Why computer turns itself back after having paused?

This computer (HP Pavilion Slimline model # s5107c, product # NP212AA-ABA, build software 93NAv6PrA3) works on VISTA Home Premium-64.  He had a virus that required the technician back up my files and clear everything and reinstall VISTA and my files.  Since then when I put the computer in standby mode, it lights automatically come back after a few minutes.

I can find the settings for the computer to pause after so many minutes, but can not find any setting for the computer turning on itself.

Help please.  Computer technology was not able to help me so far.

Found this step online. Hope this works for you.

Go in > "Screen saver" > "Change power settings" > "Change Plan settings" > "Change Advance power settings" > "Media settings" > "When Media Sharing" > and make sure that the setting says "ALLOW the COMPUTER to SLEEP".

If you want just a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. • Why my computer turn itself

I have the computer gateway 64 bit, window vista Home premium a year ago.

    Hi Ben xero.

Check the answer above and since your question is also on Facebook, check these:

Facebook has had a lot of problems.

Try to add to your trusted sites in IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - Trusted Sites.

    https://www.Facebook.com/

    http://www.Facebook.com/

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER
on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause
    strange problems).

If no joy there's something blocking perhaps.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

    not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, it is no longer necessary but Java
installs and it causes more questions - have you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again.) Search
    other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right.
Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program, ask
    topic here.

Could be a free - BHOremover - BHO - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run.
not all are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

  • Satellite A200 turn itself right after I turned on

I have a huge problem with my laptop.

After turning on when the windows status bar shows it shuts itself. I don't know what to do. I remember that I was installig Vista SP1 and 2 and after another, restart the related problem. Please could you help me?

    > But I checked the temperature with SpeedFan, and I realize why it blocking down. Base temperature. are above 90 (degrees celsius!) after windows starts (couse sometimes it lights, for example when it is not used for a few hours) without the stressful situations. It's just I don't know what is cousing the problem. How is the temperature going if high right after windows logs.

I think that the laptop automatically stops due to this high temperature
Maybe the fans and cooling rack would not be cleaned in the past and the dust and debris to prevent cooling modules work properly
The dust should be removed all first you can do it by using a jet of compressed air.
I did it several times and it worked for me.

The temperature of the CPU can be different and is dependent on the use of the laptop but 90 c is really high, and this may cause a stop down

  • A computer turns off automatically after a disk check?

I recently received messages to a disk check on my computer where I have to press any key to stop so I was request made a check disk automatically shut down the computer after that it's over? And also everything happens automatically I want to leave my computer at night so that it ends because, I heard that they take a long time to finish, because it has all the steps 4 and 5.

It will not use a system reboot, unless you set the box to solve problems & it's the hard drive of the system.

If you set this box then it will ask if you want to check hard disk errors the next time you start your computer.

If you click schedule disk check, and then he'll do his analysis before the competition start in Windows, the next time you restart the PC.

  • Invisible to Visible to the Invisible - boxes filled to the turn invisible back after save/close

    Hello

I spent the greater part of these hours couple is trying to develop a work around to my current dilemma.

I have a dynamic PDF that has a bunch of invisible fields in it.

The user, by the entrance of a drop down menu, triggers a javascript switch that sets the visibility for text fields in the form accordingly.

The form itself works very well at the start. But when one of my users save the PDF with informed information (using the player with extended rights)... when the file is reopened all visible fields redefine their presences on default (which is invisible). No data is lost, it looks like the flip flops back to the invisible presence.

My workaround solution provided has been to build an event Doc: ready that will be used to check each field invisible when the file opens, then set it to visible in the non-empty fields. However, I had difficulties with the text fields, properly assess.

    If

    (DocumentAffected1.length > 0) { }

    DocumentAffected1.presence

    = 'visible' ;}

I tried length RawValue... used '0' and ' "... and nothing seems to work."»

Is there a better way to check if my text fields are given? And if so, could you give some examples of code?

I'm not a coder strong. All my Javascript was pinched from examples elsewhere in this forum. But it's nothing more simple if and switches.

Looks like you need save the State of your form as well. You can do this through code, or you can leave the product to do so. As file/properties, click the default tab and choose the button radio on the preserve of script changes automatically option.

Wow, I thought that I already asked the question. ??? I recently re - set up my old computer from last year. Everything went well on it. All my programs, files, photos, email and internet wall works very well. I went to shut it down and Windows Update popped up indicating not to touch or power off the computer turns off automatically after Windows updates were installed then... There were 22 updates installed by Windows Update and the computer is down. I waited for 6 or 7 minutes and turned on my system back to see nothing load, my monitor screen educated on and said to go to sleep! If someone can tell me what Windows has done to my system. Why they ask me to pay for something that they obviously screwed and how to contact a live person who can help me with their question? PLEASE, ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Original title: windows password problem

This just started today. When I log on to the computer after having paused, it says that my password is incorrect. Caps lock is disabled and the password. Then I hard boot my computer & it will take my password. What's happening & how to fix it? Help please.

What do I do or what can I change it to something like a real password?

Now that you have at least a password that works you must run your own experiences. You might have a problem with CapsLock, NumLock or a few keys that misbehaves. Change a letter/digit at a time until the password fails, you must point in the right direction. We cannot do this for you.

Here's how to get safe mode:
Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly press F8 key until you see a black and white screen.
The top/down arrow and select Mode safe mode with command prompt.

  • Computer turns off automatically

    Hello

my Windows Vista laptop turns off automatically. This isn't a standby automatic regular, Hibernate or shutdown. The computer will just empty. When you try to turn it back on, the message that "the computer was not properly extinguished" sometimes appears.

This auto disable happens irregularly. Sometimes it seems to happen more often when the computer made the task more or heavier. But the computer seems to be overheating.

Someone has an idea what could be the problem and I can try to do about it?

    GRT, M

Suggestions only. I may be far away...

    1. If this problem started not more than 10-15 days ago, and if you remember a time when you did not have this problem, please do a system restore. Choose a 'good' day as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

Note: In most cases, do it in safe mode system restore is more preferable.
Here's how to get safe mode:

Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Safe Mode.
    2. If it is not an option, going to Safe Mode > selectlast known good Configuration and run it.

  • Why my internet accounts automatically get disconnected after that my computer turns off by itself?

I have a Compaq PC with processor Dual-Core AMD Athlon X 2 5000, and it runs Windows Vista Edition Home Premium... In my view, that is running Service Pack 2. I use the computer to check my e-mail, my YouTube and Facebook accounts (and possibly other accounts spread I connect to).

I usually use Internet Explore to browse the web. Sometimes my computer turns off by itself due to overheating. But whenever when this happens, when I turn my computer back on and return to the use of the Internet, I've totally frustrated to find that all my accounts were automatically disconnected!

Even when I check these boxes to keep me connected to these accounts when I turn on the computer again after a successful stop, my accounts still get disconnected!

It only seems to happen when my computer turns off by itself without stopping... mainly due to overheating. When I turn on the computer again after a successful regular stop, my accounts are automatically saved on once again, due to activate me "Keep me connected" by checking these little boxes. But after a situation when the computer is off all the time (either by himself for a reason, either by me with strength to turn it off when my computer crashes), my accounts do not remain.

How can I prevent my accounts automatically be disconnected so that whenever I start the computer, after it turns off by itself, my internet accounts turned on? There must be a patch for this embarrassing situation here on the internet.

Perhaps because an improper shutdown / forced can inpact on different parameters.

Your must not PC in all cases be having heat problems, you need to fix this (heat) before it turns into something terminal
