Equium L300 - 17Q hangs at a black screen during recovery

Help

I have an Equim L300 - 17q.
I'm trying to restore my laptop to default after getting a virus.
I bought a toshiba recovery disk.
I followed the instructions after the laptop says it's loading files, it crashes then just at a black screen.

Ideas please

Hello

Have you tried to install the OS using another drive or maybe you could start Notepad using a Live CD Linux Live CD or WinPE or PartBE?

Please check because your problem could be related to the laptop computer part faulty (maybe the HARD drive) or defective recovery disc.

Now it s not possible to say what could cause this and, therefore, you should try starting with other disks.

I have internet search and it seems to be a common problem for many different reasons - ideas - Ive tried more things ive read without success. Help please

    Hello Kiwivic,

    Thank you for the question!

I'm sorry to know that have problems you with the Installation of Windows 8. As I understand it, you get a black screen during the Installation of Windows 8.

I need to ask you some questions to help you best.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

2 are the external devices connected to the computer?

Method 1: disconnect any external devices (except keyboard and mouse) and then install Windows 8 and check.

Method 2: Select the edge device devices in device/integrated graphic of BIOS (Basic Input output device) and check.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

    Good day!

  • Equium L300 - 17Q (PSLB2E) recovery

Hi all. I'm trying to 'fix' L300 my brother-in-law. It does not start in windows, I tried the safe mode, the repair option, all what I can in the start menu. It hangs, resets or is just a black screen with the pointer. I don't know what the cause is probably a virus. In any case, I want to just factory reset this shit, but I believe that it comes with no recovery media. Thank you Toshiba, nice cost-saving measure that wells of your customers. I guess its his own lack of being too pc-illiterate to do his own recovery disk, but in any case, can someone tell me how I can get hold of a recovery dvd for this model, the cheaper the better! So far, I tried a google search and come with zippo.

    Help! Please? :)

I think that you would save it £30, if you read first the manual preinstalled on your laptop.
You will find an info that it s is strongly recommended to create a recovery disk using the preinstalled ;) Toshiba Recovery disc creator

  • Force wireless on Equium L300 - 17Q issue

Since late 2008, I have this Equium L300 BRAND / 17Q. Since my laptop wireless resistance lower then any other pc. I'm even so close to the wireless router, but it is still 3-4 bars.
I'm the only person at home using modem router
My OS is Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, installed license. All drivers up to date.

Also why Toshiba does not provide any what BIOS more updated for this model.
The latest version of the bios dated 2008, another way 3 years ago.
Is the authorized Toshiba read these forums?

They need develop a newer bios.

If there is no reason why offer the new BIOS? Do you really think THAT BIOS is a magic bullet for every hardware problem?

The old model works well with Vista and Win7 perfectly. A few months ago, I installed Win7 32 bit on friends L300. No problem at all. One thing was embarrassing for me, and it's HARD drive.

OK I've updated HARD drive with more capacity and it was pretty hot so I put aluminum foil in order to reduce the temperature on the plastic cover.

We tested the WLAN functionality also and everything was OK. If you use the WLAN without problem I think there is no reason to panic. Have you checked all the WLAN settings on your laptop?

  • Satellite L300 PSLB8A display, only a black screen

    Hi guys

Please help if you can; This morning I turned on my laptop (Satellite L300 PSLB8A-04R004 running Vista family) and all I get is a black screen.

I tried removing the battery and turn on while plaugged in the power supply, same black screen.

I tried to remove the battery then replace after 10 minutes, but the same black screen. All the power lights are on (but non-corps House).

I tried everything suggested in support on the site page, but thought that you guys might have the answer?

    Thank you.

    > I have tried everything proposed in the support on the site page, but thought that you guys might have the answer?
Seems that you have already tried a workaround solution that I would recommend.
Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery, wait 1 hour or more.
Reconnect the two parts and then try to switch on the appliance.

If that does not help, then you might try to start the device using a single module of RAM.
    Maybe it's a question of s a RAM...

Otherwise it s necessary to test the material parts and run diagnostic checks.
This can be done by a Toshiba ASP.

All you need to do is install XP that contains SATA drivers. The XP you are trying to install does not contain them is why it does not recognize your hard drive. If you can't find Xp with SATA drivers, you can create your own drive to install XP with SATA drivers in a few steps:

    (1) download nLite
    (2) download the SATA drivers for your laptop from the Toshiba site
    (3) find Xp installation (normal that you use for your PC)
    (4) start nLite and it will tell you how tointegrate the SATA drivers in the XP installation
    (5) burn the installtion disk
Install XP on the laptop to 6)

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.

  • How to upgrade the Equium L300 - 17Q to make it better

    I recently got an Equium L300 17 Q.
What improvements could do for that laptop work the best it can.

What is the more memory (live RAM) can I put in it?

Also, what is a good graphics card I could use because I love the game!

Please answer as soon as possible
    Thank you!

    Hello

You can't spend a lot of things.
What you can do is upgrade the memory and the HARD drive. But as much HARD drive will not improve the performance of laptop computers, but only the HARD drive space.

The RAM can be upgraded up to 2 GB.

The GPU (graphics card) can not be upgraded, because it fixed s (welded) on the motherboard.
