where did bookmark.htm located after the system backup and restore?

My drive hard was not so much the system windows vista backup and restore function told me to back up what I did on an external hard drive.  Reference Dell comes to replace the hard drive, so now I want to recover my old internet favorite Solution Explorer (no, I never exported bookmarks to an html file - stupid, I know).  were the bookmarks or somwhere bookmark.htm file on my external hard drive and can I somehow get back them?

Favorites are stored in files URL - a favorite in a file. Search for your
hard drive for them. Type in a command prompt (type in search of start command
Make the box then right click and choose Run as administrator)

dir c:\*.url/a/s

The network port is the port on the laptop (it is not that large - look around) that looks like a large phone connection.

    Hello

The WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file is the file of database of WinMail. You will not be able to backup and restore that easily. You should back up the registry keys and the entire message store and no not only the database file. The WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file is only the database and does not contain messages. The messages are in the same directory, but under the directories that correspond to message folders in WinMail. Old Windows Mail would be apt file to search for.

For more information, you can consult the following article:

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer that is running Windows Vista

Completely remove iTunes and do a clean reinstall by following the steps below.

Note that you cannot 'upgrade' from Windows XP to Windows 7.  If your computer hardware is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 7 drivers are available, you can install Windows 7, but this operation will require a new install of Windows 7.

You can use Windows Easy Transfer to copy your data, but not your applications.  Applications will need to be reinstalled from original installation media.

To perform a "clean" iTunes installation uses this technique proposed, from Support of Apple HT1926 article.

Warning: uninstall utility for cleaning Windows mentioned in the instructions below has been removed from Microsoft download servers because sometimes it seems more removed he was supposed to (I think that this phenomenon was linked to the bureau uninstalls).  You can still get utility Windows Installer Cleanup--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html here is a free alternative Revo Uninstaller. Before using these cleaning products, you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT).  See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm a complete disk image would be safer if you have this ability.

  • XP system backup and restore for XP Mode in Windows 7 Pro

We have many customers finally replace their XP computers with new systems, but some require old software XP can easily be upgraded or replaced.

We can always clone their slow HDD to a new SSD in a new system and repair the hard disk controller, but then they still run XP.

Does anyone know of a Windows XP backup procedure (NTbackup, System Migration tool, Acronis image of the system, etc.) and then on a computer installed Windows 7 Pro with XP Mode, restore the backup to the computer in XP Mode?  In this way, they have Windows 7 for new software and can easily "initialize" their virtual XP machine?

Would seek essentially to restore a mirror image of XP so that programs are intact.

We could do something other than XP mode too - VirtualBox or VMWare would be nice too.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

I have a four-year-old desktop HP Pavilion p6226f and am on Windows 7. A few days ago I had to restore my PC to factory conditions. I backed up my data files through the process in the Recovery Manager, on 3 DVDs.

    Update, December 30, 2013:

Although Jaco has been more than helpful with this issue (read the thread for lots of great ideas and he provided information), I marked by error this issue having been resolved while he was not. I don't know how United Nations brand it, if I add this note.

I thought, when I got the link to get instructions from HP, I got everything that I had to this summary. That was not the case. So, my apologies. I shouldn't be marked as resolved until what I had followed the process to the end. I'm still stuck in the same exact spot.

I use Windows XP Professional and is trying to create a system recovery disk using the backup and Recovery Wizard.
I backup all the info on my laptop on an external device.
The wizard said at the beginning that at the end of the process I will ask you to insert a cd to create a system recovery disk.
In fact it asks me to insert a cd.

  • DVD how much we need for the files backup with backup and restore program?

    Hello how are you?
DVD how much we need for the files backup with backup and restore program? Y at - it large differences in the time and space between write backups on DVD and external hard drive?

I do not understand your question.  Asked how the space has been used on your C: drive and you answered 60 GB.  Now you say your PARTITION C: is 60 GB with only 20 GB used?  I really don't understand what you're so confused.  It's simple arithmetic grade 3rd.  What is space you USED on the C: drive, that multiply by 0.7 to obtain the amount of space will be used on your backup disk after compression.  Divide this number by 4.7 and round.  That's how many DVDs you'll need if you insist on the use of DVDs for backup.  Then

    (1) If you are using 60 GB, the answer is (60 x.7) / 4.7 = 8.936.  I rounded up to 9 and added 1 just to be sure.

    (2) If you use only 20 GB, the answer is (20 x.7) / 4.7 = 2.97 rounded up to 3.  Add 1 and get 4.

If you use only 20 GB, I am very surprised, because almost any important installation of Windows 7 is going to take more than 20 GB.

All of this assumes that you do NOT use the Windows backup and restore program, but one that I recommended.  When I used the windows one, the results were several times the space that I used on my C: partition.

    Good luck.

  • How to backup C40 - No. backup and restore in the Maintenance menu

Can someone tell me how can I save C40 current version of the TC4.2.1.265253 software?

I found a document showing that this is possible thanks to the "Backup and restore" option in the menu of maintenance, but there is no "Backup and restore" option when I go to the maintenance menu.

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards.

You must update your system to get the option "Backup and restore" - I can't remember in which version it was introduced however, but given the current version is TC7.1.4...

You can easily backup the configuration if you have a MSDS, but if you haven't, then you can download the codec xconfig file using PuTTY.
