Why Firefox sometimes open up or move my current page to a vacuum?

Hello

I have a question where Firefox starts without there be invited to. This happens randomly when I did not focus on an instance of Firefox. If I have developed on an instance of Firefox, my current tab is replaced by a blank page (my current home page).

This has been known to occur several times within 10 seconds, or can go several hours without problem.

It does not matter what program I use (though I'm less sure about background programs).

I ran checks using the following antivirus:

  • MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
  • Microsoft Security Essentials
  • Dr. Web
  • Avast
  • TDSSKiller

Additional note: my homepage is ' subject: empty ", not the show a blank page option. It does not seem to happen when I changed the default home page, but that might have been due to the random nature of this problem happening, I can't say.

Probably you are not clicking on the files as your default browser. Some processes may require internet access, such as updates, but they do not necessarily use Firefox.

Were you using any recent remote support software that might still be active.

This sort of thing is often disturbing and associated malware.

  • Why Firefox sometimes opens a new window when I browse to an existing tab?

I often have 7 or 8 tabs open in Firefox. Sometimes, when I click on a tab, Firefox opens in a new window instead of going to this tab. I did not understand a boss when it does.

A will (usually at lower) very light movement causes the tab to "tear" / "snatch" in a new window. You can drag the tab to the window of the new window origin.

You can install this add-on to stop the behavior "tear off" / "tear off":

  • How I can force Firefox to open Quicktime. MOV in movie player?

I have a security camera that documents in format .mov video clips. I use Firefox to access the server of the camera, which lists the available by download movie files. Whenever I select a link, a window asks me if I want open with "The KMPlayer (default)" or download, and "do this automatically for files like this in the future." box is grayed out.

I spent 30 minutes researching this and tried to change the line .mov in the settings of Firefox applications and tried an add-on, but makes no difference.

I am reviewing the files of 20-30 every morning and it is very annoying to click OK every time that I want to watch the video, when it seems that Firefox automatically opens the video player on its own.

Oh... I did not notice this in your screen shot before, but it says Content-Disposition: attachment, which I still think triggers the box.

    3. In the filter field, type Startup
    4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url

  • Why Firefox always opens with the last session tabs?

When I open firefox always opens with the last session tabs? How can I solve this problem?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them are .html, .ini and .js, .txt, so you can see only file name without the file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

  • Why Firefox guard open a new window a lot when you click on a tab to open it.

Firefox guard open a new window every time when I click on a tab to open it. Happens quite a few times per day now and it's annoying.

Versions of Firefox 3.5 and later have a feature called tabs.

You can detach a tab in the current window and open in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.

You can drag the tab to the tab bar in the original window to cancel this detachment.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • Why Firefox run/open to all, any how I try to start, after being updated to v41.0.1?

After the update for Firefox 41.0.1, yesterday I'm not able to start or open Firefox. My operating system is Windows XP. I have received no error messages and have no reason to think that the update failed. I scanned my computer several times and have no reason to think that I have no viruses/malware/etc... All other browsers are functioning normally and my computer does not have other symptoms that I noticed.

A window saying that Firefox would be updated after its restart or the next time I opened it, and I shortly thereafter turned off my computer. When I turned it back on and tried to start Firefox, nothing happened. I tried to open it via the Run..., by clicking the shortcut on the desktop, by going to the Firefox folder and try to start from there, and every other way that has been suggested by several pages here. Nothing works. No matter what I do, the Task Manager shows never firefox.exe is running. As a result, I couldn't try all alternatives that rely on my being able to use Firefox in some way. However, I tried all the other suggestions. Nothing has worked. I can not yet use the Profile Manager; When I try, nothing happens. Like most pages sternly warn me that reinstall or downgrade Firefox will either do nothing, or be dangerous, that I have no idea what else to try. I suppose that, at this stage, that means probably I'm missing something obvious, but I still have no idea what I might be missing.

Thank you very much in advance for your help! It is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi, take a look at this first - Firefox does not start - solutions, but if anything can help, it may be that this can be resolved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you delete your Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not delete your Firefox profile (such as bookmarks and passwords) data, since this information is stored in a different location.

To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, follow these steps: Note: you can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu

      Click the close button

    ).

  • Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:

      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  • Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.
  • More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

    Thank you.

    (A) on your Mac, you may need to name the file downloaded with a .pdf at the end of the file name extension so that it can open in Adobe Reader (or an extract or other PDF reader that you use).

  • Why Firefox only opens after update? Told to close, but how?

Windows 7. Attempted to update Firefox later today, but it does not work on my screen. When I try to use the previous version or remove it, he first shut it down. How can I close that I can't see? Thank you.

    See:

Try to run the program Firefox once as an administrator (right click firefox.exe: run as administrator).

If this does not solve the problem then delete the program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) Firefox to do a clean reinstall.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

If I hit the Home button on one of them I have several tabs open, Firefox opens a new tab just next door with the Firefox start page. I searched in the options and am unable to find why this happens or how to stop it.

If this isn't a pinned (App) tab then the home page should open in this tab.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

  • Why Firefox doesn't load the JCPenney update web page?

I just spent an hour on the phone with JCPenney, and then we are cut off. The gal is telling me where things are running on their new website, and I'm telling him that no such thing appears on my page.

After that, we got cut, I opened Google Chrome just for the heck of it and used my LastPass to open a session for JCPenney. LO & this IS! All these things the gal was trying to tell me about the page - are actually on the page.

Now why Google Chrome will load the new site of JCPenney as Firefox continues to load the old site?

    Thanks a bunch! It worked.
