Where the bookmark icons?

Bookmarks for a long period had now mainly small icons next to the names that make it easy to find them quickly, especially when you are looking for something in the history. The last Firefox update has deleted all. Why?

  • I just downloaded Firefox and the command 'bookmark this page' does not appear in the bookmark icon.

When I downloaded, I also choose to import IE Favorites and they all appeared. When I opened the bookmark icon, the "mark this page" command is missing, so I can't to bookmark a page. Everything else seems normal. It is an old computer running XP.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you are using the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).

You can see the difference if you use Alt + F to open the file menu and other menus such as the Edit (Alt + E) menu and the menu bookmark (Alt + B) and compare that to what you see, if you use the mouse to open the menu after the bar of menus visible by typing Alt or by pressing F10.

    • "To bookmark all tabs" (Shift + Ctrl + D) is no longer present in the menu bookmarks unless you open the bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    • "To bookmark all tabs" are available through the context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
    • 'Bookmark this Page' is accessible through the context menu of the browser page.

    1. the Menu bar - with File, Edit, View, etc. - shows.

  • where the fav icons are stored in the Firefox profile? You can drag and drop on the bookmarks?

Two related issues to fav icons:

1 where are the fav icon stored in my Firefox profile?

2 is it not warned to drag an icon on an element of bookmark on my bookmarks (no icon) bar and it updated the icon? (I have a right-click on the bookmark and I couldn't see any field of fav icon.)

    Thank you

Favicons are stored in the file places.sqlite and bookmarks.

No, you cannot drag a Favicon in your bookmarks. If you drag a tab favorite icon, all that would happen is that you would be again to add the bookmark and the favicon may not be kept if it was not the first time that you have saved the first time. Try it and see what happens...

There is no field for Favicon in the context menu of bookmark. There used to be a couple of extensions available at different times which allowed users to add a favicon to a bookmark, but it's been a while that we have seen this type of extension that was compatible.

Neither have been updated after a Firefox update beat each at different times, and nobody has updated '3' a final which broke.

  • Where is the bookmark icon?

I use Acrobat 9.5.4 Cougar 10.8.3 on my Mac Pro.  I usually have no problems at all with it.  However, I imported a great book in form PDF from a reliable source.  When you open the PDF, I can't find a bookmark icon in the left column.  Only a small icon of signatures is present.

I installed the same PDF document by copying to a flash drive and then loading it on iMac to my wife in Adobe Reader on Snow Leopard 11.0.2 10.6.8 document of my wife, a bookmark icon is present.  When you click on it, a whole big bookmark is displayed showing chapter and verse.  This set is very convenient to navigate the large document.  After a lot of clicking around, I can't find how to display this icon to bookmark on my Mac Pro.  I need help, please.

  • I can't export my bookmarks because I can't access the bookmarks icon in the address bar. It is hidden so I can't go to the library where it shows the export

Described in section help export process works well on older versions of Firefox and I used this when I ran Windows XP, but now I'm on W7 and my browser does not display the bookmarks option to export bookmarks to an HTML file. How can this utility?

Firefox hides the combo of the Favorites menu button when you have the full menu bar displayed: in this case, you can use the bookmarks menu in the menu bar. Or you can switch back to the button orange Firefox (with the menu two compact columns) such as described in this article: the menu of Firefox instead of the menu bar button.

If you are a person focused on the keyboard, you can open the library section bookmarks dialog box by pressing Ctrl + Shift + b (for history, Ctrl + Shift + h, downloads, Ctrl + j).

If the site does not have a favicon then your only option for a little entertainment is to provide a favicon yourself.
You can check by opening the link in a tab and check the favicon in the tab bar.

  • Why is the bookmark icon is no longer on the latest version of firefox

When I enter the option to customize the bookmarks bar you have more an icon to view your Favorites on the left side of the screen. How can I get and place this icon?

The two buttons on the sidebar went into Firefox 29 - bookmarks and history, but they are "restored" in Firefox 30 with a button "combo".

For the time being, you can use {Ctrl + B} to open the bookmarks bar.

By turning on the menu it brings back or unchecking it and controlled again he brings. In addition, when this happens, icon menu on the far right will display all the options. Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables some settings and disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

(If you are using an additional theme, place you in default theme.)

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Mode without failure of Firefox in the Help menu by clicking on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item:

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

    Thank you.

  • How can I get rid of the bookmark icons

On the toolbar, but ALL this favorite icons. I hate them. Do not need them.

Is there a simple setting somewhere in Firefox to handle this? If this isn't the case, it might be something they would consider to add in the future to turn them off in the options or something?

The only thing I've seen so far is an add-on that removes them from the toolbar. I would like all parties in all menus of bookmark and would rather not have to install other 3rd party applications to achieve.

I'm using the Windows version 14.0.1

Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer.

You may need to create a custom style rule to change the bookmarks Menu. You can do this by using the extension either elegant or creation/modification of a file named userChrome.css in your personal settings folder (AKA Firefox profile).

Examples of these rules are included in these discussions:

  • How can I include the site in the bookmark icon, they are all blank when I bookmark on a page

I can go and change the icon to add third party icons I had besides for the site to my bookmark listings, however, I can never get the real icon for the site itself attached to the bookmark. A list of icons hidden outside, it is difficult to analyse when I'm looking through my favorite sites.

  • where the bookmarks bar

where the bar favorites with all my accounts in it

Favorites bar don't usually have accounts, just the bookmarks (Favorites), which are just shortcuts to Web sites you want to go easily. To turn on in your web browser, type Ctrl-Shift-B.
