Why Dreamweaver?
I currently use Nvu for everything that I need so far, but everyone tells me that Dreamweaver is just so much better. Can someone tell me why I don't want to spend hundreds on Dreamweaver when Nvu is free for me now? This isn't spam honestly, I'd like to know. Thanks for any help.Aaron

Aaron,
Personally, I can't answer your question. Because you really got your hands dirty or having a hands-on experience with Dreamweaver 8. But I can tell you one thing, Dreamweaver is creation of high-end, professional web application. It could be something you're not used to. But once you have between your hands dirty under the hood of Dreamweaver.
One thing I like the best about Dreamweaver works with data-centric applications where Dreamweaver allows you to work with data-driven PHP/MySQL websites. In addition to data-driven web development, one of the most beautiful features on Dreamweaver works well with CSS.
Perhaps you should evaluate Dreamweaver for 30 days to try and it speaks for itself. I think that you won't be disappointed by giving DW8 to try for 30 days and play with him and strongly encourage you to develop static draft and another with data-driven site, so you'll understand what is Dreamwevear all about.
Note: Dreamweaver also works with ASP, PHP, Cold Fusion and several other data-centric applications as well.
I think that Dreamweaver 8 is webdesigner or best investment to the web and active developer.

Why Dreamweaver cannot have an interface of type Muse
Why Dreamweaver cannot have an interface of type Muse so we can have only one program instead of two, most of the features of Muse are already built in Dreamweaver. I think that the advantage of having the two harvesters will benefit all users at all levels. It would be very fair to be part of the presentation of the workspace
They have two completely different programs, designed for two completely different audiences.
Muse is essentially a new GoLive and should remain its own program, separate from DW.
Combining them would cause half Adobe target demographic to lose their collective minds.

Why Dreamweaver cannot connect to my remote server - I use ftp.
I made changes to my site (I am a user of type copy / paste, without a lot of knowledge... but enough to get what I need). I use a Mac and I have Dreamweaver CS6. I downloaded a few pages of changes successfully. Then, I tried to download the next page and received the message that Dreamweaver could not connect to server - with a list of possibilities of why I couldn't. I had the help of my website host support team and they have been able to connect to my ftp server. I was also able to connect by typing in ftp.website in Safari - however Dreamweaver does not connect. I went through all the troubleshooting tips, which were extremely easy to follow and I have upgraded to Dreamweaver. I can not connect. Anyone had this problem before. I'd appreciate some advice.
The time I saw is that the username and/or the password is not correct. I recently had just the same problem and I didn't have my correct password. Get with your hosting provider and check (types each on independent) these two. I have big fingers.

Why Dreamweaver cc have mySQL with the behavior of server errors when inserting records
I'm busy trying to follow a YouTube tutorial on creating a Dreamweaver CC registration/login in site.
I use my localhost as the server for testing. Everything is connected and works fine.
But when I check my registration page (which has all the form fields in there and linked to my database) in my browser it shows errors on mySQL and MySQLi
the form works again when I fill it. All data load still in my database.
I don't know much about coding which is why I use Dreamweaver as it does for me automatically.
Because DW login scripts are extremely outdated and are abandoned in the new versions of PHP.
Adobe has actually decreased the scripts of the program completely, partially because of this problem. You will need to update to mySQLi or PDO, that can be done with an extension fee of DMXZone or created manually.
As far as I saw, Adobe didn't update/reintroduced modern login scripts in DW.

Why dreamweaver wants to replace my existing css file when you create a new page
I created a Web site and I can not dreamweaver to accept my existing css file when I create a new page in the same Web site. I click on file, create new page, I select page fluid and in the lower right, click on the link to an existing css file and click ok, but dreamweaver tells me so my css file does not exist and wants to replace my existing css file? What's happening?
Thank you guys for this report we
It's a little surprising that it is the way it is for a while now. Rather than create a fg with the attached css html, DW invites you to create a new css / replace the existing one. Why?
The part confusing here is that the "css Attach leader"offers two options.
1. fix like a normal CSS
2. attach like a css FG
If you check the preference to "Join as fluid grid CSS" (see attachment) you should not see this question.
that is, unless you attach the css like a css FG, DW treats like any other css and waiting for you to bind one another css FG
However, I'm too confused at first until I realized the difference. Hope this helps
And thank you for bringing this to our notice
.. Henin :)

Why dreamweaver takes five minutes to load when I open while other applications are not slow at all
CC of Dreamweaver takes an age to open and to close time. In fact, I sometimes force a fence in order to connect the PC off.
It could be a caching issue.
Try to create a new site definition called "blank Site".
Create a new empty document, then save it.
With the empty Site loaded in your files Panel, close and reopen DW.
What's not faster?

Why dreamweaver starts to crash when typing code or save the same... ?
Hello
When I start Dreamweaver, and I start typing the code I need to do for my site professionpower. In a few minutes, Dreamweaver becomes slow and begins to crash. Even if I type 3 or 4 words and he can minimum 20 seconds so that these words appear in the code. If I choose the option to auto-fill, same thing happens again. When I select any element of list and drag it to the code, it takes almost the same amount of time to make the code display on the screen. And until it is hanging, I can't do anything to another type.
I think it's sufficient detail to explain what is happening. Thank you to give me a valid solution for that I can work on my site professionpower.com correctly.
Thanks in advance.

Why Dreamweaver CS6 responsive web site publishes not too sensitive?
Hi, this is Mary.
I'm a NEWBIE at this.
I just finished (or so I thought) create my first website. It was created using
"layouts fluid grid ' with Dreamweaver CS6 and HTML5. I took many tutorials online.
I've created this site SPECIFICALLY to find the good in the sight of smartphone (480px and less).
The site is 6 pages in total.
All display in browsers perfectly - they look correct to the office, laptop and smartphone views.
All have been approved by the w3.org for validation.
However, now that I launched the site with my hosting company, the 'look' that I get on the
Smartphone is what you see on the desktop of the shrivelled restraint - as if none of the gridcontainer
settings are recognized.
The domain name is www.marcogliesemarketing.com
Here is the code for the container of the grid:

Why Dreamweaver 20141 open pages in mode code by default?
Even after I open a page and select view the Code and Design, the setting is not sticky, as it was in previous versions. Whenever I open a page, I have to spend my best opinion (Code and design), as it opens with only Code showing view. I must be missing a preference somewhere, but I watched several times.

Why dreamweaver cs6 is save my files as firefox html document?
Hi, I use dreamweaver cs6 on win xp sp 3 and it keeps save my files as a firefox html document and cannot understand how to stop what I have to do my ftp to upload files. It also loaded the files of my site in dreamweaver cs 5 as firefox html document. I am running firefox worm 13.0.1. Any help would be usefeful. I tried searching google and found nothing. And General help from adobe does not wok.
FYI: HTML docs are docs HTML. It doesn't matter if the associated file icon is FF, Chrome, IE, or DW. It is always a web document. There is nothing prevents you to download with your FTP client.

On a PC with Vista 32 Home Premium:
Photoshop downloaded and installed OK - but then installation of Dreamweaver will never spent about 20% of the installation.
I tried 6 times: closing & reopening Adobe Application Manager, re - download, using Creative Suite cleanup tool, try to install the evaluation version, etc.
Maybe these journal entries of sense to a person:
The newspaper is the spectacle of these 3 lines, repeating constantly the on & more (for more than an hour yesterday).
12/05/2012 20:49:57.344 [INFO] DLM. ApplicationFacade sendNotification = handleNativeDataSignal, type = null
12/05/2012 20:49:57.345 [INFO] DLM. ApplicationFacade sendNotification = handleNativeDataForCCMDownloadWorkflowSignal, type = null
12/05/2012 20:49:57.346 [INFO] DLM. ApplicationFacade sendNotification = installProgressSignal, type = null
Before that code rehearsals, there is another repetition in the newspaper - preceded by:
12/05/2012 19:47:35 [INFO] utility - the file does not exist
All advice appreciated. Thank you.
Any suggestions on what I should try then to get Dreamweaver to install? How long the installation to take - in other words, how long should I wait before concluding that the installation is still stuck?
SOLVED.
I discovered that in Program Files/Adobe there was an old folder 'Adobe Help' of some install Adobe trial, ever active. All the contents of the folder had a 2011 date - which must have picked up the new facility. I've removed and Voila!
I can't delete the original display.

Why Dreamweaver CS5 is remove my server login information?
I had a terrible time with some of the common features of Dreamweaver CS5 does not properly. Now I have another: she goes ahead and deletes my login and password. It happened five times in the last three days on two different sites I work on and drives me crazy.
What happens is that I get an error message saying that the FTP can not connect with the server. I'm in Manage Sites, and the login and password fields are empty. I fill them in, and now I can connect to the server. Then at one time random, it could be later that day, he might be the next day, I get the error message, see Manage Sites and they are white again.
I updated for Dreamweaver 8 two weeks ago and I'm starting to really, really hate this program. I lost so much to deal with things which don't work well, and it represents significant income loss for me. I got in one of the Design Collections, but plans really go back to version 8, which is not a lot of new features, but at least the things everyday functioning properly.
I am running Mac OS 10.6.4 on a Mac less than 6 months.

Why dreamweaver cannot resize columns long field name?
Here is an example
ID Make Offers
{offers.advert_id} {offers. O_Model} {offers.from}
As you can see, ID has a long name, which means, corresponds to the length of the field
Why can't reduce the width of the table less the length of the name? ID is only a short runway after all
* Note. It is only the design view, live mode view is very well
Thank you
Adam
You can't do it because the table cells automatically expand to accept everything that is within them. Design mode is only a guide to what a page looks like. Live View or test in a browser is the only way to see how a page in fact.
