Why gradients look so terrible?

I noticed that all websites look not as good as they should, especially color degraded. They all don't look all smooth, almost resemble quality GIF. I opened the same Web pages on different browsers Android mobile and they all look good, but not in Firefox for Android. Is there a way to make images look better or 'normal '?

This is because the 16-bit color is used on Android.

  • Why things look better in PDF format before converting to the JPEG/PNG/TIFF format

He always intrigues my why it looks better in a pdf preview and then when I choose to convert it into Indesign or Adobe Acrobat it immediately loses quality/hues turn gray.

I have had several success screenshotting things and turning them manually and sticking them in a document in fireworks and then saving it as image format.

Is there a better way to convert without using this method? Plug-ins may or explanations on how to stop this?

    Thank you

    Daniel K.

This is not the appropriate forum, but let's see if we can see what you are doing and why. An overview of the pdf should not look better than exporting InDesign to PDF. This may depend on your settings file that determines the quality of your export to PDF.

Whenever you convert Acrobat or InDesign to JPEG, PNG, or TIFF, you are likely to loose quality. This is particularly true for the JPEG as it is a lossy format (it's supposed to lose quality in order to ensure a smaller file size). Conversion of InDesign or Acrobat in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format involves a change in a format that includes the actual fonts and possibly other vector information (including quality is beyond resolution because it is derived from mathematical formulas describing the content) to form a frame (jpg, png, tiff) which is only based on the creation of points at a certain resolution to create an image. When the resolution of the image file is different from the compromise resolution look a way are made. It is the loss you see.

Why do you need to convert raster images InDesign documents?

  • Why the text in my titles look so terrible in exports?

I use CS4 and am putting together a video event by a conference last year.  The video begins with the text of the title, info from the speaker, that sort of thing.  But the text is horrible.  Looks like it is to be divided into horizontal lines.  Parts of the text may be missing, as the bottom of O and 0 and L lower when the text moves, it sparkles yet.

It is a DV-NTSC project, and so far, I'm just working with titles, pictures and bitmap graphics.  No videos yet.  This project did not interlace yet.

First, I exported using DIVX so that I can download the work-in-progress at Vimeo (720 x 480 not interlaced).  I thought it might be the CODEC, or compression from Vimeo, that sort of thing.  But I also tried to export as AVI file and a file AVI uncompresed, with the given maximum quality option enabled.  The results were pretty much the same.

I doubt that it is a question of color NTSC since I am using a number of colors.

The problem is not as noticeable on larger, or rather, thicker text.

Here is a link to the project if you want to take a look: http://Vimeo.com/8859654

    How can I fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Why use Look up Table

    Hi guys,.

Why should we use lookup table?

As I had we use just for table of correspondence:
    Save storage space.
Make it easy for end users to add NEW values to be taken of LOV.
is this true? But no, this means more time to get the result of the query (because it must use JOIN)?

    for example Lookup Table:
    column_A_ID , Column_B_value
    1, xxxxxxxxxxx
    2, yyyyyyyyyyyy
    3, zzzzzzzzzzzz
    .......
    ....
To save the table of storage space in The Master, we store the ID instead of the value, and allows us to retrieve the value of the eyes to the top of table of the JOIN REPORT...

So, is it too essential to use Look up table?

    Kind regards
    Fateh

    Fateh says:

N ° we use it because it is required by the standardization of the database and relational algebra. (See link above)

To save the table of storage space in The Master, we store the ID instead of the value, and allows us to retrieve the value of the eyes to the top of table of the JOIN REPORT...

There is no need or the guarantee that the FK value less space storage uses the referenced value:

    create table t
    as
    select 999999 n, cast('ABC' as varchar2(20 char)) v from dual;

    Table created.

    desc t

    Column Data Type Length
    N NUMBER 22
    V VARCHAR2 20

    select dump(n), dump(v) from t;

    DUMP(N) DUMP(V)
    ------- -------
    Typ=2 Len=4: 195,100,100,100     Typ=1 Len=3: 65,66,67

Some of the unique ID values generated original packed APEX applications using SYS_GUID() which gave rise to 40 digit keys.

So, is it too essential to use Look up table?

Yes, to produce a normalized data model. In circumstances exceptional denormalization for performance reasons can be done later.

  • Why fonts look better on the stage?

I have a paragraph of the text on the stage that seems good (Helvetica Neue ultralight), but when I play the movie it looks much thinner and really bad. Why the text on the stage doesn't match the film?

If it's static text and you are using a dynamic textfield, try to change to a static textfield.  In addition, you can try different settings of anti-aliasing for textfield (via the properties panel).  If you do something to filter the text, as the application of a drop shadow, it may also concern the appearance.  If all else fails, try another font.

  • Why the look of the evolution of the Photoshop CS3 to CS4 toolbar?

A nice visual feature to Mac in Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS3 was the appearance of "brilliant" from the toolbar that has acquired the Aqua interface.  Now in CS4, the toolbar looks more like the version of Windows (more bland).  I know that 'how the program research' does not change the way that Photoshop is used, I just thought I would ask in the forums why they would change the appearance of the toolbar for Mac they have had for 7 years.

I've never worked with a Tablet, so I can't address your concerns there.

The guy at the Apple Store has been/is just. You CAN run Photoshop for Windows on a Mac. There are several way to do.

1 boot Camp. -It comes with OS X, so don't buy anything. As long as you have a Windows install disc newerr than XP SP2, you can load. Downside is: you must stop and restart Windows with Boot Camp. No access to OS X. it is difficult if you are working with files in one and go to the other to change.

2 VMWare Fusion - not free, but you can run Windows while you're still under OS X. very well with two monitors; Windows on one single, OS X, on the other. VMWare Tools allows to drag files from right Mac to the Windows Desktop also.

3 parallels Desktop - once again not free, but has the same features as VMWare. and you can access files of two operating systems with the other OS.

I use VMWare and tried to Parallels. I have XP, Vista and Windows 7, loaded as a virtual machines and CS3 and CS4 software running in each of them. Windows seems to actually runs faster on a Mac.

    Hope that helps.

  • Why it looks like my file has no email, but if I select the above I can see it in the preview pane?

Two of my files to look at as they are empty, but if I click around, the mails are there, that you do not see the sender, the date, the object above the preview pane. If I click and 'invisible' email, I can see the entire email in the preview pane.

My basket has done this for a while, and one is doing the same thing.

    Thank you.

Select the folder to display the list of 'invisible '.
Click the icon on the right that shows you available 'column headings' and select 'reset default columns.

  • Why iTunes look different on my laptop?

I recently got a laptop to use instead of my PC. It's a Compaq by HP.

My laptop and PC have 10 Windows Home and iTunes 1.4

My iTunes PC version looks like this:

It has options for playlists at the bottom of the sidebar, it has album art next to the albums, a menu next to the part is on the air, it has a menu of "songs" drop-down menu at the top right just below the search bar and there are other things that do not exist in the portable version.

On my laptop, it looks like this:

Without a cover next to my music, a drop-down menu "music" under the file/edit/song area, no menu account etc.. \

I can't find any option so he could look like my PC version. They are two iTunes for Windows 64-bit x 12.4

What is going on? Is there any settings I need to change so that the portable version looks like my PC version?

For the work, you can press CMD + J in your title list and click View cover and always show. I hope this helps.

  • Since the installation of Windows 10 why I looking for recently downloaded messages in the Inbox? Before, they came always located at the top.

I don't know if it's really a problem with Windows 10, but I never experienced it until after the recent upgrade of my operating system. Before the upgrade, new e-mail messages were always displayed at the top of the Inbox window, and I didn't have to scroll down to find them. Now, the newly downloaded messages no longer appear at the top, and I have to search for them after downloading.

Click the heading labeled DATE sort by date. Click on DATE again to reverse the sort.

  • I like Adobe products, but that's why the support so terribly intuitive?

Whenever I have a problem I never find an answer easily. When changes are made to the software, it's never a question of ' what happened, so logically it will now be the case. " I then come on forums annoy the people who don't have any idea what my problem is, but still wish to affirm strongly that I have to do? I just more often just for the pads when I hit a problem. A problem that I had recently updated several times was referred to an answer that was completely useless for me and others with the same problem, and finally I had to say that the only good answer to my problem was to reinstall windows, because it's the only thing that solved the problem.  This is not a resolution, which is a failure. If someone at Adobe knew a way around what seemed to be a common problem, they were not leaving, not even that they were aware of it.

I can only imagine how much more I could be done with brilliant Adobe unmatched products, if they were just a lot more intuitive and fully supported.

Judging by many of the answers I've seen on these forums, that clearly given in good faith and with the best will be (and I imagine very effectively in many cases), it is not only a problem for me, but also some of those who are trying to help.

There are some pretty simple answers to so many things, but the current forums and support system is not very effective to bring to the forefront, I'm afraid.

Is it just me, or is this one problem for others here?

Many of the problems users have can be answered in the various forum https://forums.adobe.com/welcome

Other problems are only answered by staff or cat person

Personnel people do check forum posts, but not 24/7

  • CS3 - export dv ntsc wide screen-solution

    Hello

IM using CS3 with dv avi type 2 source material, 780 x 420 interlaced, 29.97, 16:9 (widescreen). Video length is about 50 minutes.

I do not have Sorenson (cannot afford now)... .and use CS3 export to burn a DVD.  I have the impression was, according to the posts here, that CS3 isn't the best way to export... ... using frameserver and Sorenson's better...

However, I'm new on this and I have much to learn about the compression used to export DVD... and so I tried a few things in CS3.

    (1) the presets verified... for mpeg2-dvd (format), ntsc high quality preset.

In this case, the quality is defined by CS3 for 4, lower the first field 4:3 aspect, vbr 2 pass, with 1.5, 4, 7 min, target, flow rates max.

In the preset to ntsc widescreen quality average (there is no high quality widescreen preset)... everything is the same except that it is pass vbr 1. and the appearance is set to 16:9.

I have exported using ntsc high quality but changed quality to 5 of 4 min bitrate to 2 instead of 1.5... 16:9 4:3 aspect.

It looked horrible.  large horizontal lines throughout... models sawtooth, etc..

    Bad Millaard suggested a calculator:

    http://DVD-HQ.info/bitrate_calculator.php

I put in my info and you have the suggestion to use 8 members of bitrate, CBR...

    Fact that the export...

Is horrible!... large horizontal lines of Sawtooth patterns...

    info of the calculator:

-Calculator will offer you to spend CBR in 2 circumstances instead of VBR 2-

Second, when there is enough space on the disk to make average speed equal or superior to the maximum baud rate. In this case, a VBR file would actually be CBR, it is absurd to use the VBR (which takes longer to encode). If the calculator suggests VBR with a medium flow value that is very close (i.e., less than 10%) value of maximum bitrate, you can significantly reduce the time of encoding (with very little loss of quality) by selecting CBR.

    -------------------

so, I decided since an interlaced video was apparently NOT of ONE OPTION... I went in progressive...

And you want to take advantage of EVERY OUNCE OF QUALITY I decided to force CS3 to do an export of VBR 2 pass with 8, 8, 8 min, target, and max bitrates as...

It would seem stupid because CBR with a value of 8 would be the same...

But for some reason, I decided to do this thing of crazy... and it seems good...

Even if it's fine for now I wonder... Why interlaced look so terrible?

I wonder also what the M frames and default settings of 3 and 15 is the same for all presets.  My GOP is apparently the i - frame = 1

Frames P = 17, limit GOP = 18...  But how does that translate to the frames of M (number of B frames between consecutive I frames and P) and N (number of frames between I frames - must be multiple value frames M)?  What's the story with this and why the default value of 3 M frames and 15 N?  Source of confusion.

Don't know if this will never help anyone else, but forcing the VBR 2-pass with 8,8,8 worked well, took about 45 min to 50 minutes of video export... and gave me the file size predicted the calculator to put on the DVD (about 3.3 GB)...

Thanks for this calculator again, harm

    Stem

    Rod,

I only use PAL, NTSC no, someone up-to-date on NTSC encoding, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I always use a limit of 12 for PAL GOP and AFAIK the NTSC standard is GOP deadline 15.

You must consider that the best way to judge material interlaced is on a receiver attached to a TV, not on a progressive computer screen. I've never had the problems you describe, who wants not may not happen, but I'm surprised say the least. Also remember that conversion of interlaced footage of progressive means that CS4 it rid of half your vertical resolution, which is not something that I like.

If you export your videos as DV AVI and still let the encoding, the results are better?

In the settings of the SOUL you uncheck use preview files and check the master rendering quality. He will do the encoding time about 4 times longer, but gives much better results, and since you want to get every ounce of quality, maybe it's worth the wait.

  • Why the photos on my phone look different from my computer?

Well, I can't find definitive information on this topic...
