  • Plug in a flash drive and get a bluescreen partmgr.sys

I used a flash/usb drive in my HP probook 4530 s before.  I just bought a new lexar 4 GB Flash DRIVE and pluged in there.  As he was installing the driver, the laptop shown with an error partmgr.sys blue.  The laptop is only one month.  I am running Windows 7 Professional.   I tried to uninstall, delete the registry and reinserted it.  He still blue screens.

I plugged the same flash drive on a dell optiplex running windows 7 Enterprise, and it worked fine.  It's obviously something with my laptop.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode.  Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.  Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem.  To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore.  Click on the box that says show more restore points.
    -
You can check the corrupted system files.  Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE, then click on run as administrator. Then from the command prompt, type sfc/scannow.
    -
Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log.  To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools.  Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and it puts regular periodic updates.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • When I plug my portable hard drive to the usb port it does not read and display the contents...

When I plug my portable hard drive to the usb port it does not read and display the contents...

    Hi deaza,.

Ø Have you connected the USB hard drive to the computer directly or you have used an external USB hub to connect?

O trying to connect to another USB port to check if it works?

O the hardrive shows in windows of the computer when you connect it?

    Method 1:
If you have installed security software, I suggest you to temporarily disable the security software and connect the USB and check to see if the same problem happens. Make sure that you enable the security software after checking.

Alternatively, you can try to plug the USB key into a different USB port and check if it helps.

    Method 2:
I suggest trying to launch hardware and troubleshooting of devices and check to see if it helps, here is the link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-to-do-when-a-device-isn ' t-installed-correctly

    Method 3:
If this does not help, then follow these steps:

    (a) remove all your USB devices. Use the safely remove the feature to turn them off.

    (b) open Device Manager and navigate to the section for USB. Uninstall all USB drives. There should be one for each USB port, and then restart.

To open Device Manager, go to the link below and follow the steps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-Device-Manager

    (c) Windows should re - find all of the devices. If it is not the case, note the error message and let us know.

You can also navigate to the link below and follow the steps to install the USB device.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Problem with the Flash drive on the computer.

My folders on my flash drives appear flash drives, however, show have some use. When used on another computer, they are perfect. What could be the problem?

    Hello

Have you tried another flash drive in this computer?

Check the configuration/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start - make sure that USB is enabled.

If a PC and if necessary the embedded USB can be disabled and a USB card can be used only
is not expensive. For a laptop, using a real computer shop (no leeks and glances at a Best Buy
or other stores) or system manufacturer support.

Original title: why connect my USB drive as an external drive.

When the flash drive is plugged into the USB port, it seems that it will be added as a flash drive, but then the following equipment added window indicates that an external hard drive has been added.  When I go into windows Explorer to open the drive in Explorer mode, it says to insert the disc.

    We will try this.

First of all, make sure that you are connected under an administrator account on your computer. Then plug in your USB key.

Click START then right click on my computer , then click MANAGE

In the new window, click MANAGEMENT OF DISKS

Find the name of your flash drive and right click.

Click on the letter of change of road and railways

  • Why e-mail messages are saved as .fol when I record to the Flash drive?

When I save my Windows Mail emails to my flash drive it saves them as files .fol and I can not open them.

How do you open them and is it possible to save the email in an easily accessible format?

    Hello

Winmail.FOL contains information about the folder itself, it does not all e-mail messages.  The actual messages are stored as discreet. EML files that can be imported or slipped and fell in Windows Mail folders.

Windows Mail does not export directly on an external support.

First, export the e-mail messages to your hard drive, then copy from there on your USB.

If they are be XviD .avi files... you probably
    need the XviD codec.

This can be checked by using the free software GSpot:

    Download GSpot

    (left-click the text: "Download GSpot")
    (on the next screen...
    left click: 'Download [GSpot 2.70]')

You don't have to install it... just unzip the file and
    GSpot.exe left click to launch.

  • How to get windows xp re - install for installing the flash drive to the computer error portable "windows\system32\config\system".

My Acer Aspire One has error "windows\system32\config\system" How can I get a copy of windows xp original usb? When I bought the

computer laptop windows xp made & paid for. Product key is on the back. Can I download & reinstall using a flash drive?

C:\Windows\system32\config\system is one of the files that make up the system registry.  Backups of the system registry files are kept in the 'C:\System Volume Information' folder under the system restore program.  Probably all you need to do is copy of registry backups in the Windows\system32\config folder.  A reinstall of windows may not be necessary.

To do this is to start your machine from a free "Live Linux" thumb drive.  You can create a startup disk Ubuntu here:

Follow the instructions of "Try me" and you should be able to copy backups of registry in place.  Windows has "Hidden doubling" the System Volume Information folder, but Linux doesn't seem to have any problems with it.  After starting from the Thumb Drive Linux, follow the instructions in the following article from part 2, step 6, using the graphical interface of Linux to copy files (right click copy, make a right click Paste) instead of the lines of command in the article.  With a little patience, you can restore the registry from a backup, and be back in operation
