  Objects stored with (by default) Copyright ignore privileges based on roles. Most likely, owner package session_info user is granted select on v$ session through the role (or not at all). Grant select on v_$ session to the owner of the package directly.

• I get a must activate windows error when trying to log in. I run windows activation and it is said that the product is already activated, click ok

  I reinstall windows xp on an old pc with my xpsp2 cd. I used the key of xp on the sticker and when you restart the computer after the initial installation I got a must activate windows to continue. He put me to the login screen, when I click on administrator I always get the must activate windows.   You might be able to solve your immediate problem of the 30-day activation grace period has expired by resetting it. Follow these steps:

  1. If the computer can be started in a safe mode command prompt, do.

  2. at the command prompt, type this command exactly (space, caps and comma are required):

  Rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk

  3. restart.

  If you did it, your activation grace period will have been reset, giving you more time to work on the problem.

  What is even more strange is that I took the SELECT statement

  Good thounght, but no, there is no privilege SELECT ANY VIEW; SELECT ANY TABLE includes views and materilaized.

  I suspect that the problem is something specific to the data dictionary. I have just connected as SYS and granted SELECT ANY TABLE to another user with minimum privileges, X. X, ALL_VIEWS included so all views dba_, including the dba_dependencies. However, X was still unable to dba_dependencies the query either in SQL * more or PL/SQL.

  I tried as many ways as I can think this call from another package, with each time similar results.
  
  The user/owner of the package has rights DBA, so it doesn't seem to be a permissions issue.

  in PL/SQL, the permissions must be granted directly, rather than through roles.

  for example, you need to directly grant the Execute permission on the package for the required users.

• Why do I get connection timeout errors when downloading FTP when internet does not work?

  Use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK then go back
  and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times. Do the same for others

  Do not forget to leave your Admin account and the other to the desired level.

  Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for
