  There have not been any CD for OS installed with systems ThinkPad has sent since about 2000.  ThinkPad systems have a service partition that allows you to recover your system without the need of discs, it is accessible by pressing the blue ThinkVantage button at startup.

  Obviously the above doesn't help if your hard drive dies on you. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to create a set of recovery disks yourself. This can be done by clicking Start > programs > ThinkVantage > create the product recovery media.

  This key is a key OEM and that means that it belongs to the version preinstalled Windows.
