Where a document?

Then the option to search in OS X works very well and is very fast, I find it almost impossible to understand where the document that I found.

At the same time, I was able to select a document in the search results, press command-I and an 'info' on the document window opens.  In this way, if I had multiple copies of the same document I could consolidate them in one place.

Now, I have to open the document.  In preview, I have to select "file: move: another ' to get a finder window to open which shows the document.  (I hate the option "move to" Preview.)  The options are completely useless to me).

Other applications have totally different ways (not standard) to know where the original document.

Why the UI on OS X is collapsing?

I use the column view in any Finder window. If you Finder > menu bar > display, activate "Show path Bar" and you will get the full path at the bottom of the Finder window.

  • Where the documents are stored?

I scanned a document using my Canon application and selected the option to save as a PDF on my mobile device.  I can not for the life of me find where it is stored - is not in iBooks or any other PDF reader that I have on my iPad.  Any ideas, please?

Documents are stored in the application in which they are created or saved. I don't know anything about the app to Canon, but have you looked into this app to see if the PDF file has been registered it? If that were the case, you can move the PDF file in another application by tapping on the share icon by selecting any application that appears in this window.

  • And where THIS document go: Portable product card

A few months ago (March 2011, I think), there was a Web page called Portable product card.  This page is very simple yet they contain very important details on the performance of Cisco devices.   Then, sometime in March or April 2011, someone moved or deleted the Web page.  Everything is there on the left is the journal of performance of the router .

Does anyone know where this very valuable page went?  A person from Cisco can do that restore it please?

  • Where can I find the Documents and Settings folder or the folder on Vista?

I need to find a Real Player file file so I can delete it, but am unable to find the floder Documents and Settings.  I need to delete a file called treestate.dat but am unable to find... Help, please!

    In Windows Vista user profiles

In Windows XP, 2000, 2003, user profiles are stored in c:\Documents and Settings. In Windows Vista, the profiles are now stored in c:\Users. You will see a folder c:\Documents and Settings in Windows Explorer in Vista, but you will also notice the shortcut icon on the folder, and you will not be able to access this folder. c:\Documents and Settings is now a junction Point. You can use the random dir command to see where c:\Documents and Settings point to or use the table below.

The following table lists the old profile path and the new path under Windows Vista.

    Old path

    New path

    \Documents and Settings

    \Users

    \Documents and Settings\Default User or
    %LogonServer%\NETLOGON\Default user

  • Where in the 'My Documents' card?

I'm building a new PC at home. In addition to using it for the usual and recreation office, I would also like to use to learn Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.

My immediate problem is that I don't know where to place the 'My Documents' on this machine. (I always map of my Docs on a disk separate from the BONE, which greatly facilitates backups of data.)

I studied injury Guide generic for the installation disk and I'll be setting up the new box with four or five hard drives according to this guide. However, it is not clear to me where "My Documents" must be mapped in order to cause the least interference with the objectives of the generic Guide. 'My Documents' will probably share a disk with the "scratch disks" or media files or something, but not with the operating system.

So where should it go? Or, perhaps, a more useful question, where should it go?

I use a 256 GB SSD for the OS and programs. The rest of the data/cache is distributed among the three or four 1 t WD Black caviar.

    Thank you

    John Dimick

    John,

The reason you can't find specific information, it is that it doesn't really matter. When editing you do not access the documents at the same time, they are. DOC. DOCX or. XLS files.

In my personal case, I have My Documents on a network drive, and not on a local drive. Allows me to synchronize the full directory with my laptop as well, so I always have full access to My Documents when on the road.

  • Where are stored the docs iCloud on my Mac?

I need to find where iCloud documents are stored on my Mac.  They do not appear in the record of the House.

(I know that I can access via the Finder).

The reason for this need is I backup to CrashPlan, but CrashPlan is not obviously find the iCloud folder in fact Finder.

So, I need locate and add it to the CrashPlan files for backup.

    Thank you.

iCloud Drive is an alias in the following folder.

    Documents ~/Library/mobile

If CrashPlan backup this file or not is a question for the developer.

Beware that Apple might change in the future as the path name or the location. No doubt, ~/Library/ is hidden for a reason.

  • Compac Presario CQ5320F: documents in my library of photos of MS

I find the unwanted documents (Word, Excel, PDF, web sites, timestamps...) in my library of photos Win 7. How it limit it to only photos?  I tried to clean by removing documents upwards and discovered that the deletion made the source files in my files of Word!  Do I have to use another photo management program and if I do I will lose all documents when I delete the photo library?

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

There is no such possibility to limit the files inside the image library.

In fact, there are a few libraries known as shortcuts to point to specific folders instead of C:\Uses\~username~\.

Libraries of photos are taken by design to contain images, BUT there is no Windows function to limit them to include other files. For example, in my document libraries I can include also music and photos, as well.

It is up to the user to decide which files to include.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "unwanted documents"? What is a shared computer? Do you have any idea how these 'undesirables' documents, landed on the pictures folder?  You say that you decided to clean it upward and this deleted documents.  If this is the case, I think that the picture library is configured to point to a place where the documents are defined. I suspect that you may have placed 2 or more folders to be part of the picture library. If this is the case, it can be changed to one of the options:

  • If the action button does not have my document?

I scanned a document private on my printer using the iPad Printercontrol app, I wanted to send the document to myself, so I went into the menu files, selected the scanned document and instead press the arrow icon (share), I pressed the button share instead. Now, I don't know where the document has been "shared" at. Where exactly is he? I don't see all the settings as to where a document would be shared, whether it's on social media networks, that I have accounts or a location in my network.

    Hey CommandereON,

I see that you use the PrinterControl application and analysis.  I'm guessing that you pressed the ' share' button at the bottom left of the screen when you try to share your emails.  I just tested this option and this button does not send the document from anywhere.  He shares the file outside the control application printer at the Gallery of the camera itself.  You use the button at the top right to share in places such as social networks and e-mail.

Hope this helps to clarify your question,

    Jason

  • HP Photosmart D110: removal of tenacious document printing queue

In the queue of my printer printing a document that do not print and refuses to be deleted there.  Other documents in the queue (before & after) were easy to remove, but it said "Delete" for a day and a half now, without be deleted.  This is why I can't print anything else.  And to make things worse, I don't know even where the document came from.  Under "Status", it says it is deleting, and under the 'pages' section, it says 24/8.  I tried several direct ways to remove the document in the print queue.  Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hello

From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.

Naviguer navigate down to the print spooler service, right-click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.

Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS , then delete the tasks within this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

Restart the computer and you should find that the document has been deleted.

  • My documents are opened in a non legible form, if my settings may be incorrect?

If I try to open any document in Windows Starter 2010 small screen asking that I select the coding that makes the readable document

The selections are Windows (Default), MS-DOS and other coding.

Any choice made the document is still incomprehensible.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Jim.

I assume you mean that you have Office Starter 2010, which is the successor of Microsoft Works.  There are several file formats Microsoft Office which won't open in Office Starter 2010, they are quite obscure file formats.

Where the documents that you are having problems with it comes?  What is the file extension (the characters after the dot in the name of the file)?

  • Digitization of Document with Dell All In One Printer A960

I would like to know the steps to scan a document on a Dell All In One Printer A960.  I have a Windows Vista operating system.

Here are the steps I take in the manaul.

    1. I put the paper on the glass.

    2. Select the place I want the paper to go.

    3. I then select the Start button.

    4. once I press the button start, he says: it's scanning, without windows or tabs open on my computer screen.

    5. I then go to my control panel and click on the button that says "scanner and camera" to find the document.

    6. I can preview the document once I've selected the button that says "Scanner and camera" on the Control Panel, it takes me to a page where the document is located, the only thing I can do on this page is three things (1) overview of the document, (2) the document Scan or (3) cancel the document., I can't do anything else.

Step 6 is where I have problems, how can I get the document of the preview of the page area scan to another folder or area such as 'My Document' folder or any other folder, so that I can attach it to an email. There are only buttons "3", (1) a preview button Scan of a button (2) and (3) a Cancel button.

If I can get the document of the preview in "My Documents folder" area or any other folder I can attach it to an email.

If anyone knows the steps to get the document in the preview page to scan in 'my account', please list the steps, this is my first time trying to scan a document.

    Thank you
