So look like an easy option, I agreed. It seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed), but now it seems that I need to format the hard drive.   Instead to start Firefox normally, hold the SHIFT key to get the Security Mode/Reset dialog box and start safe mode. Then switch your acceleration hardware definition here:

  In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

  Safe mode automatically disables hardware acceleration, but this modification should enter into force when you quit Firefox and then start it again normally.
