  Sorry, but you will not be able to fully restore from a Time Machine backup except if your Mac has a hard drive that is big enough to cope.

  If you can not install a larger hard drive in the Mac, then your only other option would be to use the Migration Wizard on a Mac and only fly over the Documents and other data... not the Applications and other system files.

The weird part is that the sticker is there, the number of correct image is there, and when I click to display in the Explorer in Lightroom, it pulls up the JPEG right, if the location is OK in Lightroom, just no thumbnail image and no image size when I go to open it using the Windows Photo Viewer. I checked the other games that I shot and it's happened to almost all games.

  If you have pictures on your camera cards, then of course you can simply copy them to the appropriate locations.

  There are plug-ins in Lightroom that can recover the preview using Lightroom, but these will be smaller and lower in quality than the original. Perhaps one of our plug-ins experts can suggest the good plug-in.

  If the hard drive goes really wrong, as I suggested, you definitely want to be replaced. If this is the case, you won't continue to use it. You might want to run some diagnostic disk on this subject.

  FWIW, do not change the extensions of file simply by copying the files to an external drive.

  If you use your iMac as a backup to disk using Time Machine look for a folder called Backups.backupdb.

  It's what keeps you upgraded your operating system, you must remove it.

  Copy everything first if you are on a different drive. It would be wise to create a backup of the iMac on another drive also.

  Check system preferences > Time Machine and make sure that the iMac is not selected as the Time Machine drive.

  I think that the whole operating system will be restored in a new virtual machine... I have it... The changes will have to be done in the file listener.ora (hostname or IPADDRESS and also PORT NO in case you want another port as the existing one). Once you have made the changes that you have to bounce the listener, I mean stop and start the listener... I don't think that any other changes are needed... Make sure that the same need for entries (from the listener) to be included in the TNSNAMES file. ORA file both client-side... The tns service is used to connect to the remote database server (from the demand side or whatever source you used to connect to the database server)... I just think that the change to do...   My computer no longer recognizes the firewire devices that I connect to it.  The Device Manager shows the driver 1394 work very well.  I even deleted and reinstalled Windows XP.  My external hard drive so my camcorder are more recognized when I plug them cold or hot plug.  Two of them have worked very well for more than 4 years and now for some unknown reason, that they stopped just recognized.

  How can I get Windows XP to see again them?   I've tried everything.

  Or you can export the complete catalogue on an external drive and place it between the computers.  The catalog file is on the external hard drive, and all you have to do is double-click on it.

  Font book handles only the fonts that are present in one of the folders of fonts on the startup disk. It can disable these fonts, but it won't work as a custodian of the fonts installed also. I would have suggested using a symbolic link to the folder fonts on the external drive to ~/Library/Fonts, but apparently that no longer works: allow to use symlinks in ~/Library/Fonts

  I'm not sure of the method that you use to access your external drive, but regardless of the type of drive, it's (portable hard drive, USB key, etc.) they are all accessible fashion.

  It works on all versions of Windows.

  Connect the USB hard drive. A driver installed the first time you use it.
  

  Click Start, then computer and double-click it to open it.

  If a new drive icon does not appear when it is connected, your computer does not recognize the drive and so you will have to go through the steps of troubleshooting of the error.
