  I have made changes to the photos in a folder using Adobe CS6 via the Camera Raw in Adobe Bridge CS6.

  However, when I open my Lightroom 5, all the changes that I made in Adobe Bridge CS6 has not shown in Lightroom 5.

  How do you make Lightroom 5 recognize changes that I made in Adobe Bridge CS6?

  You don't have to choose a file, after you issue the command... you select images in Lightroom, then the metadata-> reading metadata from the files and metadata are read in the picture file on your hard drive.

  I'm having the same problem, so I click on 'Properties' for the Sims and changed to 'XP Service pack' or 'Vista' and it worked OK, until the game started to freeze every 5 seconds.

  Then I went to a forum of Sims and someone said that the graphics card may be overheating, and you must use the "force-sync" or something. I don't believe, but because I have a Nvidia GForce with dedicated 2 GB memory and a processor 2.4 and I'm still having hard.

  I think it's Windows 8 and of course Microsoft does not care, I read the answer they sent you, "sorry to hear that you do not have Windows 8. What a joke!

  If figure you it out, please let me know because manufacturers are not any help!

  Yes, use the Adobe's DNG Converter to convert the owners of the raw files to DNG raw files. Then the LR4 will be able to read.

  I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.

  I have experienced the same problem and advice from Adobe fixes it-

  If Lightroom remains present in the task manager then try this procedure.

  Procedure-

  1. Make a restart/re-start computer
  2. Open Lightroom
  3. Open the Task Manager. (CTRL + ALT + DELETE)
  4. Right click on the App - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom-
  5. Select "see details" «
  6. Right click on "Lightroom.exe.
  7. Click on "set priority".
  8. Set the priority to 'high'.
  9. Close the Task Manager.
  10. Close all programs and restart the computer
  11. While you open Lightroom - reset the preferences by pressing [SHIFT + ALT].
  12. LR control closes correctly.

  Nothing to worry about. It's the same for everybody and it's normal.

  Lightroom does not follow the version numbering (again) Cloud. She always had her own version numbering.

  When the cloud came out, there was no included Lightroom.

  Added Adobe Lightroom to the cloud later but never added CC to the numbering. So yet another layer of confusion has been added to the management software Cloud versions.

  There are now two separate versions of Lightroom:

  • 5.6 Lightroom (perpetual license, does not include Lightroom Mobile)
  • 5.6 Lightroom (a cloud which includes Lightroom Mobile)

  Have you shut down / turning your Mac off... power off the USB drive... Connect the drive to the Mac... start up the Mac... then, turn on the USB drive?

  If no help, there are a number of posts to the thread in the forum El Capitan of support from users who have problems on their Mac USB.  You can post there to see if anyone has the answers.

  I guess it's a matter of how you look at it. I'm not the creative cloud like something that I have to pay for ever. It seems to me a monthly fee to make sure that I always have the latest Lightroom and Photoshop. But do not subscribe to the creative cloud. You can certainly buy Lightroom 6. It has essentially the same features as Lightroom CC. It lacks some features that have been added since its launch. But this isn't really a problem because there will be an another upgrade in another year or so that you can buy that will have these features. There is always a cost involved with the software. It will always be updates and upgrades. And if you want to keep up to date with the software you are using then the price must be paid. It's a bit more expensive to subscribe to the creative cloud that is to buy upgrades as they arise. And if you prefer not to upgrade which is all the better with respect to the pocket book is concerned. I'd rather spend a little extra to always have the latest features of Photoshop and Lightroom. If this isn't worth it for you, then you can consider buying Lightroom 6.
