When I play a DVD in Windows Vista, I get all the sounds, but talk of the actors!

Then, when I play a DVD I can hear music, background noise, etc.  but I can't hear what the actors and actresses.   It's like I hear some audio tapes, but not the actual conversation between actors!  Help, please.  This is true for all DVDs

Hello

1. what type of program you're using to play the DVD?
2. have you tried to play with another program?
3. What is the file format of the video file?

Please provide us with more information on the issue, so that we can help you further.

Before playing a DVD, try to install a compatible DVD decoder, and then try to play the DVD. To do this, visit the following Web site, the DVD decoder download and install it: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx#DVDDecoder

Try the steps and post back with the results, so that we can help you further.

If by "computer of new beginning" you mean that you have started your recovery or disk restore factory set and reinstalled Windows, then the ability to recover your files is practically zero.  You can try a utility like Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) but since you have rewritten the entire hard drive, it is highly unlikely that anything will be recoverable.

  • I have a Latitude E6400 Windows Vista and lost all the sound elements. How can I get that back?

I can't do audio on youtube or DVDs on my laptop. Any suggestions?

    Hello

Do you have any audio at all?

You should probably download and install the latest drivers for your audio device.

Be sure to set the compatibility to the correct version for which they were written.

Uninstall your Audio device in Device Manager before you reinstall the drivers.

    EDIT:

I just checked Dell, and there are three models different e6400.

I downloaded the Win 7 Audio drivers for e6400 and found that they will probably have to be REMOVED to be able to establish the compatibility of the installer with INSTALLATION inside the packaging.

To do this, you will need a program such as WinRar, WinZip or 7Zip. I think 7Zip has a free version.

After installing the program, right click on your program of driver installation and EXTRACT, as you would a zip file.

Then open the folder and double click it to install the Win 7 INSTALLATION compatibility value

When I turn on my system (Windows Vista) I get a black screen full of f zeros.

    Hi Lyndiatxaz,

    1. you receive the error codes?

2 are you able to boot into normal mode after getting the black screen?

    3. have you made a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

You can check with the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

If you are unable to boot in normal mode, you can start your computer in last known good configuration.

We can refer to the following article and try to use the last known good configuration and the control.

Using the last good known Configuration

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Start your computer in safe mode and check if you can start.

    Step 2:

If you are not faced with the question in safe mode, and then perform a clean boot and check.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to complete the clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in the article above to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state.

    Hi the kidd.

1 are the original DVD where have they been burned?
    2. not this problem occurs during playback of the audio files on the drive of the computer?
    3. What is the file format of the files on DVD?
    4. from when are you facing this problem?
    5. does happen with mp3 files?
    6. the DVD there included language options?

I suggest following these steps suggested below and check if this solves the problem.

    Step 1:

Try the effect parameters to Turn Off the SRS WOW in Windows Media Player.

Follow the steps below to do the same. Another user seems to have solved a similar problem by disabling SRS WOW effects.

    a. Click Start, click all programs and then click Windows Media Player.
    b. in playback mode, right-click an open space in the player
Tips: If the player is currently open and that you are using the library, click the view, then choose now play to switch to game mode now.
    c. point to enhancements, and then click SRS WOW effects.
    d. "SRS Wow effects" Panel appears at the top. From there, you can turn off the feature.

    Step 2:

Try to run the troubleshooting of Audio playback and check if this may help.

    a. open the Troubleshoot utility to play a sound by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel.
    (b) in the search box, type troubleshooting and then click Troubleshooting.
    c. under hardware and sound, click on the audio playback problems.
    d. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Audio playback convenience open
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-playing-audio-Troubleshooter

A workaround to resolve the problem, you can follow the steps below.

    a. Click Start, type Sound in the box to start the search.
    b. click sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.
    c. click the reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected.

Then, you can check you have connected the correct speakers to outputs of your sound card, some sound cards have several outputs for front and rear speakers and even subwoofers, check them out.

You can also check if your sound card has its own table of sound mixing or program effects. Some cards have a program outside the Windows speaker beside clock volume icon. Some programs may have set up your speakers for surround, double check windows audio configurations and your sound card audio for Dolby Surround options and enabled and try to turn them off.

Vista that included in Home Premium and Ultimate.

FWIW... before installing the software, it is always better to create a system restore point.

And... you can be able to play your DVDs with the free VLC Media Player:

A last possibility would be to install a codec Pack:

  • Cannot play a DVD in Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 12

I checked the other forum questions and answers, but my problem seems to be slightly different.
I made a family DVD about a month ago using Pinnacle Studio 11.  When my computer laptop (Dell Inspiron 1720) had Vista Home Premium installed.  I tested the DVD ended up on five different DVD players (Sony, Panasonic, etc) and in all cases, the picture and sound were good.
I installed Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 12 worm a week ago, and now when I play my DVD on my laptop nothing happens - just a black screen.  No error message and of course no picture and no sound.  Commercial DVDs play fine.

There is no other monitors connected to my computer which has been also dotted with specifically for the work of video editing.  The DVD was made in the same area he plays, so it can't be the problem.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I can try.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.
