Who should schedule jobs via DBMS_SCHEDULER; User sys or Apps?

Oracle version: 11.2.0.3 on RHEL 5.4

We must plan a few stored procedures running in an applications using DBMS_SCHEDULER schema.
This would be held by user Sys or Apps? If its user Apps I need to grant execute privilege on DBMS_SCHEDULER to the apps user and I would like to know if it is a good practice?

Yes, you must use the apps account with run on DBMS_SCHEDULER.

SYS cannot be used if it is absolutely required - for example uses SYS calls that are not available on other accounts of database.

    Hello

    Re: executable dbms_scheduler errors

    I use Oracle 10.2.0.1.

    Thank you
    Anjan

    You can create the position of OEM Planner (Business Manager)

    Logged in as SYS to EM
    On the Administration tab > Scheduler option > link jobs

    Then create the job, you will find the OWNER under the NAME field, create the work by providing appropriate parameter values.

    Take a look at this below

    BEGIN
    () sys.dbms_scheduler.create_job
    job_name => ""ADMIN"". "" TEST_JOB' '.
    job_type-online "PLSQL_BLOCK."
    job_action => ' begin
    -Insert here the PL/SQL code
    end;',
    start_date-online systimestamp to the time zone '+ 6:00 ',
    job_class-online "DEFAULT_JOB_CLASS."
    observations-online "test job"
    auto_drop => FALSE,
    enabled-online TRUE);
    END;

    In your scenario that should be: job_name => ' 'your_USER. RUN_DDL_JOB"", "
    change the prefix of your code, the i.e:user_name of schema name that you want to run the task

    This problem is related with the privileges on the work of the Planner, when your job owner is SYS, and if the user HR has no privilege to run the created SYSTEM of jobs, he is unable to perform this work as HR.
    by creating employment by above way you actually create work for your user name and give him the privilege to run.

    You should look at these privileges below

    JOB SCHEDULER OBJECTS: The following privileges are necessary to perform procedures in the DBMS_SCHEDULER package.
    CREATE JOB to create jobs, schedules and programs in the scheme of the dealer
    CREATE ANY JOB create, modify or delete jobs, schedules and programs in any schema
    Note: This extremely powerful privilege allows the recipient to run code as any other user. She should be granted with caution.

    RUN ANY PROGRAM use any program in a job in the scheme of the dealer
    EXECUTE ANY CLASS specify no job in a job class in the schema of the dealer
    SCHEDULER to MANAGE create, modify or delete no matter what group of class, window or work

  • work as user SYS have password on the computer of the Oracle

    Hi all

    my need is to work as user SYS with the Oracle server administrator password. I am beginner in Oracle administration. I have no password for SYS. But I have administrator access to the Oracle server. What should I do to restore the regular user password?

    Thanks in advance.

    Are you able to connect as a Windows user who is in the ORA_DBA group?  If so, you should be able to connect as SYS without password.  From a command line, you can

    sqlplus / as sysdba

    If you do this, you can restore any desired password.

    And exactly what you would achieve by doing this? And who else you think should be able to make the closure of the db if not the Sys user? in any case, the answer is a No . It is not possible.

  • Failure to logon with the user SYS: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

    Hello

    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production
    AMT for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

    OS: CentOS 5.5

    I can't log in with the user SYS via PL/SQL Developer. I get the message: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges. PL/SQL Developer is installed on Windows 7 Professional. Version of the Oracle Client is 11.2.0.1.0. However, I connect successfully with SYSMAN and SYSTEM.
    For those who may wonder if I try to connect 'as sysdba' when I use the SYS user, the answer is YES, I do.
    In addition, I think that the name of the tool (PL/SQL Developer) does not matter because I think I'm going to face the same error with any other tool (but I mentioned just in case).

    Server side, I have no problem with the SYS user. I can connect via SQLPlus with connect / as sysdba or connect "virtue sysdba" without fault.

    The sec_case_sensitive_logon initialization parameter is set to FALSE
    SQL > show parameter sensi

    VALUE OF TYPE NAME
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
    SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON boolean FALSE

    I use the local name to connect and client side, I have a tnanames.ora file. The sqlnet.ora file looks like this:
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)

    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)
    I read in this forum (another thread) on the use of a password file. I created a password file using orapwd this way:
    orapwd file=orapwDB11G2 entries=100 ignorecase=y password=a_password
    where I replaced "a_password" with the SYS password.

    In fact, I'm not sure that the customer is influenced by the file password anyway because I said to use a local naming.

    Clues?

    Thank you very much!

    So your ORACLE_SID is planet but not DB11G2 , second password file must be located in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs location if you want to connect the planet of database/sid and therefore

    orapwd file= $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapwplanet password=syspass

    Then try again.

    The question is very clear. Please try what I said.

    You connect to the application tier that I see ORACLE_HOME tip to 10.1.2 ORACLE_HOME.

    If your installation is user 2. I mean Applmgr and Oracle DB level for the Application layer, respective files set environment.

    If it is single-user installation, set file DB APPROX.

    Your $ORACLE_HOME should point to DB Oracle Home not 10.1.2. Its should be 11.2.0.

    • Once echo $ORACLE_HOME 11.2.0 points. Home page, then give sqlplus "virtue sysdba".
    • If you connect to 10.1.2 House, give tnsping DB name and uses user applications to connect.

    I can help you to identify the users, if you are still not able to solve.

    Now I have to import (with datapump) user USER01 and export USER02. But I don't know the name of the source database tablespaces.

    I want to keep the name of the user (USER01/USER02). That's why I created these users in the target database.

    The questions I have are:

    -should I start the import by datapump as user SYS?

    -Should what settings I use to import users USER01, USER02 and data in the target database? Since I do not know the names of tablespaces

    in the source database parameter REMAP_TABLESPACE will not help

    Any help will be appreciated

    J.

    Hi J.

    The questions I have are:

    -should I start the import by datapump as user SYS?

    No, you need to import with a user in the role of "imp_full_database".

    -Should what settings I use to import users USER01, USER02 and data in the target database? Since I don't know the names of the storage spaces in the source database parameter REMAP_TABLESPACE will not help

    Well, an idea is to generate you a schema import sqlfile and see in the ddl in what tablespace, it will try to create objects.

    Impdp------' / as sysdba------' directory = dumpfile = = = USER01, USER02 patterns sqlfile

    For more information, take a look at the import documentation

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/dp_import.htm

    Hope this helps,

  • Who should own oraInventory when you have the separation of the roles (grid and oracle)?

    Version of grid Infrastructure: 11.2.0.4

    Platform: Oracle Linux 6.3

    For the separation of roles, we have created a grid and oracle users.

    grid-> to manage the network infrastructure, which includes ASM

    Oracle-> to manage the RDBMS

    GI will be installed under the /grid mount point

    RDBMS will be installed under the/U01 mount point

    Who should be the owner of oraInventory in such a scenario? grid or oracle user

    Where oraInventory should be placed? Under Mount /grid or/U01 point?

    Who should be the owner of oraInventory in such a scenario? grid or oracle user

    Better choose grid if you use the separation of roles.

    Where oraInventory should be placed? Under Mount /grid or/U01 point?

    As long as oracle and grid users have rwx privilege on the inventory directory, you can place on a consistent OFA or nearby location OFA compliant.

    Personally, I prefer/u01/app/oraInventory

    Approval should look like below

    $ ls-l/u01/app/oraInventory

    drwxrwx - 6 grid oinstall 4096/u01/app/oraInventory 13 August 2012

    Its better for itself an inventory centralized for GRID_HOME and ORACLE_HOME. It is easy for opatch auto work properly with a properly configured central inventory.

    The grid and oracle users must have the Oracle inventory group oinstall as their primary group, so that each owner (grid, oracle) Oracle software installation can write on the central inventory.

  • Allowing a scheduler job

    Hello

    I have a 10.2.0.1 development database in a windows environment. I did a scheduler job that runs every minute. Since it is a dev server, our developer tried to simulate a scenario that changes the date of server at a later date. Now, the last run of my regular job (as queried from dba_scheduler_jobs) was a date in the future and when the date of server has been reduced to the current date, work has ceased to run.

    How will allow labour to run again? According to the dba_scheduler_jobs, it is always enabled.

    Published by: Tim B. 10 July 2012 01:48

    Try:

    BEGIN
       dbms_scheduler.disable( '' );
       dbms_scheduler.set_attribute( name => '', attribute => 'repeat_interval', value => 'FREQ=MINUTELY;INTERVAL=1');
       dbms_scheduler.enable( '' );
    END;

    1. How can I connect to the SYS account despite the confinement. Is it because I have connected via external authentication?

    you are the owner of the HOUSE of the ORACLE, you need to connect. Yes its because of external authentication.
    Of course you can not connect the user to the system. Have you tried?

    2. don't lock the user SYS standard practice? If so, why?

    Depends on the security, some cases, a user will be created with DBA roles.

    By default no. But you can activate the API Reports Server queue PL/SQL
    There should be a script in the folder of OH / reports / / admin/sql server called rw_server.sql
    It will create table and package. After that, you must edit the .conf file and remove the tag "jobStatusRepository".
