  Check if the infrared device is listed in Device Manager!
  I'm not very well what type of tree it should be, but you should see something like irda m.
  If the the irda deivce is listed, then you do not need to reinstall the driver and there should be another reason why you can not use the remote control.

  Check everything first.

  PS: I recomedn to test the media remote running.

  I have a 2.8 Ghz Core 2 Duo iMac Leopard 10.5.4 Fusion 2.0.1 (recently updated to 1.x) running.  I have an audio interface Firewire (Focusrite Saffire) that I use as my primary audio device for the Mac.  Fusion is used as the audio device that broadcast the Windows.  I want to clarify that Fusion using the internal audio device to the iMac as device Windows plays through.  Is this possible?  The virtual machine settings indicate only that the default audio device as shown in my system preferences will be used by the merger.  Is there a setting in a .vmx file, which can be set to replace?  Thanks in advance.

  Fusion uses virtual hardware, it will use all default hardware Mac configured in the Mac system. You cannot assign all additional devices to the Virtual Machine.
