Why Google\update\googleepdate.exe trying to access my computer.

Whenever the program is running, my firewall (Norton 360 first) block. What the program is trying to update?

Hi FredBrun,

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

Google Chrome, Google Lively, Google Earth, and a countless number of other Google applications can install an update mechanism named googleupdate.exe and try to access the internet.

Check in Norton 360 Security software settings if you have an option to add it to the list of programs to the exception.

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 2: You can reinstall Visual C++ Library Runtime components.

You can uninstall all existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package and check if it helps.

  • Windows automatically restarts constantly, cannot access the system restore point, cannot access the computer in safe mode

    Hi all

For the not 24 hours I tried to access my computer in normal mode. When I turn on the pc, it says "configuration data 1 of 3 steps...". 0% complete"he never spent 0% and within seconds, it automatically restarts and starts again. It's so frustrating! I have a windows vista pc (purchased in ' 06). I can only access my desktop in SafeMode.

I tried to perform a system restore, but not like he says "recovery disk is not the restore point selected. What should I do? I tried to manually create a restore point, but cannot access the system and Maintenance, while in safe mode. I can't do anything but literally access the internet. How can I get Windows back to factory settings it is with these limited resources? I have a Dell reinstallation DVD.

I searched my programs and found that recently Windows automatically updated and downloaded "Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer" and "for 2007 Office system Compatibility Pack '. Now, I think it has something to do with it, because they were the most recent updates, before the pc crashed. But I also fear that it may be a virus, which has completely hijacked this PC. Hello Dave deaf.

It is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.

If you need help with one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

In addition, it is possible that your system is infected by malicious software. To search for malicious software, install, update and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, some have limited functionality in their 'free mode', but the features you won't miss are not really necessary to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that not all programs detect the malware even!

I suggest you to completely remove Norton of the system using Norton Removal Tool and check if the problem persists.

  • Picked up a virus and the system restore but now used when logged on obtaining a C:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe message trying to access some of the programs? Help!

Part using the computer seems to have picked up a virus. Another person signed and restore the system. That seems to have stopped virus but when the person initially tries to use their sign on happens c\windows\system32\rundll32.exe message when it tries to access some programs (check mcafee, visit the center of security etc.) when you try to open some programs on the main screen, it says "choose program to open this file" mcagent.exe.   Any help would be appreciated.

  • Why Google Chrome displays updates to template pages on a site that I created?

Can someone help me understand this?  I had friends pull on the site for the first time since their computers and they see the same problem as me.

    Thank you.

  • Why Google images suddenly stopped loading in Firefox 17?

Suddenly 3 aspects of Google has stopped working in Firefox on my computer at home:
    (1) predictions in AutoComplete
    (2) images
    (3) cards

All these features work in Internet Explorer, just not Firefox.

I searched the Internet for a solution, because I didn't know he couldn't be "just me." But among all the solutions that I found in various places, none have restored these functions.

I have updated Java and Flash. I checked the levels of security. I tried a new Firefox profile. I checked the option to activate button to ' run ActiveX controls and plug-in "is selected AND that the Enable button next to"binary behaviors and scripted"is selected AND that the activation button under 'Active scripting' is selected.

I tried other solutions as well, but I don't even remember them all (I know, I should write them down).

    • sigh * sometimes the simplest... STUPIDEST... solutions to solve the problem.

OK, I read while I was looking for suggestions, that someone had discovered that their computer time has been incorrectly and it was interfering with the java certificate, thus prohibiting access to Google maps and Google thumbnails. Immediately, I looked at my computer time and saw that he was showing the time in the XP taskbar.

What I don't see, because I'm no further checking, it was that he was showing the wrong MONTH. I used the calendar to find a date in 2013 and apparently chose November when I reset it. Once I corrected in December AND synchronize the time on the Internet as well, everything is back to normal (of course, duh).

Thank you for your help here. I hope the next person looking for a solution has the sense to check the WHOLE setting for the date and time.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.
