Why FireFox fails recently block pop-ups?

Recently the pop-ups began to appear. The content parameter is to block pop-ups. I used CCleaner to "clean" the hard drive and do a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials to try to get rid of the problem. But today, I always get a pop up telling me that my computer will not support playback of a video, making, it will support. My operating system is Windows XP with the latest upgrade packages.

When I installed your troubleshooting window, I had a pop up telling me that there is spyware on my system. I think it is too much a fraudulent pop-up.

Hello dfwlms, this looks like a problem maybe caused by adware already on your pc. Please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove
OfferMosquito 0.9 extension - it is rather rare and could be malicious.

also, go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

  • Firefox 25.01 - blocker blocks pop-ups even after you stop it

I use a greasemonkey userscript which, on the use of shortcuts keyboard, triggers the search for all links on a Web page containing a certain keyword and them opens automatically in new tabs. The script seems to work fine except when the open links are too many (more than 5 for example), then firefox displays popup blocker bar and prevents the opening of all the other links. I tried to add the site to list exceptions and even disable the blocker, but he keeps blocking the tabs even though the exceptions list shows the added site. Is there a work around for this problem? Any suggestions? Help, please.

    Thanks in advance.

It is possible that you are having this pop up maximum (the default is 20).

Say I want to post an article to pinterest I can no longer use the button downloaded on my bookmarks toolbar to do this, a shield appears next to the url. I have not tried Firefox 23 yet, so I don't know personally with the shield icon. However, I think he can do refers to "mixed content", i.e. the introduction of insecurity in a secure page.

The shield look like the one shown in this article: mixed content blocker hit Firefox Beta!.

  • Even if I blocked pop-ups under Options, I continue to receive continuous op - ups.

Pop up continues to occur in large numbers when I use Firefox. I have Norton 360 as a protection program, and Norton spent more than an hour of cleaning and protection of my computer, which is a laptop with the Windows 8 operating system. If there is no way to control the pop - ups and other interference, I'll have to stop using Firefox.

    Hello Philipp,
I think that the problem of pop-ups has been resolved, but I still need to perform some additional testing. I don't have to phone Norton for more problems, and they have helped tremendously. Thank you.

  • How to block pop ups

    Hello

Today, while using other programs on my laptop, I have pop ups of the internet coming on the screen.

I have not had this problem before and I don't know how to stop them.

I checked in Internet Explorer and pop-up Blocker functionality is still on.  I also run McAfee Internet Security, but the firewall is enabled always thus.

I received a message today from McAfee indicating that a file attempts to access the internet and I want to allow this.  I still say no.  The specified file is - C:\users\***\appdata\local\temp\sdq.exe.  Could it be related to the problem?

Does anyone know how to stop this, I don't like the idea of junk files that can open it on my computer?

    Thank you very much

    AstoriaBoro

Update your McAfee and run the full scan of the system and see if it detects something or not.

Try contacting McAfee, if after analysis complete this unresolved problem.

  • Why is so slow Safari and does not block pop-ups?

Just typing this message was an exercise in patience.  I constantly get the bouncing ball waiting to continue typing.

My Prefs 'Block Windows blocker' checked and yet, any Web site I visit, I constantly put in place with the videos pop up.  This behavior happened in the last months.

    I use V9.1.2 (11601.7.7).

    Thank you.

OK, I went through the suggestion of TextWrangler and found that my code was exactly the dough - in host code, so I just left it as it was.  Also, I followed the suggestion of Wacom driver and deleted my Wacom tablet driver for good measure.

    Bottom line

I think I see a slight improvement, but as I started to type this post I once more facing the bouncing ball and wait to continue typing.  On the pages Web that are long Safari blocks always upwards, but not as bad as it was before the removal of the driver.  Other tests of page Web reveals that the pages will continue to freeze without getting the bouncing ball.

It's all very annoying and I am not sure that I made real improvements to this problem.  Time will tell, I guess.

    Thank you!

  • Why Firefox continues to block all the content I want to see, including tickets, I want to buy out my favorite despite changes sites does not block content?

the program continues to block the content even with blocking function disabled. I constantly switch between browsers due to the annoying feature. I want it to stop blocking content, I want to disable the blocking, but laboriously must stop at all the sites I visit and spend time while it blocks content, demand if I want to keep the content blocking, annoyingly sinks and I must say to "remember" not to do and does it continuously , while continually annoyingly content blocks! I want him to stop doing that. I'm an adult, I'm 60 years old. I don't need a babysitter on my browser telling me what I should see and what I see, please fix this as soon as possible. Apparently disable the pop-up blocker does nothing to stop this annoying problem. Its design and its content filtering. It's illegal I think since my content I pay and I pay view all content on the world wide web. I want to stop my research of filtering and blocking content! ENOUGH!

You have an extension, the FindWide toolbar, which many view as an unwanted intruder. You should be able to disable or remove the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

For completeness, here's my method to track down and clean up bad Add - ons and other ad injectors. I know it seems long, but it's not so bad.

    (1) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the undisclosed items bundle smoker who snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Beware of everything that you don't recognize / remember, since malware often uses sounding names important or innocent to discourage you remove. Out as much garbage as possible here.

    (2) open Firefox page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

    (3) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

  • Why firefox causes 429 block too many applications on the Vimeo site?

When I try to visit vimeo.com with Firefox (version 37.0) I get a message block server called 429 too many requests. However, I can then use another browser (Konqueror - provided with my Fedora KDE plasma system [fc21]) to access the site without problem.
I tried to clear the cookies and the cache of Firefox and running in safe mode with all add-ons disabled, but he always brings the 429 error message.
    I'm puzzled. Any advice?

You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.

You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

  • Why firefox fails during the upgrade?

I have been using FF for several years. Three or 4 times during the process to upgrade FF loses open tabs and only load with a single tab (it's all right I can reopen). So, I waited for the next version 'stable' and then tried again until this successful.

I am running 19.0.2. The problem is that the upgrade creates two title bars (good name? At the top of the brower... which shows the title of the current page) and just generally looks like if effed-up top and icons are stripped, etc..

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    Thank you.

Firefox has the following 2 warning screens for known malware and phishing sites. If you click on "Ignore this warning" at the bottom right of this screen, you enter an malware to know site.

If you see something your security application, you need to communicate with them on this issue, with the name of the so-called blocked virus/trojan/malware if it is given in the warning.

If you see a screen of some so-called security application that is not installed on your system, you know, it could be malware disguised as anti-malware. Such a program is usually designed to trick you into buying, you give your credit card number and receiving nothing in return. They then your credit card number used to purchase all kinds of items on the internet.
