  • How can I move from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 hp? Is it better to buy the software disk or download the software?

    My Hp Pavilion Elite M9340F desktop PC was the best computer I've ever owned five computers desktop and portable three. Not only use the personal media drive Bay and two bays of lightscribe disc, I upgraded the video card and the power supply because I run also three external hard drives more (which actually a total of six hard drives run continuously).  I want to spend all or just possibly the main hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium personal multimedia hard disk.  Is it better to buy the disc or download the software?  In addition, how is it difficult to make the switch?  Even with good backups, I have heard horror stories of losing part or all of the files or have things so scrambled that it is almost impossible to find what you are looking for.  ANY help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Mr. w. Dillon * address email is removed from the privacy *.

    Hello

    It's always a good idea to have a paper copy of a disc (for resettlement and repairs).

    And Yes, backup all your data as 'can' happen during an upgrade that is supposed to be easy.

    This is a very good guide for what you want to do:

    Make sure you go from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit to be able to do an upgrade.

    «How To Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium»

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/6892/how-to-perform-an-upgrade-from-Vista-to-Windows-7/

    And follow these steps first:

    Go to the HP website and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

    If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

    Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=20

    Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

    "Windows 7 system requirements"

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

    "Windows 7 Compatibility Center" for software and hardware:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

    Windows 7 upgrade paths:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772579 (v = ws.10) .aspx

    And the Microsoft Store where you can get an idea of the price of Windows 7:

    For other questions about installing Windows 7, there is a Forum specifically for that because it is the Forum of Installation of Vista, you're in.

  • Is it better to buy a wireless printer or a bluetooth printer?

    I would like to know if its better to buy a wireless printer or a bluetooth printer?

    Hello!!

    A wireless printer works faster because it has a data transfer speed faster than a bluetooth printer. So if you go with a bluetooth printer remember that printing may take a little bit at the end.

  • Which way is better and why?

    Hi all

    I have a table named DOC_DETAILS in which annual is NUMBER and primary key and DOC_TYPE is a type VARCHAR2 (20) and a nullable column. This table contains 40 columns altogether and have about 45 000 records. This table was used heavily in the application and now we are to avoid to display one of the doc_type (say 'DELIVERY') data to the front end application, although this type exists in the database.

    For this I intend to create a non-unique index on this column and then I here are two options with me. Please suggest me which option is preferable in terms of performance. Please consider that this table has been used widely in many procedures and views.

    Option 1:
    ======
    I can create new view as below and replace the doc_details of table name with that name from view in all areas of the application.

    CREATE or REPLACE FORCE VIEWS doc_details_vw
    AS
    SELECT *.
    OF doc_details
    WHERE doc_type! = "DELIVERY."

    Option 2:
    ======
    Open each procedure and see in which doc_details table is used and add below where appropriate at the end clause of the where clause.
    doc_type! = ' DELIVERY

    Please suggest me which option is best in performance wise. If code maintenance wise Option 1 is better, I'm trying to figure out which option is better in terms of performance.

    Thanks for reminding me on version. Here it is:
    Oracle Database 10 g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit

    Thank you.

    Hello

    In terms of maintainability option 1 is better than if there are other conditions that can occur at a later point in time, that you can include in the view.

    If you are concerned with performance, then by replacing in the places where you use the table will be advised, in case of an increase in the volume of data the views and the query using views can degrade performance.

    The use of any software third than remove/change registers is not recommended by Microsoft. I suggest that you don't waste your money and rely on the built-in utilities provided by Microsoft and anti-virus, you can download and use Microsoft Security Essentials, its free and effective.

  • Which laptop is better INTEL CORE I5 - 4210H or INTEL CORE I7-4710HQ?

    So I am planing on buying a laptop but a problem. Here are the specs:

    LAPTOP 1-

    INTEL CORE I5 - 4210:
    8 GB RAM
    HARD DRIVE 1000GO
    NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 860M
    15.6 screen size of
    Memory type DDR 3 L
    Type of IPS display
    1920 X 1080
    2 GB OF VRAM
    4-2. KG
    COST: 1 650

    LAPTOP 2-

    INTEL CORE I7-4710HQ
    8 GB RAM
    512 GB SSD
    15.6 screen size of
    TYPE OF RAM DDR 3
    Type of LED display
    NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 860M
    4-2. KG
    Cost: 2, 350

    Laptop which is better? The cost difference is very big, so I need a legitimate response. I'll be using this laptop for navigation and a little heavy play. Video editing, maybe in the future.

    For me, the key is the processor and in the above case I would seek to i7, but it has a very small hard drive. It's all a personal choice depending on what you use the laptop for.

  • say oracle which plan is best?

    It's pretty easy in 10g to get the history of the plans of execution and the execution of the query statistics, and it is often easy to do the wrong plan of the right plan, especially when the user complaints coincide with the plan that uses a lot more gets per execution. I see the sql_id, I can see the plan_hash_value for the effective plan, why can't I just run a function that says "associate this plan this sql_id always until I tell you otherwise. Yes, I know that there could be more than one optimal diet for some queries, but I've seen many cases where there is an obviously better plan for all entries - plan B meets there are no complaints of slowness, when the plan C is used users call technical support. All I need is to get oracle to understand that sql_id one works best with plan B.

    Maybe something like:

    DBMS_STATS.create_profile_from_existing_plan (sql_id = > x, plan_hash_value = > y);

    would affect the dba_hist details *.

    This may not be so difficult to implement, can it? Why isn't she condition / supported? How it would be difficult to implement using the oracle function calls?

    Thank you.

    Thanks, I'm familiar with the contours, because I don't want to attempt a record while trying to get just the right combination of sql text and statistics and inputs to get the plan I want. In this case, the optimizer has already found the right plan, but it does not always stick to the plan. I could change statistical techniquex, but I want a local solution. I am familiar with the sql tuning advisor, but it never gives me good advice. I can rewrite sql, but not for applications that allow me to change the source code.

    If I could get this information for a good plan for a particular sql_id/plan_hash_value from v$ sql * maybe I could put a plan into a sketch.

    So, I wonder why this apparently simple feature is not available, not for advice on how to use more complicated features. That does not mean that I don't appreciate your ad this interesting URL. I think I'm just lazy (in a good way, I hope) that you are.

    The answer to my problem of sporadic performance is sitting right in front of me. The optimizer has already produced results, with one or more bad results. The answer does not need to be recalculated or re-evaluate or analyzed once again - there is a problem previously solved. I want Oracle to remember the solution when I tell him that sql_id A and plan_hash_value B should always be together. The information that is already available must be addressable in minimum terms (sql_id, plan_hash_value), so that the desired plan is always associated with the query that is problem.

    It would be useful in cases where there is more than one optimal diet.

    dbms_no_cbo. Marry (sql_id-online x, plan_hash_value => y);

    My apologies, but I saw your post now. The desperately desired functionality is already there in 10g using stored outlines. Note that the CREATE_OUTLINE procedure has been added in 10g, it wasn't available in versions pre - 10 g.

    CREATE_OUTLINE Procedure

    This procedure generates an outline from the shared cursor identified by hash value and child number.

    DBMS_OUTLN.CREATE_OUTLINE (
       hash_value    IN NUMBER,
       child_number  IN NUMBER,
       category      IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'DEFAULT');

    Of course, SPM in 11g replaces it, but this should do what you are looking for in 10g.

    Another approach a bit heavier, would create a SQL profile using two functions/options undocumented, but it allows to refer to plans stored in AWR which is not possible using above approach.

    The interesting feature of SQL Profiler is that they allow to match similar to the feature CURSOR_SHARING SQL, i.e. replace literals with bind variable before attempting to match the SQL text. See the FORCE_MATCH setting below.

    Step 1: Get the information in map mode of the shared pool or AWR

    Note that the PREVIEW option is undocumented. You can also use the ADVANCED option (undocumented, too, but look here: http://jonathanlewis.wordpress.com/2008/03/06/dbms_xplan3/):

    Shared pool:

    SELECT * FROM TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR('', , 'OUTLINE');

    AWR:

    SELECT * FROM TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_AWR('', , null, 'OUTLINE');

    This generates the plan of execution and SCHEMA information which looks for example like this:

      /*+
          BEGIN_OUTLINE_DATA
          IGNORE_OPTIM_EMBEDDED_HINTS
          OPTIMIZER_FEATURES_ENABLE('10.2.0.3')
          OPT_PARAM('query_rewrite_enabled' 'false')
          OUTLINE_LEAF(@"SEL$2")
          OUTLINE_LEAF(@"SEL$1")
          INDEX(@"SEL$1" "I"@"SEL$1" "I_OBJ#")
          INDEX_RS_ASC(@"SEL$1" "IST"@"SEL$1" ("IND_STATS$"."OBJ#"))
          NO_ACCESS(@"SEL$1" "C"@"SEL$1")
          LEADING(@"SEL$1" "I"@"SEL$1" "IST"@"SEL$1" "C"@"SEL$1")
          USE_NL(@"SEL$1" "IST"@"SEL$1")
          USE_HASH(@"SEL$1" "C"@"SEL$1")
          INDEX_RS_ASC(@"SEL$2" "CDEF$"@"SEL$2" ("CDEF$"."OBJ#"))
          END_OUTLINE_DATA
      */

    Step 2:

    Generate a SQL profile using above information in OUTLINE view. Note that the IMPORT_SQL_PROFILE procedure is undocumented.

    begin
    dbms_sqltune.import_sql_profile(
      sql_text    => ''
    , profile     => sqlprof_attr('','')
    , name        => 'PROFILE_name'
      -- use force_match => true
      -- to use CURSOR_SHARING=SIMILAR
      -- behaviour, i.e. match even with
      -- differing literals
    , force_match => false
    );
    end;
    /

    A code snippet how could be combined in one automated SQL * more script, the parameter is the SQL_ID:

    declare
      ar_hint_table    sys.dbms_debug_vc2coll;
      ar_profile_hints sys.sqlprof_attr := sys.sqlprof_attr();
      cl_sql_text      clob;
      i                pls_integer;
    begin
      with a as (

  • Is it better to buy an iPhone from Apple or Verizon?

    I am under a Verizon service plan and it's time to update my iPhone. It is better to upgrade to an Apple store or Verizon?

    If you intend to stay with Verizon then you can get your phone it - there is no difference in the games only sold by either and Verizon phones are GSM unlocked so you can use them on Mo T or AT & T if, at some point down the line you want to switch

    If you have a data plan unlimited inherited from Verizon that you want to keep - obtaining your new device of  may be the way to go

  • Better to buy a new computer to repair?

    I am a disabled veteran and needed something to keep my mind and body busy.  Her husband is also a disabled veteran, but he doesn't have an interest in computers and games. He of more the kind of fishing.  We have been able to buy two computers on a year and a half after a tornado struck us, and our House was classified as a total loss.  Unfortunately, as much... we were underinsured and couldn't buy a new House so we worked on the reconstruction of our mobile home ourselves and made a few purchases like computers.  The computer that I had at that time there was shattered, and nothing has been left to work on. I've always used games and computers to deal with my disability so became quite nervous about not having a.  Yep, I'm an old lady, playing games.  However, we had another tornado hit close last week, but not directly.  A lot of lightning and power exploded about a day and a half.  When I was able to again turn on, the computer sounded like he was taking off.  I rebooted and the noise subsided, but I could tell that something was wrong.  I found the small device of 'hot spot', that I use to access the internet had come close to exploding.  Looks like the lightning entered the outlit, crossed this device, through the computer, then back to the zone reactive. Fortunately, another hotbox and another computer so I went online to do some research.  I have this one fed up to see exactly what he was doing.  It is not nearly the speed he was seized, and when I go to a gambling site, I can't get the load pump took.  He behaves as if there is not enough memory.  I disassembled the computer but nothing fixed on what the problem was.  I think it's something in the motherboard or possibly the CPU? I could not find anyone who wanted to work on a whole in a touch that was almost all integrated on the motherboard.   I looked for a restart but just do not see.  I used to build computers, but stopped when the technology was faster than my ability to learn. I take a person who manufactures computers, but said, that he would not be worth the cost of replacing motherboard and need to replace.   He said something that I've heard of a few others that I wasn't going to find an easy fix for this and the cost is probably higher to repair and replace, but to buy a new one that was technically up-to-date than my Aspire is.  I checked out the website and see that there is a computer is more oriented game than this particular model and when I add the cost of a monitor, it is still not as much as I paid for it!  My insurance company told to get some quotes for repair and they would cover the cost, but I wonder if it would be better to go there and to opt for the next model upward?  I know that I have a little time to get the information that them... and do not know what I have to do.  Someone had their computers break down and the cost of repairs is more than buying a newer version? I guess it would be better if I tell you what computer I have.  It is and ACER Aspire Z3101U4062, 1 TB hard drive, 4 GB of DDR3 memory, Windows 7 Home premium, AMD Athlon IIX2 240th double heart proc., NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics, DVD Super Muilti one Multi card reader drive, Lan integrated 10/100/1000 & wireless network, has no upgrade to Windows 8, but had the ability to do it since I bought the right to the computer before winning 8 came out.  I added more memory and had didled to the registry to speed it up and was looking to upgrade the hard drive and thought I'd go with a quad core, but when I checked the stats, all the rest will need to be upgraded too.  In any case, I use my HP lap top that well with the game but I preferred the desk top.  Oh the monitor is a 21 1/2 inch touchscreen multimedia Full HD 1080 p.  I was also wondering if there was a trade in the program but I couldn't find anyone who would make up a trade.  Geeze, I reread and it looks like I'm babbling! I'm going through the forums and do research more.

    Thank you to have an answer so quickly.  But, alas... I guess that just, it wasn't meant to be.  I did a recovery without success.  Fortunately for backup... discs would have taken to always for some applications load again.  Has chosen to not load at all since she had no adverse effects or positively.  I have a laptop that is more suited for games with its i7 2 TB HD, 8 GB memory and so on so forth.  I would have liked to try a water cooled computer, but right now it would be just something I'm going to dream.  At the time wherever I can afford something like Alienware, my grandchildren have grandchildren.  I went with one of the techs that I showed earlier computer showed me a game that really made me drool and I can build myself.  Oh sure... When my ship comes and checks in the mail and it won't hurt a lot and I'll be back in a few minutes and I'm sure that I turned on the stove top until I leave the House... all is proving to be the reality instead of... Oh nvm... you know what I mean.  After making a recovery here made me realize that I have to clean the lap top and make new spiffy as.  I usually do this once a year and clean it like we did in MID.  Yes... I know.. military intelligence... I have to go to work on the car with my husband right now, but will be back to read some more of the forums.  There will are much smarter that I am and I see so many good advice... but I must read more.  Thanks again

  • which plan to choose?

    Hello. Sorry for my English, I write with the help of Google translator. I wonder if it is possible to rent 'the plan photographer' and 'individual plan' (for Adobe Illustrator) with the same Adobe ID. What I need is hire Lightroom, Photoshop, and Illustrator. What would be the plan that is more convenient to do?  Thank you!

    Yes, you can buy Lightroom and Photoshop | Plan of creative photography of cloud to Adobe and one Creative Cloud app price and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud of the same Adobe ID.

  • It is better to buy a new or fix the old one?

    Buy a new one:

    -New first price 1249 euros

    How many years does he work?

    -Old one on eBay... The best model for the cheapest price...

    To bring back to life:

    My computer is an iMac since mid-2007 24 inches

    -Find and buy the same hard driver because the former does not work anymore... (price?)

    -Put 3 gigabytes of RAM for my computer and a person must be (price?)

    -OS X Snow Leopard 20 $

    -Updated to the latest version of Leopard

    -OS X Lion 20 $

    See if it works, maybe not...

    How many years can he work?

    Witch of the option is most interested? I live in Hong Kong on Lantau Island, so delivery are very expensive...

    Only you can answer that question, but I'll be happy to give you my opinion.

    A. person cannot predict how long a new piece of electronics could last, last few years a lot (your iMac 2007) some last few.

    B. I bought two Macbooks off of eBay, was undesirable the other was great. When you use eBay is caveat emptor (buyer beware) you never know what you get and you will not have your money if it is not what you expect.

    C. While the replacement of the hard disk and ram are not particularly difficult jobs if you don't feel able to do labor costs could be high. RAM for a 2007 iMac will also be costly. Fully upgraded a 2007 iMac will be four versions behind and not taking in charge security updates.

    If I were you I recycled this old iMac or sell as does not and investigate a refurbished iMac the Apple Online Store. They are completely renovated and carefully tested, come with a one year warranty and the extended Apple Care warranty purchase option and are sold at a discount.
