  Can I remove internet explore and use chrome instead? That is, crashes, to stop, resarts and slows my computor. I installed Google Chrome and have had no more problems. It opens and closes when I want it and going to the Web pages as I type in without hesitation. I like windows 7, I only have a problem with Internet Explore. It also caused changes in my modem. I need to uninstall the software and reinstall to get it working again.   It is not really a way to remove Internet Explorer.  I have not heard of the type of problems, you had with IE, but if you prefer Chrome and who works for you, all you need to do is to make Chrome the default browser.  I use Firefox and make it my default browser.  Once you make Chrome default you just leave Internet Explorer installed but it won't get used.  Following comes the site help Chrome and tells how to do it by default: http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95417

  1. start Internet Explorer.

  2. Select Tools > Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.

  3. check if "enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)" and click OK.

  4. close all Internet Explorer Windows.

  5 restart Internet Explorer.

  Hi, I saw another post on this subject, but the answer did not help unfortuantely.  I have a new laptop Lenovo with Windows 8, and when I try to create a new subfolder to save a document in using right click, it hangs for centuries and then finally replaces "resposnding".  It is not compatible 100% that I managed to create new folders, since I've had the laptop.   Same problem when you try to rename a folder - anything that requires a right-click.

  Is this a Windows 8 'thing '? Anyone know some stuff to fix?

  I'm not used to the favourites being in a Panel on the left or right side of the window of FF. I use tabs for the places I visit and use Roboform to complete registration for a particular website of my choice. All the bookmarks that I desire in Roboform and rarely use FF bookmarks.
  Firefox is a wonderful tool and I use it exclusively, but sometimes they invented something that is detrimental to the way one uses to work. Personally, I don't like their ad to bookmarks where the update has placed.

  You can close the bookmarks bar via its close X or the shortcut Ctrl + B key.
