No AppleTV support for Bluetooth keyboard?

I just bought the new Apple TV (4th Gen) only to find out I cannot pair my Apple's Bluetooth keyboard (as I have with the 3rd generation) & now I'm constantly escaped thanks to enter my long password to access anything! What is happening on Apple?

At the moment the ATV4 does not support Bluetooth keyboards. It's not been announced whether compatibility is likely to be added in the future.

  • HP 10 G2: HP 10 G2 auto connect/pair for bluetooth keyboard

How can I configure my HP 10 G2 to recognize and automatically connect to bluetooth keyboard?  Everything works ok, but I don't remember the process to put in place.  No problem pairing or connection, but I remember configuration to automatically detect and connect.  Help, please.

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Normally, if you don't have any peripheral BlueTooth enabled is close and turn on the keyboard, the right must find each other and connect (if a successful matching has been done previously).

I am now typing this on my old Palm BlueTooth Folding keyboard on a Tablet HP Pro slate 12 5.1.1 Android running.  She was immediately after I turned it on.

Looking for paired keyboard settings, I see no such "connect automatically".  He just needs to connect.

  • HP Compaq DC7900 SFF - no support BIOS for USB keyboard/mouse

I recently bought a lease out vintage 2009 DC7900-Windows 7 Home Premium running. It has connectors from the motherboard and BIOS support for a PS2 Keyboard and mouse. There also card mother support for USB but apparently BIOS does not support a USB keyboard and a mouse. Y at - it a BIOS update that adds support for USB keyboard and a mouse?

    Thank you

Well, I found what seems to be the problem. My USB keyboard and mouse are connected to a KVM switch that in turn connects to the HP PC. The KVM cable provides keyboard and mouse via a simple USB connection. I have connected a second USB keyboard directly to another USB port, and as you say, the BIOS it supported. I then connected the USB keyboard and mouse for a simple USB hub and then to the HP PC, and BIOS does not recognize the keyboard once more. It would seem that the problem is that the BIOS of the PC HP does not support keyboard behind a USB hub connectivity. I have no detailed knowledge of USB connectivity but could guess that there must be a difference Protocol when I hub is in the Middle – obviously the PC must focus on a specific device behind the hub.

In the end, I think I'm stuck just keep a separate keyboard (PS/2 or USB) around for those times when I need to communicate to the BIOS.

I have another PC of the same vintage - a custom platform - and it handles the keyboard behind the hub very well. I wonder if all new PC BIOS handle this.

Thanks again for your responses - very useful.

  • XPS L502X w / Intel chip support 6230 Bluetooth * 2.1, 2.1 + EDR, 3.0, 3.0 + HS: any stereo Bluetooth headset, headphones, etc.

I want something to make me pass stereo audio using the Bluetooth radio already in my laptop.

I bought a pair of headsets Plantronics BackBeat go.   They could combine with the laptop, but then in the next step, Windows (7 Home Premium) Impossible to install the appropriate drivers.  I went through all the suggested windows troubleshooting nothing helps.  I called Plantronics technical support.  I was told that I would need to buy an additional USB adapter at home, so I send you the earbuds back.

I asked Dell sales support they recommend, but the only thing they could find available from Dell needed an extra USB adapter too.  In addition, it is mono.

I really want to commit something that won't require a USB port for an adapter since the computer already has the Bluetooth hardware.  Ideally I'd like a small dongle that allowed the use of speakers, headphones or earphones.  Otherwise, I would consider dedicated Bluetooth headset or headphones.

I'm not interested in the device with a microphone or telephone control, but if that's what it takes to get other features I want, I would consider it.

Anyone succeeded with this question?  What works?

    Thank you

    John

I solved my problem audio Bluetooth!

My laptop Dell L502x supplied with Windows 7.  But Windows 7 has no native support for Bluetooth (a2dp) profile for the use of stereo headphones.  The helmet would pair with the laptop, but wouldn't connect.

    I found these helpful instructions

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-hardware/how-to-pairconnect-Bluetooth-audio-device-to/fb49798d-9fb5-451F-95FC-301f8f76942b

After checking the Windows Update and the Dell support site pilot for new drivers, I finally had to resort to the manufacturer's website.  Because the laptop has an Intel 6230 chip, I used the Intel driver update utility to

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/default.aspx?lang=eng

who finds these two updates relevant for me.

Drivers for Windows 7 and Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software
    Wireless_16.7.0_s64.exe

    and

    Software Intel® PROSet/Wireless technology Bluetooth® for Windows 7 *.

    Following the instructions here.

    http://www.Dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/KCS/KcsArticles/ArticleView?c=us&l=en&s=DHS&docid=268873

I chose first to run Wireless_16.7.0_s64.exe.  After then running BT_3.1.1311_s64.exe and restarting, I accompanied my headphones to the computer and was finally able to connect.

It's a shame that Microsoft does not include a2dp with Windows 7.  I have an iPod touch and a winning machine 8 effortlessly connected to my helmet, since they have a2dp built in.

    Well, I'm just happy, there's a solution.

    Hope someone finds this useful,
    See you soon

Being a user forum no one here would know 'when' or 'why' Apple decides to do something.  You can send feedback to Apple property http://www.apple.com/feedback/

I bought mine on the day of release and did not "want" for keyboard functionality. But can understand why some users like you might be frustrated by the loss of functionality. personally, I don't think that's a reason not to buy the unit, but everyone should be aware, in which case it has no bearing on their decision.

  • Microsoft Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth problem

I have had and used the Elite and Intellimouse keyboard for many years.  My keyboard has recently developed a problem. I am able to recognize and install it, but it does not 'Connected', such as the IntelliMouse. Or it does not show recently used. The only information shown in the Bluetooth Panel is Microsoft Keyboard and password activated.

The mouse shows Microsoft Mouse, no password, connected.

When I select the keyboard and click on properties, then on services, the drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (HID) box is not checked. I check it, then hit apply, and I get the error Service Bluetooth "access denied."

I was able to install the keyboard on another computer and it works fine.  The support of bluetooth and bluetooth services seem to work fine as well.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the keyboard and the mouse and the mouse still works fine but no resolution on the keyboard. I am running XP SP3 on my computer, and it has all the latest updates and drivers that I can find.  In addition, I was the software updates when the keyboard stop working.  Very well, I was typing a moment and the next day, that he had just left.

    Suggestions on how to proceed?

After almost 7 months together trying to figure out this I finally got mine to work! After reading the post from Yawp73, I didn't uninstall my old version of Microsoft Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth and reinstalled the latest version of Microsoft. When I went to add devices and I saw the keyboard icon, click on it instead and press 'next' to put in the passcode, I right click it and went to properties, then services and CHECKED the box for the drivers for keyboard, mice, etc.. After hitting applied, my elite keyboard started working without even putting a pass code! YES! THANKS Yawp73!  I really hope that it works for everyone because this question drove me INSANE! Good luck!!!
