  • HP Photosmart 7260 - I get "network busy" message when you try to print from home network

I've included just a mac pro with Snow Leopard OS on my home network. I tried to add the shared printer, but even with the IP address, I can't print. Work of all my other pc. The host computer uses Windows XP, DELL router with firmware update, the printer is connected through a router. I already downloaded the latest drivers from the Apple site. Without success.

OKAY, OKAY.  Honestly, I'm not very good with printer sharing, especially across operating systems, but I'll give it a shot.

First of all, just to be clear, the printer is connected to a XP machine via USB and you're trying to print via a router, right?

    Let's try the simple approach:

    1. enable the account on the XP machine.

    2. on the Mac, go to System Prefs > Print & Fax, click the plus sign "+" to add a printer, and then click the Windows icon at the top.

    3. go to the XP machine, you may have to connect to it.

    4. choose the appropriate driver in the menu dropdown.  If it does not exist, choose a Gutenprint driver.

Yet once again, I'm not very experienced with that - let me know how it goes.

  • MacBook Pro crashes when connecting to WiFi at home

    Hi all

    Short:

When I connect to some of my macbook pro WiFi networks freezes.  By freezing I mean all input devices stop working: no touchpad, no keyboard, no external mouse, no keyboard.  My laptop stops 30 seconds after the Frost is out of the reboot.  The problem is worse at home.  He will die almost instantly if I try to use my home network.  On the road, it can take an hour or two, then freeze!  At work, life seems almost endless, but it froze.  More details to follow.

    Symptoms:

    • When I connect everything first a loading bar is shown, sometimes it will freeze it and start/stop.
    • Shortly after I log in, before you do anything, but moving the mouse, it will freeze.
    • Sometimes I can not connect and it will work fine for a few minutes, until I use all that internet: firefox, safari, mail, any software that checks the license through the internet, then it freezes.
    • Other times, I can work on the internet without pain for hours.
    • Sometimes it will work very well, I will walk away and the machine goes to sleep.  When I wake up, it will freeze.  With and without the WiFi on.
    • Sometimes it will work very well, I'll close the lid for a certain period of time for 1 minute to 24 hours and sometimes when I open it it will freeze.
    • It crashed when booting in verbose mode.  Died when something with bluetooth.  I tried only once.
    • When in recovery mode (CMD + R), I can run the utility disc fine, but if I want to reinstall OS X, the minute, trying to download (after signing with my Apple ID) it will freeze.  It's the only way I've been able to reliable and predictable way to reproduce this problem, however, as on my home network.
    • There is never crash logs in the console.  I have never one "your machine should be stopped."  The only way that I know that there was a problem is that I will ask you to log in and when I do, none of my programs are still open.

    Where this happens:

    • On my work WiFi network, it's hardly a question.  Happened at least 5 times in the last year.
    • During a journey (so any number of networks and equipment) will occur once an hour.
    • At home, he can go months without a pass and then, as yesterday (24/04/16), occur continuously for hours on end.  (I have just let my laptop open and hear the chime start about once a minute).

    What I tried:

    • Reinstalled OS X.
    • Run diagnostics (CMD + D)
    • Reset the PRAM and SMC
    • Run recovery stuff (CMD + R)
    • Safe mode has the same problems; When internet is used, it freezes.
    • That thing where you delete all of your connections wifi, both in the Terminal and in the GUI.
    • Disable IPV6 on my Macbook Pro
    • The laptop is not hot.  Power supply or the battery power does not make a difference.

    Other stuff:

    • I have an old Macbook Pro (running Yosemite) who doesn't have these problems.  There is another Windows Mobile and apple and windows Phone which does not have these problems.
    • Using WiFi at home and Arris TG1682G me provided by Comcast/Xfinity.
    • My laptop froze all the time and then I went to another network (neighbor thank you!) and everything seems fine.

As my computer can still freeze on other networks I'll post this now and change it.  I don't want to lose that.

I can't find a button change.  Shortly after I posted this my macbook pro has frozen and restarted.  I was not on my wifi at home.

  • I use a HP computer, when I try to load Mozilla home page says I use an iOS and does not load

When I try to open the home page of Mozilla it says it can not open with an iOS and my computer does not meet the requirements. I use a HP computer. He used to pen without problem until I upgraded to version 33. I had to use my IE browser in order to send it to you. In my browser IE Mozilla home page opens correctly.

    PROBLEM SOLVED

OK James, I was able to understand the problem. I use Avast Anti-virus program. It offers a feature called "Home Network Security" when I updated to the latest version, I thought I'd give this feature a try. I went and disabled this feature, and was able to get the Mozilla Web site to load properly. What I don't understand is why he just did with Mozilla's Web site and only if you are using Firefox. It didn't do it using IE or Maxthon browsers.

anyway thanks a lot for the answer to my problem and try to solve it. When you said "it could be due to a proxy or even external software that changes the browser identifies itself asonline. It made me remember the change that I did with the Avast anti-virus program.

I just bought the new laptop, and when I try to print to a network printer (one that I always printed at front), I get a message: "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable" - I can't add a network printer at all! Help!

Is there a setting I need to change to be able to add network printers?

I think you should contact your local administrator and let him install this network printer. He knows how to install the correct driver and how to find the location of the printer.

  • Moved from home office computer. Try to connect to the home network. Working Group changed now it won't let me connect you to Windows. It is the search for field. What can I do now?

My TI guy told me to do the following...

go to my computer, and then click Properties. Then go in the name of the computer from a network to a working group. I entered the name of my working group. Then it tells me to restart so I did.

Now when I try to get into windows that connect, when I enter the username and password he tells me to check and make sure that they are correct and check the field. It does give me an option to choose a domain.

It's husband's computer and I need to run quickly. Any help would be appreciated.

Note please. I am a novice user and that you will need as more detailed instructions you can give.

    Thank you

    Aimee Bushmaker

    Green Bay, WI

BTW - Windows XP Professional is installed on the PC.

    Not good.

When you remove a computer from a domain, and put in a workgroup, you must ensure that you have a local user account with administrative privileges created on the machine before removing the domain.  Maybe the built-in Administrator account will work, but in most domain environments, the default password [White] is replaced by a different password.  Microsoft has an article that deals with this:

"You can not connect after you remove the computer from the domain.

Your technician COMPUTER should have known this would be a problem.  If you are a novice user and you can not access the built-in Administrator account, then your best bet to get must return to the domain and have your guys IT re - join to the domain.  Make sure you have a local user with administrative privileges created before withdrawing again to the field.

Note that you normally will not have to remove a computer from a domain to make it work in a home-networking environment (working group).  You should be able to connect using the credentials cached [field] and your home network must always be visible to you.

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.
Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

If you have authorization and security problems, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot one

Re just one example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

** Note . There must be specific users. All means all users who already have an account now as users. This does not mean everyone who feel they would like to connect.

*** Note. Some of the processes described above are made sake not for Windows, but to compensate for different routers and how their firmware works and stores information about computers that are networked.

  • HP 8660 hard crash when you try to set up the network

So, the strangest thing happened to my all-in-One printer, apparently without me even not touching.

We have changed our ISP and had to spend our routers/wireless modems in our apartment. It is - of course - our printer drop the connection to the network - no surprise.

So the big weird thing is, when I now try to establish a connection to our new network, our hardcrashes printer and needs a reboot (ie. on / turn off the) to the same function again.

When it crashes I get a brief error message VERY (less than one second - white letters on a BSOD background), after which all the LED lights on the printer starts flashing and the screen tells me that the printer must be powered on/off voltage.

The code (I tried to catch in the less-than-per-second duration is shown) is: B8409490

When the printer is connected by wire (LAN), everything works like a charm. Using the copy function works fine as well. But since a cable solution is exactly what we were looking for, any input as to what the problem could be is greatly appreciated!

    PS:

I tried to reset the settings and the use of the factory through the hidden «menu factory» reset Problem persists.

    Hi Diojr,

Thanks for your reply and information!

I'm sorry to see that you receive the error message when you try to connect to your network. I see the wired connection works fine. I noticed that you have already tried a factory reset and the same problem persists.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest updating the firmware, and then try to reconnect to your network (wireless).

Please let me know how it works for you!

I don't understand exactly how errors in the two newspapers are related, but my opinion is that, if I can solve my CheckSUR.log errors, CBS.log errors will disappear to, and then I might even be able to install SP1.

Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

    1 person needs an answer

For what is interesting, what I ended up doing to solve my problems was to re - install Vista with the 'upgrade' option, so I don't lose any of my files or desktop settings...

After that, I had a few problems with my OS reinstalled with several (80 +) updates, SP1 and SP2 from catching up.  But overall these problems were minor compared to it, that I lived just to fix some missing files.
