Where is the update of Firefox 19.0.1?

Last night (27/02/13), I had an alert update to Firefox 19.0.1 on my laptop Sony running Windows 8. I installed the update. I don't have this update alert on my desktop of Windows 8. When I checked the site Mozilla today Firefox download is always communicated 19.0. That's happened?

Firefox 19.0.1 was for Windows 8 only, so it does not appear on our site.

  • My new sites pinned tab only display full-screen mode. What happened only since the update of Firefox.

I have my best sites 'pinned' to the new tab. Since the update of Firefox do show that the first four sites (top line) and I can't drag/release those missing bookmarks.

I have just discovered that the sites are still there but only appear when I select the mode "full screen".

Is there a way I can restore the page to show two lines of pinned sites without being full screen mode please?

It seems that there is a regression with 39 Firefox on the new tab page. A bug report has been filed on 4 and the triage team responded.

I saw the same thing with the difference in mode full-screen during the test of this "change"; the 'missing' line appear in full-screen - but with the resolution of my screen, I could see two rows of tiles, the 3rd rank was not missing mode full screen.

Overall, I think you should try the new tab extension tools and see how you like it.

I use that in a number of my Firefox profiles. Profile where I checked this problem which has been mentioned in a number of discussions of the forum over the weekend that I use rarely - I use it see how Firefox works as "installed", before making a change.

  • Downloaded the update for Firefox, and now I can't get rid of AOL.

Downloaded the update for Firefox, and now I can't get rid of AOL. I tried to remove anything that is related to AOL and when restart Firefox... There are once again AOL. I even reinstalled Firefox... He was there again.

Where AOL is displayed - homepage?

I think the first thing to check is if you have any modules related to AOL. These can replace your regular settings. You can view and disable all extensions essential or unknown here:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

Note that in most cases, you should use the link to restart Firefox to actually disable the extension that you have chosen to disable.

Then, to fix your homepage, try the procedure described in this article: How to set the home page.

If there is a problem with your suppliers of research from Google for AOL, try this extension:

I'm not positive on the version 11, but with the current version, you click on the name of orange Firefox at the top right of the screen, then help then on Firefox.  Alternatively, you can just go to the following website: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/update/

  • What to do before the update of firefox to keep the previous bookmarks, untouchable preferences?

You guys can provide instructions as X steps before the update of Firefox, in a clear way, not with a bunch of text, for the elderly like me to follow? I had nice Firefox and neat, LMDE updated and now it's like a cool program. I tried to recover my profile, but it did not work - had an error message.
So, it would be nice to find an article (roughly what do before the upgrade) guiding the user to manage the profiles before update/upgrade.
Please make these instructions available (easy mode) before the disaster occurs.
    Thank you very much.

  • How to roll back the update of Firefox 29? I hate it.

I got the update of Firefox 29. I don't like it and removed features (for example, the bar add-on). How to restore? I have to completely uninstall Firefox?

Hi netscaper, several years of research with users went into this redesign, but of course you may not all agree on the same thing.

As a small non-profit organization, Mozilla doesn't have the means to do everything herself. Firefox has since always the philosophy of trying to keep the lean browser and allowing for customization through modules. Sometimes the ride is bumpy, but generally you have several ways to do the job.

If there are special features that are essential to bring back into the product itself, please give your comments here:

  • Did the update to Firefox today and now problems with Comcast

I did the update to Firefox today. I am able to connect to Comcast, but can't stay connected. I go to the home page, it tells me that I'm not connected, so I go to the log in page, log in, and it brings back me to the home page showing that I am connected. When I try to access my emails, instead of taking me to this page, it just brings back me to the log in page. It also does it when I navigate anywhere on the site. Help!

  • How to get Firefox to check the compatibility of the addon first, then ask me if I want to continue the update of Firefox?

How to get Firefox to check the compatibility of the add-on first, then ask me if I want to continue the update of Firefox? The update process currently only told me that an add-on has been disable after you apply the update to Firefox. Options > Advanced Options > switch to the update tab, "Warn me if this turns off one of my modules," doesn't seem to work.

This is an add-on that does this.

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/

More specifically, what modules are always appear as incompatible after a Firefox updated? Firefox 10, extensions that are made properly shouldn't be a problem, with a few exceptions.

Extension that contains a binary code must be compiled for each new version of Firefox. These modules are usually installed by applications on security Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc..

  • Since the update of Firefox, Google appears as a string of foreign characers

Hi, since the update of Firefox, as the title suggests, any google page seems just a string of characters. I had pages like this before, but only for connections to live stream. I disabled all the plugins addons and Google-related, but the problem still persists. The solution in the other thread do with subject: config (failure of the change of an option to 'true'. The only other difference to it, is that it not connecting to http more, just https. Any help?

    Hey TheDefiniteArticle,

We have followed this issue for a few days now. When he started to happen? Ask yourself if it is an update of the extension, or something.

    1. In the url bar, type about: config and press ENTER. Confirm that you be careful and move forward.
    2. In the search bar the top, past this text without the quotes "network.http.accept encoding.
    3. This should limit the values in the configuration file to a single line. Please tell me what you see in the column 'Value'?
    4. This field should be read 'gzip, deflate' without the quotes. If this isn't the value, double click on this field and paste this valley in.
    5. Restart Firefox and try a page that has had strange encoding before.
  • I keep running the update of firefox, but next time I click on my icon of firefox, it opens an older version and asks me to update. What is going on?

I downloaded and ran the update of Firefox. It said it was successful and then the homepage etc came. However, after I had closed and starts again the 'old' version came when I clicked on the icon of Firefox with the usual comment I have an old version and that you need to update. I tried this three times with the same result. I have a laptop Compaq Presario 2200.

    What I am doing wrong?

If you use the www.google.com/firefox as homepage site that previous versions of Firefox 3 use as homepage you can ignore the message about not using the latest version of Firefox on this page.

Google seems to keep this page.

The text on the implementation of the latest version of Firefox is in the code of the www.google.com/firefox site that previous versions of Firefox 3 use as homepage and it seems that Google is no longer do not update this page.

The current versions of Firefox 4 + is no longer use this website from Google as home page, but use the build-in on: home page as the home page.

Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox if you still visit this site, and warns you that you are using an older version of Firefox and invites you to update.

You can use a different page than the homepage as subject: House or www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle).

  • After the update to Firefox 6 (and 7 now), I find that some Web sites take ages to load. This problem does not occur with IE. Any suggestions?

Since the update to Firefox 6 I found that some Web sites a change upward to 5 minutes to load. The same websites load quickly on IE. I had hoped that Firefox 7 should solve this problem, but it happened. If there is no solution, I'll probably have to stop using Firefox.
