When I type the address of a previous tab manually, it brings back me to the other tab.

I went on a site I need to look for more than one thing, so I pressed ctrl + t to open a new tab and start typing in the address. He filled in for me in my history, I clicked on it (to be as accurate as possible, I clicked on the site, he suggested me with in the drop down menu of my story, as it does when you start typing an address/keyword), and it just brought me back to the previous tab instead of loading the Web site into the new I opened.
I looked through my Settings - Tab Mix Plus of parameters and settings Firefox - to see what could be the cause of this, if it was something I could turn on and off, but I don't see anything. This is a really annoying feature and I want to turn it off. I know, it does not seem a big deal, but it's a really irritating thing for me... I guess I'm a little obsessive compulsive that way.

I know there are ways to get around it, but as I said, I find really irritating and I'm stubborn. If there is a way to turn it off, I really want to know.

You can turn off the switch on the functionality of the tab by using the switch to tab no Add on more - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/switch-to-tab-no-more
