  Hi Paraxis,

  Whenever we use the system image and restore from it, the hardware must be same, as has already been made to backup. The hard disk partition should also be in the same size.

  You can use Sysprep on your computer and check if that helps you solve the problem.

  Preparation system (Sysprep) tool is a technology that you can use with other deployment tools to install Windows on new hardware, operating systems. The Sysprep tool prepares a computer for imaging of disc or delivery to a customer of the configuration of the computer to create a new computer security identifier (SID) when the computer is restarted. In addition, the Sysprep tool cleans up user-specific and settings specific to the computer and the data that should not be copied to a destination computer.

• New hard drive installed on Portege M200 but does not start

  I upgraded the hard drive in my Portege M200 from 4 GB to 80 GB using Parted Magic to clone the original disc. Cloning complete successfully, but instead of starting with the new drive, the M200 simply display a blinking cursor when turned on. Any help is very appreciated.

  BUT! ALWAYS keep a backup!

  Boot the system with a flexible BACK (with fdisk.exe inside) to restore the MBR by typing

  FDISK/MBR

  This works even on a SATA drive. Start alternative all Win2k or XP installation CD, go to the console command and issure of recovery

  FIXMBR

  I got my drive HARD Toshiba PX1267E - 1 32 for about 18 months, and it worked fine. However, all of a sudden it has stopped working, it is no longer appears on my desktop. Previously, it was password protected, and the password box will appear first. When the password has been accepted it would perform a scan of the drive and I would be able to as I wanted. I have not updated anything on my PC or nothing changed in my knowledge, then why is no longer usable? The password box is not also be displayed, I am unable to find the disc that came with it.

  I am running XP.

  Please help as there is a considerable amount of data out there that I can't access.

• My hard drive has been replaced, now PE does not work!

  My laptop was having problems, which ended in my motherboard and hard drive being replaced. Before doing so, I basically copied my entire hard drive to an external drive. I copied everything then back on my laptop with its new hard drive, but now when I try to open PE it tells me to uninstall and reinstall. The problem is that it is not technically installed on the new hard drive! I have no way to uninstall it! What should I do to get it working again?

  I have no access to my old hard drive (just what I copied on the external drive to backup/storage).

  Given that I copied all of the hard disk, the program and everything with it's on my new, but I can't figure out how to uninstall or reinstall.

  Original title - Windows Vista running on my laptop Sony VAIO

  Trying to turn on my laptop using the built in battery nothing happens.  When the laptop is connected to the power supply and turned on Windows does not.  It shows something in the sense that it does not properly off.  It tries to load back to a system restore point before the last stop, but seems to fail again during this process.  All that is displayed is a black screen. Currently the power on light is on, the battery light is on, but the drive activity light is off.

  Yet once again, I switched on the laptop and finally the Startup Repair process is automatically called.  After the display of the bar to attempt repairs, the system has been repaired successfully.  As a result, the I ran my Norton anti-virus, followed by Windows Updatesoftware.

  I just realized when inserting a CD, he has not read. I havn't he used in awhile, so it can't just happen. When I insert the CD you can hear it spin and green light flashes, but after about 10-15 seconds it stops and the light goes out. Under 'My Computer', I see more player. I don't see the driver CD/DVD option in my Device Manager menu longer, and I do not see it in the BIOS. I have a HP Pavilion Labtop.

  Since it is not recognized in the BIOS, which means that the reader could have failed, there is a possible cable or
  problem of controller or other hardware problems.

  If you can get it to be recognized in the BIOS and it still doesn't work, maybe these will help.

  You might have a disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD and CD burn and)
  DVD playback). Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

  Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are some registry entries
  that the troubleshooter does not, and those who "could" be the cause.

  Check with your system manufacturer Maker and device for possible firmware updates and the good
  Your player registry entries.

  Here are the keys in my opinion, are those in question - for the reader of CD/DVD subkeys of course that he will be

• When put external hard drive or a usb ports on the old computer, windows xp flash drive cannot operate. Just try to take off the important information from this computer to put in another.

  Get the yellow signal, and even if the device seems to work, Assistant ask me to install a disk into drive G.

  It could happen because of the USB 1.1 of your old motherboard version. But your compatible USB 2.0 device & back USB 1.0 compatible with reduced performance mode. So, if the devices work, then just ignore the message.

  Also make sure your Win XP has at least service pack 2 installed.

  To find your version of Win XP:

  Start > run > type "winver" (only the text within the quotation)

  Reading the dialog box for the Windows version, subversion of copyright, Service pack etc.

  Before Windows XP SP2, the OS had no compatibility issue for the USB 2.0 device.

  Hopefully this will solve your problem.

Currently, all the added music in this way shows the location of each song as E: in the properties of the song. I went back to the score zune software to the right location (for example settings-online collection => by adding the name of the place where the music.). The negative result is that I can't play full songs for music I own. Instead, Zune software plays the second.30 preview for each. Is this a problem of Zune, Vista or Western Digital external drive problem? Why Vista would recognize the location of the reader out of sequence. Please notify. Thank you
