Why is my PDF so large?

I created a resume using Adobe Illustrator. I exported to a PDF file. Unfortunately, the file is too large to send as a resume by e-mail.

Should what steps I take to make a viable PDF for the size of the e-mail?

Even after I exported it size PDF that's too heavy road.

Thanks for your help.

It depends on what you put into it. I have before me a 5000 pages, format PDF 1.8 MB. And a page PDF of more than 2 gigabytes. My guess is that it is designed for a curriculum vitae; Word may be a better choice. CV must be easy to navigate. Maybe a small head shot. No clipart! Make sure that you are not trying to do a CV to do the work of a portfolio; a portfolio SHOULD be too big to email.

Specific advice: when to save the PDF, FIRST save as I, and THEN save a PDF file with the option "preserve the edition." Then close and reopen the AI for the edition. * Design in RGB. * Keep the images down to below 100 ppi. * Avoid the backgrounds for model.  * Finally, use check the space less save as > PDF optimized to see what is the complete file.

  • PNG why my pdf so large?

    Hello

I did some images in photoshop with colors and simple forms as they were better placed to be saved as a png instead of a jpg file and when I compared them to the other the png has a file size smaller than the jpg version. However, when I swapped the jpgs for png files in Indesign and exported to pdf format, the file size became much more important and I don't know why. Jpg and pdf files have the same number of pixels, maybe it's the fact that you can't compress the png at the stage of export? Any help is appreciated. Thank you

    Vincent

InDesign takes the incoming pixels as they are, and the exported compression rate depends on your preset Compression settings. So, basically, it's counterproductive to place formats compressed because they are going to get re compressed export to export settings.

  • Why do accessible PDF documents by InDesign more of 50 years or if the pages are unable to read correctly with JAWs and NVDA?

    !

I work for a charity in the United Kingdom for the blind, that's why I need this to work.

This is the problem, I explained to Adobe, but received responses such as "you can export as many pages as you wish", and "This is a 3rd part problem". Here is an excerpt of the email I recently sent to the Support from Adobe:

I can export any number of pages for printing or any other format of InDesign, Acrobat, the problem is that when the PDF is converted to a PDF Accessible (APDF), it passes all the criteria of accessibility, but then fails to be read correctly by accessibility Reader Apps.

I tried now several files on drive 2 platforms, JAWs and NVDA, similar issues arise on both systems.

The player applications normally start by reading how many titles and links, a document has. This aspect of these documents of APDF over 50 pages almost to the task; "readers" can get stuck at the end of each page and the APDF does not scroll down when used by readers.

Clearly, this is a huge problem for blind users, because they could easily think that this is a single page document, with "a topic and not links" as told by readers.

The same work of documents perfectly well if the document is reduce less than 50 pages.

When I talked to someone from Adobe, that it has been suggested that there may be a problem with InDesign export to Acrobat who was the cause.

I don't know if there is a problem with the 3rd Party applications, and it's a problem with Acrobat, InDesign, or a combination of both.

We produce a lot of documents like these every week and it is important that we can serve our members, customers and clients with the documents to which they have access.

Users of screen readers will have to do the following:

in Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe Acrobat, go to 'Preferences', 'Reading' pane, group "Screen reader Options": set "Page vs Document" popup "Entire Document", or adjust 'Minimum number of pages in a large document' to a value greater than 50, as it is greater than or equal to the maximum. number of pages expected for the largest regional document for reading.

  • Why the Adobe PDF Create add-in is no longer supported by 25 FF?

I use 25 FF on Windows 7 Pro x 64 system. Recently, I did a reinstall of the OS and with it a reinstall of Firefox. After importing my old profile, I noticed that the Adobe PDF create button was missing. It is a very useful application in my daily work.

Going to the Add-ons Manager, I noticed that the Adobe Acrobat - create PDF 1.0 add on is disabled in 25 FF. Why support has been removed for this?

I tried to use another Add on PDF, but it caused the browser hanging and it had to be removed. Is there a reliable option to save a web page to PDF? (other than the use of a Mac).

This means that the addon message must be updated to be compatible with the latest version, if this addon is essential, you can revert to a previous version.

If the second section does not work, the foregoing applies.

  • Why not use black ink large? (5300 MG)

I did a search before you ask and seen a lot of messages, ask questions about the use of black ink but has not read one with an answer to my question.

WHY Canon inkjet printers do not use large-format black in cartridge except when printing B & W text?

In my set-up I use it only for color printing. Since black is common to all print jobs, color or B & W and most of the color jobs have a large black (text at least), the result is that the small black cartridge is depletd long before one of the color, while the black ink cartridges big remains alone and not used.

It is hard to believe the printer can be set up is required to use the black great when black ink cartridge. Is this just a way to sell more ink cartridges?

    Hi mkolber,

The largest black tank is made from pigments and is used for the standard black prints only on plain paper.  The black pigment ink is not supposed to be used with the photo paper, because it's a heavier type of ink and perhaps do not dry on this type of media.

The smaller black ink tank is tinted as the other color inks and is used for photos of photo output and graphics on the types of media other than plain paper.  Tinted ink works with other color inks to improve contrast and image stabilization of the color and black and white photography exceptional production.

The inks are designed to complement each other, which allows the printer produce best quality of output or a picture of possible black text as appropriate.

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows or Adobe? Why is the window too large Acrobat?

When I open a pdf file, open the adobe acrobat window, but the top bar appears above the top of the screen; This is why I can't resize or minimize the window. I can't "seize" the window and move it up or down in any direction for that matter. So difficult to work with. Which is the problem, Adobe or Microsoft? Is there a fix or work around it please? TIA... Greg

Move your cursor on the Acrobat icon on the task bar and right click on the image that is displayed. Click the Move option and you can then move the window with the arrow keys.

  • Why does my PDF files appear as word documents?

My PDF files are displayed as icons in word document and I don't know why. I can still open them as a PDF file just right click and then go to 'Open with' but I prefer them rather to open as a PDF immediately.

I did some research and most popular answers seems to be to change the association of file by the following steps:
    1. Click Startand then click Control Panel.
    2. Click on Folder Options.
    3. Click the File Types tab in the Folder Options window and complete file types and their association is listed.
    4. Click new and type the file Extension in the box and then click Advanced.
    5. Choose a file type association.
    6. Click OK and then click close.
    7. Open the file again.
But when I go in the "Folder Options" I can't find the 'File Types' tab anywhere! The only options are "General", "view"and"search".
If someone could help me with this problem that would be much appreciated.

The File Types tab exists in Windows XP and earlier and removed from Windows Vista.

You can use the option 'Open with' to change program file associations as Entegy said in addition, you can find this useful link.
  • Why the file becomes so large, if it has only linked psd?

    Dear community staff and Adobe,

I have this problem with my CS6 Illustrator on Windows 7.

My .ai file contains a work plan with a linked psd file. The PSD (made with Photoshop CS6) is 373 MB size. Before linking the psd file, my file was only one size of 20 MB. My file have became 220 MB size! Why so huge weight if it is only linked psd?

It is a problem, because I need to connect several other psd files!

Waiting for your reply and the solution

    Thank you

    Best regards

Disable the Compatible PDF file option when you save the file otherwise the image gets embedded in the PDF part.

Be careful if you want to use the Illustrator file in InDesign or Photoshop, you must activate the PDF compatibility.

  • Why "Print to PDF" now does not work in the Lightroom print module?

Hello.  In general, I create PDF files for all my contact without problem sheets.  But today, I created my own size of the model and for some reason the 'impression' (lower-left next to the option "Print to file") is disabled.  I usually click on 'Print' and through the option PDF create PDF from there... Why am I not able to access the area of PDF creation?  I'm boggled.  I restarted my mac thinking maybe it was a little problem but that no longer works.  Anyone? Please? I use LR5.  Thanks for anyone who can help me :-)

    Hi Nikki,

Go to the print module, click the printer option and then on the left side of the details show select Save as pdf.

  • Why not have transfer of larger files and function to keep Logo?

I tend to like most of the Adobe products and I actively get others to use Adobe products.  However, this product is not worth the headache - you want us to use it or not?  There is no legitimate reason for Adobe to have so many restrictions on this type of product, especially when none of your competitors has them.  The logo was the main reason I chose AdobeSendNow at the expense of others.  Although I have never happy to not be able to send files greater than 2 GB when competitors allow up to 20 GB.  In addition, why are there so many types of limited files? This type of service should be automatically including all current and known file types used by PC and Mac.  because of all of this, I am obliged to pay and use another service to do my work today.

I do not understand the logic of NOT respecting this than your competitors providing and noticed which includes end-users as most.  After reviewing the information, create a service that integrates and improves on all of these features, including the new features in Adobe original.  Now, Adobe should have a service that can easily be a product in this category.  It seems that whoever is responsible for this product/service does no sincere effort by creating a leading product.  This product has ceased to be an average product with some 'cool' features, for the worst product in its class.

I really hope someone at Adobe pays attention to these comments and upgrade Adobe send to a leader of the actual product.

Support for much larger files and sending brand has been added during the summer.

  • Why did the PDF tab missing?

    Hello!

I created PDF and tag files using the properties of the Document Acrobat X Pro dialog box (file > properties). But when I view the file properties in Windows, I do not see these tags in the Details tab looking for help on the Adobe website, I found a reference to a PDF tab. This tab is supposed to appear in the native Windows file properties dialog box. But I do not see this tab when I display the properties of a PDF file. Why?

The only reason to mark up a document, from my point of view, is to make it searchable. I want to be able to search and find my PDFs with given tags. But how do you do an extensive system of search files if the information in the PDF tags are not read or taken supported by Windows, and it is not added by Adobe software? For the record, I use Windows Vista.

You can also enter and read information from data from the desktop properties. Right-click on the document in Windows Explorer, choose Properties, and click the PDF tab. Any information that you enter or edit in this dialog box also appears in the Description of the Document properties when you open the file.

If I managed to get this feature turned on, I will be able to do a search for *.pdf in Windows Explorer, and then select maybe the tag Bill so that I will get all PDF files that are identified as Bill? Or will it take a document dedicated to this management system?

And Add-ons for Word.  There must be a lot of these things, and not all appear to have been made. Of course, more might have be made in Acrobat XI and more, someday, to XII...

  • Why the same PDF allows to comment on Windows but not on Linux?

    All,

I have a PDF document that (on version 9.5.1 Adobe Reader on Linux) has its file > properties... > Security > field commenting on the value "unauthorized."  However, I copied the same file on a Windows and Adobe Reader 10.1.3 machine to open.  On the Windows machine, the property of security even said this annotation is authorized.  Why the difference?  I would like to make comments on the Linux version, but it won't give me the tools to highlight or sticky notes.

For what it's worth, all security properties (for example, 'Impression', 'Assembly of Document', '"content copying", etc.)  between the two copies of the PDF are identical.with with the exception of the property of 'comments '.

    Thanks for any help,

    -Steve Ross

Thank you for your detailed review. In my opinion, your table supports my statement, and all is well. I stated (by the Readme) Reader X has been extended to allow the highlighting and sticky notes EVEN when a file is not extended.

Thus, the Linux player, in version 9 and older than this change, should not for a default file display these tools. Since it cannot display these tools and no one else, poster correctly it is CORRECT to say his comments is not allowed.

It seems to me that your table correctly records the difference between version 9 of the reader (Linux or Windows) and version X of the reader (not available for testing on Linux), except that nothing is wrong.

It may not be what we want, but it's a whole different story.
