Where are my passwords stored on the hard disk in Firefox 16?

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and went from Windows 7, and I just forgot to save (Yes, I know, it's stupid) my profile with passwords. The windows.old folder is there, with my old profile and everything, but I can't seem to find the passwords. In every article I read about this, I'm told even "the signons3.txt and signons.sqlite in the profile folder. But there is NOTHING in my Firefox profile folder.
To see if she was just disappeard my windows.old folder, I installed Firefox 16 and saved a password. But it's the same here, there is no files at all.

It works differently in Firefox 16? Or is bad just pure Windows 8?

These are the good files signons3.txt and signons.sqlite

That you are unable to find similar files in the installation in progress, you may be looking in the wrong place or does not display hidden files.

You might have a custom Setup, but the profile is generally

  • Satellite L650-11F: where are the backup information stored on the HARD drive

    Hello.

My original Toshiba HDD is a failure and I had to replace it with a new one. I haven't had any recovery DVDs until Windows stopped booting and try to avoid buying one.

I thought that I copy just my recovery Partition and the master boot record on the new HARD drive which worked well. However I find that this hidden restore partition has only 400 MB and so cannot possibly contain all the necessary information to restore the system.

I have boot from it, but I don't get any options to restore the default settings. It scans only for problems with Windows, runs a few tests on my records and presents me with advanced options that I can't go because I'm not connected.

I went searching all about and know that ELSEWHERE THE PARTITION RECOVERY that you still need your Windows partition for recovery work.

It seems just really stupid because most people will try to restore their default values after damage to their windows (deleted files accidentally or whatever).

What is the point of keeping a partition hidden with just enough to Prime the system, but then require that certain parts of their partition original windows remains intact in order to restore?

What I'm trying to know is exactelly what part (files) do I need to restore my computer. I tried to copy the Windows partition on the new disk but its too damaged and he'll take it apart if I try to copy some files or to copy directly (using linux dd or ddrescue).

I am able to copy some of the unique files, so with little chance I might be able to copy everything that I need. I can't copy the part of the Windows folder however.

So any1 know where the backup information is stored or has other ideas?

Thank you in advance and please excuse my bad English.

    Hello

At first, I must say that your biggest mistake was not not to create recovery discs. With these discs you didn t now have a stupid problem.
Anyway, in my opinion, only option for you is now buy original Toshiba Recovery disk and install Recovery on the new HARD disk image.

I put t know how to start the discussion with you and try to offer some answers. Is Toshiba doesn t create recovery CD/DVDs more and original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive. At first he was saved on the second partition of HARD drive and visible for laptop owners. Many people have deleted and do some experiments with these files for recovery. Later after the screwing up of most of them wondered why the recovery installation doesn t work anymore and blaming Toshiba for non-working HARD drive recovery facility.

You need to just check this forum and see how many comments you can find here all this.

I think that was the reason why Toshiba has decided to save this image on a hidden partition to avoid such things. Please note that this image of hidden recovery is designed for your laptop only and can be used if your laptop has the factory settings. Any type of change may result with missing option to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.

Problem is that people don't read the operating manuals and don t understand how it works. To avoid any situation where the installation of the HARD disk can't start or failure HARD disk Toshiba strictly recommended recovery DVD creation. I m wondering really you didn't create these disks.

At this point, I would like to repeat what I think: you will not be able to do anything, except by using the original installation disc of recovery. To be honest, it is cheap and costs 30 euros. Don t waste your time to play, buy, install the OS, and be happy.

    Bye and good luck

    Hi Maxim P,.

Sync Center is the place to go to synchronize your computer with network folders, mobile devices and compatible programs. Sync Center can keep automatically your files and folders synchronized in different places.

Open Sync Center by clicking the Start button, tap all programs, accessories, and then clicking on of Sync Center.

Sync Center is a feature of Windows that allows you to keep information synchronized between your computer and files stored in folders on network servers. They are called offline files because you can access them even when your computer or the server is not connected to the network.

I just bought an Equium U400-145, and in the manual it says there is a Protection of the hard disk utility and properties are accessible from the icon on the toolbar or via the start menu in Toshiba - Utilities.

    Hello

The HARD drive should be placed on the left side of the laptop.
I think that it of one near the port of slot and PCMCIA modem.
At the bottom of the unit, you should find a screw holding the cover of the HARD drive.
Remove the two black screws and lift the cover of the HARD drive location.
Remove the two black screws, secure the HARD drive into the HARD drive slot.
Grasp the HARD-drive carrier handle and pull forward to disconnect and remove the
    HARD DRIVE.
Remove the four screws flat head of the HARD-drive bracket and lift the HARD drive.

    That s all ;)

    Hey Buddy

If you are using Vista, then you should consider that Vista creates an additional partition on the HARD drive.
It s hidden and it contains backup files in order to repair the operating system if something goes wrong.

In addition HARD drive must also contain HARD drive recovery files (image).
These files are required to recover the laptop HARD drive.

So the hidden partition and the recovery of HARD drive that could be the main reason why you noticed smaller amount of space available on the HARD disk

  • Browse the contents of the hard disk of the target in real time

    Hello

Is there an easy way to browse the content of the hard drive on a real-time target by using the file path control (or another type of control)?

What I have in my application is a PC real-time desktop (running on PharLap) who has a Main.vi running on it. There are a few configuration files (for this VI) I want to be able to read and record to that would be stored on the hard drive of the target in real time. However, when the application runs and I hit the Browse button, it displays the contents of the Windows machine and not the machine in real time. Is there something I'm missing?

Please note that I can send via FTP on the Windows computer to the target in real time and can interact with the drive of the target in real time without any problem.

  • access all information on the hard disk for all users.

I tried to set up a link today from my new laptop computer Windows 7 my most top of desktop running vista.  The liaison program stated that the administrator on my old computer was only a temporary user.  I tried to set up the account as a permanent user without realizing that it would replace the current account.  I have now no access to programs from hard drive of the main user I was using.  I was wondering if there is anything I can do to access the hard disk with this user and import files?  I forgot almost all programs appear on the computer but open to anything.

    Hi kismet.

    1. What do you mean by link program?

    2. What have you tried to do?

    3. how many accounts do you currently on the computer and what are they?

    4. what happens when you try to access the files on the hard drive?

It seems that you do not have permissions to access the files on the hard drive.

I suggest that take you the files and folder try to access.

To take ownership of a folder

    (a) right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.

    (b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

    (c) click on Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (d) click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

    (e) If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the check box Replace owner subcontainers and objects .

    (f) click OK.

  • Try to migrate from the hard disk for ssd drive

Hello, 4 days ago I bought dell inspiron with windows 8.1 5748 and a 1 TB hard drive.

I also bought samsung 250 GB of ssd drive 840EVO to replace the disk of 1 TB of the laptop. I cloned the HARD disk drive and restored the image in the ssd drive and when I mounted the SDS disc and shot to the top of the laptop I got an error that it cannot detect a drive... Press F2 to enter setup F5 for diagnostics and F1 to reboot.

First I made sure to rise properly. After I checked I entered the bios where I noticed that the drive is recognized in the details of the system. The model was correct, the capasity as well. Fashion was ahci.

I ran the diagnostics and they couldn't locate a drive.

So, is this an incompatibility? I checked for updates to the bios and I see I m to date on that. The player is surelly ok as I have tested on another pc...

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Add1ctiv3,

We recommend that you use the recovery disks that are you ready when you got your system to restore the image of the original on the SSD hard drive. Since they have the same size, it should work without problem.

  • How do you know if the hard disk controller is damaged or it does not work?

    Hello

I would like to know how you can know if the hard disk controller is defect.  is there some tools for it or a way to test it.

    I have thouthg my self for a solution like this;

-If I take the hard drive that is not working out pc and attach it to the speaker and the speaker set on a PC then I wil first hear the rotation of your drive hard so that when the PC wil recognizes the external hard drive as a hard disk and then the controller is OK, otherwise it means that the controller is damaged.

. I know mechanical problems with a hard disk, they do some sounds when they turn.

is the way I think it is the right way to know or there is much better way to find out if there is a problem with the hard disk controller.

    Thank you

    Johan

Small circuit board is an interface for cables that sorts what is happening in the place where. It holds the drive buffer and it tells the computer what it is, i.e. drive, speed, brand, model, size etc.

If you get an error of hard disk controller, it's a motherboard problem and there is no way to fix it.

Hard drives fail for two reasons...

    1. The platters inside are deteriorating to the point where they are no more able to maintain the structure of the sector/cluster.
    2. The spindle motor breaks down.

The part of a disk hard less likely to fail is the interface card, unless he is accidentally cut on the computer case or other metallic surface. If this short, you will know that the smoke resulting hard disk is acrid beggars belief. It is almost the only case where the interface will fail.

Even when a hard drive is subjected to temperatures beyond its limits, the spindle motor bearings will fail way before anything else, that's why the vast majority of the disk hard total fails is obvious because there is no vibration of the engine.

If a hard drive starts to cause problems, it is best to replace it because it will always get worse over time...

  • When turning on pc and when the acer logo appears it asks to enter the current password, I bought the recovery disk but do not get a chach to enter the bios

When turning on pc and when the acer logo appears it asks to enter the current password, I bought the recovery disk but do not get a chach to enter the bios

This looks like a utility Acer protect disk hard & possibly also the BIOS.  You will need to consult your manual for Acer.  You have configured a password of HDD that you are now trying to recover, by chance?  This recovery is not possible if the hard drive has been password protected.

If it was a Windows login screen then it would show your user/admin name and password entry area & would be clearly identified as a Windows form of the version of Windows being displayed at the bottom of the screen.

  • Why the HARD disk is partitioned into C & D on Satellite Pro C partition

Why the HARD drive is divided and how to use it?

It is important that the one that I use?
It turns into one big disk?

The manual says nothing about this.

    Thanks for any help

    Ken

    Hello

The HARD disk is partitioned and contains two partitions. The C partition is the system partition that contains the Windows operating system. The second D partition contains data drive HARD recovery.
HARD drive recovery allows you to establish the notebook back to factory settings without the recovery disk usage.

But it s is strongly recommended to create the recovery disk! The user manual provides the info on that in case something goes wrong with the HARD drive, the recovery disk allows you to recover the laptop.

Of course, you can delete the D partition if you want to, but before doing so, you must create the recovery disk.

However, my HARD drive contains 3 partitions. I created an extra. In my case, the C partition contains only system and the unique software. My files private like Mp3, movies, etc. are placed on the D second partition).
The third partition (E) contains a folder with games.
