  • What are the devices will be extensible to OS 5.0?

Now that the OS 5.0 JDE Beta is out, I wonder when I'll be able to start using it. The question for me is what are the devices will be extensible to OS 5.0? I'm mainly interested in the enterprise space (upgrade via BES?), but the consumer (updates through carriers?) space is also interesting.

I have not seen instructions update. Have I missed them?

I think the 8700 to pearls later devices are extendable to 4.5, that this includes:

    8700,

    all Pearl 81xx

    88xx

    83xx

As far as I know, there is no support 4.6 or later version for these devices.

4.6 devices and later versions include:

    Flip 8220

    "BOLD"

    Storm

    8900 curve

  • Display of sizes of different icons on different devices

I'm trying to dynamically set a different icon based on the device. I've set up another point of entry in the xml of the application descriptor file. It passes an argument of "icon" in my application main().

The entry point is triggered as expected (installation of the application and to the power of the cycle), but he has problems when calling updateIcon() on some phones (for example BB 8900 T-Mobile version 4.6.1.231 (Platform 4.2.0.108)). Looks like it fails on phones with OS 4.7 and works very well on phones on or above this level.

The error I get is IllegalArgumentException: "Module with handle [XXXX] and [X] index has no application entry point. Try to set the index to both 0 and 1 on updateIcon() has the same problem.

It is only happening when I install the application OTA (works on the 8900 charging cable).

I have my code below from from the section of this topic:

    public static void main(String[] args) { if ( args != null && args.length > 0 && args[0].equals("icon") ){      MyApp instance = new MyApp(true); } else {      MyApp instance = my MyApp(false); } instance.enterEventDispatcher();}

I use Eclipse plug-in 1.1.2 to build my app, but article is older, obsolete 1.0 plugin, maybe the instructions no longer apply and must be updated?

Understood the problem, basically it is a condition of race as described here which is also in addition to restarting the device. It happens when the application is installed OTA and the entry point to attempts to define the icon when the application is not fully registered with the device. In a Word, it is the valid response (in invokeLater):

    int failedTries = 0; //failed attempt counter (maximum of 5 attempts for this example)public void run(){                     ApplicationManager myAppManager = ApplicationManager.getApplicationManager();                     boolean keepGoing = true;                     while (keepGoing){                        //Check if the BlackBerry has completed its startup process.                          if (myAppManager.inStartup()){                            //The BlackBerry is still starting up, sleep for 1 second.                            try {                                 Thread.sleep(1000);                           } catch (Exception ex) {                                //Couldn't sleep, handle exception.                             }                         } else {                              //The BlackBerry has finished its startup process.                            //Set the rollover icons.                             try {                                 HomeScreen.updateIcon(icon, 0);                               HomeScreen.setRolloverIcon(icon, 0);                                          keepGoing = false;                                          //Icon should of been set at this point                             } catch(Exception e){                                 System.out.println("setting icon caught: " + e.getMessage());                                 e.printStackTrace();                                          failedTries++;                                    try {                                     Thread.sleep(2500);                               } catch (Exception ex) {                                    //Couldn't sleep, handle exception.                                 }                                          //Since the attempt failed, we sleep for two and a half secs and try again.                              }                             if(failedTries > 4){                               //Worst case. Should revert to a default icon if it fails to be set after five tries.                                 keepGoing = false;                            }                         }                     }                     //Exit the application.                   System.exit(0);               }

Catch the exception, and then sleep for about two seconds and leave the loop to set the icon again, because it will succeed on the second or third try (at that time that the app must be registered with the device, including its entry point). In addition, to ensure a maximum test because you do not want to create a possibility of an infinite loop if for some reason, it fails to set the icon each time.

  • Defining the "Device Name" during activation of materials

What determines the "Device Name" in the list of devices enabled in the pool of development on the Adobe license site for the device licenses? Specifically for Macs... It doesn't seem to be the "Sharing of preferences..." pane

So, thought of it by myself. It seems that the serializer Adobe uses the local hostname to Mac. You can find that by going to the terminal and type "hostname". The host name gets initially fixed by any domain name that is assigned to the intellectual property. If neither is the case, it uses the share name in the sharing preferences pane. However, you can cancel and change the host name using the terminal (sudo scutil - set HostName mynewhostname.local). Deauthorize the unit on the Adobe site and reauthorize and it will appear as you wish. In this way, you can have the machine listed on the Adobe site, but you want rather than domain name. This is useful if you have a long list of machines and want to adjust their hostnames to their room number or location, etc.

  • What is the minimum size Flash DRIVE bootable installation of Sierra?

When you make a bootable installation of Sierra, what is the minimum size of USB that is required?

    8 or 16GBs.

Installers for OS X Mavericks to Sierra bootable USB

First, review this introductory article: creating a Setup program bootable OS X Mavericks or Yosemite - Apple Support. Second, see this diagram how to create an El Capitan bootable Installer. Just replace the Terminal command with that of the previous article by copying it in the Terminal window.

You will need a 8 GB or more flash disk USB that has been partitioned and formatted for use with OS X.

    Drive partition and format

    1. Open utility disk from the Applications\utilitaires folder.
    2. After disk utility charges select the drive (entrance Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) in the list to one side.
    3. Click clear in the utility disc toolbar. Name of the player, "MyVolume". <-IMPORTANT!
    4. In the Group dropdown set the GUID partition scheme. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    5. Click apply and wait for the done button to activate it. When it click on it.
    6. Quit disk utility.

    Create the installation program

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Choose according to the command line appropriate (in red) on the OS X installer you want. Paste this entire command line by underneath at the Terminal prompt:

    Order for macOS Sierra:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyV--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app

    Order for El Capitan:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app X\ X\

    Order for Yosemite:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ Yosemite.app X\ X\

    Control of Mavericks:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ Mavericks.app X\ X\

Press RETURN. You will be asked your admin password. It won't echo on the Terminal window. Press RETURN again. Wait for the prompt to the Terminal, meaning that the process is complete. It takes a while to complete. Be patient.

  • What is the largest size SSHD I can put in my Macbook Pro 2015?

I have a model early 2015 MacBook Pro 13 w/retina with 8 GB of RAM with a 128 SSHD.  I want to upgrade the SSHD and I have a few questions:

    1. What is the largest size that I can install it?

    2. how to re-install the operating system?

Thanks in advance for your help...   I apologize if this question has already been asked, but I couldn't find the answers.

Technically, SSHD refers to a drive of Fusion purchased in-store, with a rotating part (the hard drive) and a Solid State Drive, all in one package.

I think you meant to ask about Solid State Drive or SSD. That's all that will fit in the MacBook pro 13 - in 2015.

Line of OWC/Macsales Aura of "stick" form factor drives go up to about 1 TB at a price:

  • Satellite 2400-103 - what is the maximum size of HARD drive?

    Hi all.
    New here.

Nobody knows what the maximum hard disk size is for a Satellite 2400-103? This laptop has a 30GB HARD drive which is complete at the moment and I'm moving to a 160 GB unit.

Used software - DiskCopy - clone Moose 30 GB of cloning to the new 160 GB drive. This creates a partition on the disk that is the same size as the original (about 28GB). If the new hard drive is installed on the laptop at this point, the laptop will be start OK. If I use a partition manager - Partition Magic - to resize the partition to the size of the new disc (about 150 GB) then the laptop does not start.

Would it because there is a limit on the size of the hard disk supported by this laptop?
If so, what is the limit?

    Thank you and best regards.

    Mike

    Hello!

Satellite 2400 is very old notebook, so I think it has a limitation of LBA 28 bits. This means that you can only use up to 128 GB of free space so the maximum capacity of the disc HARD would be 120 GB. So I think that's the reason why the computer laptop can-t start successfully with the 160 GB model.

In your case I bring back the 160 GB model to the computer store and ask one another 120 GB one. It should work normally

    Good bye

    Hi Scott,.

If you change the settings in display properties, you can change it to default by selecting the Windows XP default theme. This will change all default Windows fonts and their sizes.

To do this, follow these steps.

    a. right click on an empty space on the desktop and then click Properties.

    b. on the themes tab, click Windows XP in the theme box.

    c. click OK.

    Hi Weaselspoon,

Dimensions for portfolio would be 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

Dimensions for photos of the contact sheet should be 2 x 2 inches if you are using the Windows Photo Viewer.

  • What is the maximum size of a project (the number of slides)?

    Hello!

I am considering using Adobe Captivate 9 to create courses. I wonder what the limit is the size of a project/course.

If I want to create a massive course (300 more slides), Captivate would be able to do?

On a related note, is there a size limit for editions with Captivate applications?

    Thank you very much!

    RodWardadvice is critical:

Captivate CAN create huge classes with hundreds of slides.

I tried once, it was not good.

I would ask, outside a large scope, what are the parameters of design?

    Public: location? Experience?

Content: Linear, minor branch, extremely complex?

Quiz & evaluation: controls all along, lesson quizzes, final exam, all this knowledge?

Distribution platform: LMS or web hosted?

Network configuration: Intranet, Extranet, Internet audience?

The user access: Desktop, web, mobile, generous mix?

    justint14083881 wrote:

He can do it, but you probably wouldn't build it in this way, not twice anyway.

    This leads me to ask:

What is your level of experience with other versions of Captivate?

    Other courseware authoring tools?

    LMS & web hosting?

I'm not hoping that the project 300 + slide is not going to be your first experience with Captivate.

(Forgive me on this point, but your profile is not very complete, you provided little substantive and not not to LinkedIn or other portfolio pages)

First, the standard SCORM LMS allows only a quiz by file. If you publish a course of 300 + slide, you would be limited to a simple quiz on the course.

Secondly, as mentioned by RodWard , if you want to enable access to the mobile device, the size of your project would be unmanageable for mobile delivery to SBS. You have to break out after the fact, which is difficult, frustrating and rework.

Thirdly, if there is no desire to reuse content, as reusable objects, the only course approach means your audience can follow the entire course or not take. Pouvez copy you slide by slide to another project, but then you would have to manage multiple variations. If a single slide changes in this approach, and you have reused slide ten times, you will need to make ten changes to keep a current slide.

Captivate can create links to other projects, web or pages content back into your LMS. Break 300 more to the top of the slides in small bites, that's really what we do.

My advice is to learn about Captivate, before you start this level of effort, taking training, get experience on smaller projects, publish on your LMS companies, your comments on the finished course.

In addition, you should spend some time reading these forums, research on issues related to the interactions you want to use, questions LMS, you will need to address, and ensure that the follow-up and communication systems are in place to meet your organizations needs.

Then you're ready to start designing for your platform, with a good understanding of the functions of Captivate as a tool, your network and your LMS.
