  Thanks for the test that. If the UI works correctly in safe mode, but not normal Mode, the main suspects would be:

  (1) graphic driver incompatibility
  (2) extensions

  At the address #1:

  Try disabling Firefox to use hardware acceleration:

  "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

  In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

  This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

  At the address #2:

  Try turning off all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

  • CTRL + SHIFT + a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

  In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete).

  Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

• Where are my "Tools" options in windows ff 8? I am trying to access my formfiller add on.

  I have a new laptop to windows 8. I added filling form for easy use. I can't find. When I look in firefox for the options tab there is no 'tools' option where I assume that these new editions would be stored. Can anyone help please?

  I just installed 11 elements. I grabbed the text and look for options of text (font, size, etc.). With the selected text in the window and the text selected in the toolbar tool, I click on "tool options" at the bottom of my screen, and a panel will open. This is where I expect to find the commands I'm looking for, but the only thing that is in there is a little impenetrable icon. Nothing happens when I click it. The behavior is the same regardless of the tool is selected. Any ideas?

  Go in Edition > Preferences > General

  Click the button to reset the prefs, then close the program and restart.

  I am running windows xp sp2 and I put my site to dowload under (Tools/options), but when I select an MP3 file to download, firefox does NOT copy the file to my location of choice on my HD - instead, it opens a new window with a 'player' of fortune and starts to load the player with the MP3 file. The problem is that I have no idea where on my system, firefox has copied this file, so, I can't leave and come back later and read this MP3 file using winamp. I need to hear right then or lose - if I close this new window (with this puny little ' player'), then I lose the download, there where to put firefox on my PC (I have no idea where it is). It's all under firefox 25.0

  I also use FIrefox 12.0 on an older windows 2000 machine and that works perfectly - I can download any MP3 file, I want to, and downloads of firefox 12.0 (on win2k, sp4) to my location (on my HD), and it gives me the download window so I can watch its progress and have some control over break and resume , and, when it's done, the download window offers me the option 'open containing folder' so I can make sure that where I wanted. In other words, Firefox 12.0 on WIn2k, sp4 works better than firefox on winxp sp2 25.0! What gives? I went through and set up my options for XP just like I did with Win2k and everything looks good, but firefox 25.0 don't know just my chosen and always default place to give me fortune player and I am not able to actually copy the mp3 files on my hard drive - it's firerox almost unusable 25.0 since downloading mp3 files is a big part of my use firexfox - please help. I am not able to upgrade windows at this time, and since firefox 12.0 still works fine on win2k, I do not understand what has happened to firefox?

  You can delete a master password by changing the current password and let the fields for the new vacuum to MP.

  I have email address of brand in tools/options/saved passwords. When I used google to search for 'hallmark cards', using Mozilla Firefox 12.0 the result showed my email address in a box ready to be clicked... I don't want to see my address email located by googleand displayed by firefox on a search page. I want it displayed when I go to connect on at Hallmark Cards so I decided to make a link to the page, but not when I just google the name Hallmark Cards!

  This usually only happens if these data are stored as saved form data because that data are not specific to a web page, but only for a specific form or id name, so it is quite possible to get the same suggestions on other web pages if the names of the input fields are the same.

• I do not see the accounts of my password under Tools > options > securityTab > Showpasswords

  Until probably the last week, I was able to go to tool-> Options-> Security and click "Saved passwords". I can still do it, but when I hit "show passwords" that is displayed for the account and website fields are this: «...» "without the quotes.

  Is this a change in firefox or something is more harmful in progress? I can always use the search bar to find the accounts, but it does list representing the passwords are part.

  Check if the width of the column "Site" in the "Saved passwords" window has not inadvertently been shorted at least 3. Hover over the divider between the column for "Site" and "UserName" titles and drag it to the right.
