Why can't I apply a gradient fill to a line segment?

I created a line segment using the line segment tool. Then I changed the brush in arrow. I select the arrow and and drag the gradient shade I want to the described area to change, but it just turns black. I am able to change the arrow to any solid color, but not gradients. I have attached a photo if this will help. Sorry if this is not clear at all. Any help is appreciated!Screen Shot 2014-06-06 at 3.42.29 PM.png

I would say just to develop the arrow, and then fill, but that's just me.

What you describe is typical of a PDF form that has been used and corrupted by the application on a Mac. An outdated version of Acrobat or Reader will not cause this. A less likely possibility is also corrupt forms PDF, Microsoft Reader, but in different ways than the preview.

  • Line Segment tool does not select the last line! Why? CC 2015

I regularly draw several segments on the right with the line Segment tool, then convert them to a live paint. This often requires that lines are tangent or overlapping. In CC 2015 the last segment of the line remains active and the line segment tool switches to a tool "to rotate/move", by drawing a line tangent or closely placed impossible without '' if. '' How can I disable this 'new' and return to the line Segment tool I like in CS 5? Yes, I am trying to embrace the new, he does not cease of themselves in the way of productivity.

You can not turn it off. Ask us for an option you can disable 'Keep selected', as you can for a brush.

Feature requests are CC 2015 in the Help menu.

  • How can I create a new gradient based on the current fill color that I am applying it?

I often need to add gradients to shapes that already exist and already have a fill color. I want to add a gradient that would be a mixture of the color that is already there and the black.  Gradients of new totally ignore what existed before. Is it possible to include the fill color that is already there in the slope?

In fact, you can skip the step of swatch. You can drag the fill color directly from the toolbar at the appropriate end of the fitting band gradient in the gradient/panel palette; Then, apply the gradient. Be careful, though - you can end up creating a new unwanted color along the gradient stop.

  • How to remove the logo of gradient fill

    Hello

I use Fireworks CS4. I have to remove music stave logo on the left of this image in the header, but it's over the gradient fill.

    header.jpg

I have no access to the original images. I thought that I could do with the stamp tool, but I can't get the colors to match. Can anyone help?

    Thank you

In fact, I don't know why I don't think first of this approach:

    1. With the selection tool, select an area of the gradient to be your "source of duplication."
    2. Copy (command-C) and paste (command-V) as the selection of a new bitmap.
    3. Use the arrow keys to position the image horizontally and vertically, following the angle of the gradient. (Hold SHIFT to move larger increments.)
    4. Copy the 'clone' and reposition to cover more of the undesirable object. And keep repeating.

It's just a start, but it should get you close. You will probably need to clone at least one more large surface and can try feathered or masking, as well. In addition, to better see how the clone is blending with the background image, choose View > hide edges. (This disables the blue border around the selected object.)

  • Apply the gradient to the text, cs5 as Classroom in a Book

I need to create a title in a document, only one topic above.  I use Win7 32 bit and cs5 and the book, Classroom in a Book.

I'm on page 310 where 'Of Mike Coffee' is the text tutorial.  I converted my text to path outlines, then grouped characters.  From there, however, the script (or I) seem to get lost.  Step 4 says "it's worth a white on black gradient.  Yes, he does.

However, I want to start with a bright red, back to almost transparent, and I can't follow the instructions here - enter the colors in my control panel.  No, I have not loaded this lesson and this is probably why my swatch and Panel does not match the book.

I have to take responsibility for this lesson, start over on it to simply apply a gradient to a single word?

  • Gradient fill to each individual character

Can you fill in each of the individual characters with a gradient, I get black when I try (the black guy with a chosen letter). When I create outlines of the type I have what I need (crushed with a radial gradient in each letter). I like to keep this editable type.

    Picture 2.png

Select your text with the selection tool. Apply the effect > path > describe the object. Select the individual letters with the text tool. Apply and customize the gradients freely.   Note: This is different to apply a simple gradient on an integer object by creating a new filling and which apply a gradient. In your case, there is no need of a new filling (but the gradient editor is not available... adjust you the gradient of the Panel).

  • Live Paint can't paint a smooth gradient across many faces?

I had a picture to show what I would. I have a compound path, and it happens that several faces in the live paint group. I want to apply a gradient to a few different faces at the same time that goes with fluidity in the next.

It works with a template file, but not with a gradient for a reason any.

Maybe the question should be "can I combine several sides of a live paint group for a filling to fill all?

    http://imgur.com/HvwLE.jpg

    Thanks for any help.

I could draw a bunch of boxes.

Then the live paint > make shift select each with the live paint selection tool.

Then use the tool of Grad out grad from the center of all.

This does not work for you? Or am I missing something?

  • Gradient fill letters editable Type individual, is - it possible in Illustrator?

I applied a background gradient to the point editable text via the appearance palette, but this applys the gradient of any type as a whole. Is it possible to fill out each individual letter of type with a gradient without conversion to outlines?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    mjatharvest,

    You can:

    (1) DirectSelect the base line and the baseline only (so that no bounding box shows);

    (2) effect > path > describe the object.

    (3) apply the gradient;

    4) enjoy.

If it is an ordinary instance of textfield, you can still exclude the background (textfield.background = false) and draw a fill behind it to give the impression of a graadient barrier.

  • Apply a gradient to my object generates a mosaic pattern.

    Hello

I don't know how to explain that and have had problems trying to find for help because I don't really know how to describe what is happening.

I created a diagonal gradient that I have applied to a rectangle with rounded corners. I added the gradient to the Swatches palette. I then created another rectangle that was immediately filled with the shade of gradient. However, the created gradient was rectangular and align not with the object, thus creating a pattern in mosaic of the sample inside the rectangle. Attached image "gradient.jpg" shows the first (normal) gradient and the second gradient (Mosaic).

I have moved the rectangle and observed that the gradient did not move with the object. It's as if the gradient is stuck to the page and so the model of tiles changes depending on where I move the rectangle.

Anyone know what is happening and how can I get rid of him? I want just a rectangle with a constant slope through the fill.

    I use Illustrator CS4 win.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Steven

You want to make a gradient that will not tile? OK simply delete the nuance you have done dragging select the original gradient filled rectangle or it could filled nay of a gradient of shape and go to the swatch Panel and in the dialog box select new nuance.

Then it will apply as a gradient fill as you expect it to be.

But do not forget the drstging thing, falling, you might need as well.

TW, what happens when you drag the rectangle filled with the gradient is that it also copies the path if the path had a stroke that make part of the track and so when you fill an object with the path that it tiles. simply reproduces the path again and again.
