  • Why my Dell Vostro have a Toshiba hard drive?

April 25, 2015, I contacted Dell warranty on my hard-drive on my Vostro 3750. They ran diagnostics, concluded it was defective (Test read HardDrive-Targeted; CFI:N; KYHD:N; DD:N; Dr:N). on 27 April, they sent a replacement under the service request number 910355792. So when it happened, I've swapped disks and returned the defective one. Now fast forward to December when I was able to install Windows 10 Pro. Site Web de Microsoft had only a few requirements to run, mainly RAM, graphics processing and an OS to date start with. I didn't know that Dell had a list of computers that were not to be tested with W10. The installation went along fine and let him update the necessary drivers, have pre-installed just enough so he can start and connect to the internet to update. I was unaware that one of the device drivers to settle and my computer seems to work very well. Then about two weeks ago, he started to slow down. I noticed it would begin to freeze a little bit, but he would always thaw quickly. Then a week ago, I wrote a document of night (College Sophomore so this computer is pretty much my life) and closed the lid for the night. Now, the battery life is already pretty bad, so needless to say it's dead during the night, but when I went to turn it back on it took forever, it lights up. Easily 10-15 minutes just to get to the login screen. I unlocked it and it brought back to my office to plug it back in on my desk, where it remains almost religiously. I then got on Dell Support, which is where I finally found the 3750 has not been tested with W10 and ran a quick diagnosis that says the hard disk, which has been listed as a TOSHIBA is in critical condition and must be replaced immediately. At this point, I had to see what was going on, so I opened the Device Manager went to disks and here, he said that my hard drive is a TOSHIBA MQ01ACF050. Well, that's weird. So I checked my event viewer to make sure and it was indeed migrated, configured and started when I allowed and installed W10 in December. There was also an unknown device in the event log which is how I discovered the missing driver. Then to top it all, the administrative events log had 16 000 events from the moment I installed W10 until today, almost everything else just tell Harddisk0 DR0 has a bad block. duh. So I'm saving all our important documents to an external hard drive and I guess I will be W8 but what I really want to know is why guaranteed Dell send me a Toshiba hard drive. Any advice on any of these issues would be sincerely appreciated.

There are only three manufacturers left portable players - WD, Seagate and Toshiba.  Almost all system vendors use each of them.

  • Why ReadCLOUD he created folders on my hard drive?

This morning when I pulled my computer, my boot hard drive was full. He has created many problems.

Created ReadyCLOUD of files to backup on my computer and the files copied from my computer in these folders on my computer instead of sync them to the ReadyNAS102.

Why we do this? I have these updated files in place on the NAS to synchronize the directories.

How can I get the synchronization back to actions on the ReadyNAS?

    Hello

Yes I think so. If you start a new backup without deleting the backup share first a new one will be created with the same name and added a "-2".

  • Wanted M6: Why are there 7 partitions on the hard drive of my desire to M6?

As you can see in the screenshot below, my hard drive has 7 partitions.

'C' is the main partition and "D" is supposed to be recovering.

Then why have I not 3 additional recovery partitions?  And why the recovery partition "D" repeat?

Something get screwed up with my upgrade of windows 8 to 8.1?  Can I consolidate one of these parties?

"If you keep an open mind, life will give you more opportunities."

I wouldn't try to consolidate anything - you could end up with a no boot situation. Some of us have recently discussed this and it was never cleared up. From what I know, it's the small recovery partition is Windows start-up files. The Efi partition is used for diagnosis, updates to the Bios, etc. Of course, C: is your partition Windows then recovered on D: files to run a system recovery in case you need to reinstall Windows. The great mystery is why Windows displays duplicates of some of the partitions. They are not physically there - but seem to be.

This reminds me that I need to re - visit this discussion and see if any explanantion was never found.

  • Why my mac does not recognize my hard drive or SD cards?

I got a new Macbook Air last month. Since I had so much problems with it - mostly because if you plug in anything whatever in the SD card slot or USB drives, it does not recognize them. I own a mac before, as well as PC laptop dell, so I am aware of the problems when formatting the discs everywhere, but even when I plugged a new passport hard drive, the computer couldn't find. Similarly, you may not find all the SD cards when I tried to use the SD card.

What is going with this? I am a photographer living, so I need constant access to these two. This new model has some new method for transfer of files from the external hard drive etc.?

Close, then connect the mac to a power adapter, disconnect all external devices.

    reset the SMC

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

reset all external then pulls even deleted

Once you open a session reconnect the external hard drive

If the drive is connected with a hub of party 3rd do not use it and connect the drive directly to the mac

Connect the external hard drive and open Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility disk utility

The drive appears in the list of external devices?

  • When changing the 80 GB to 40 GB HARD drive, Satellite M40 does not recognize the drive

    Hi all

    Thanks for coming in! :)
I recently source two-disc 40GB 2.5 "IDE and intended to run one of them in my Satellite M40.

    The problem starts here:

    (1) I took the original 80 GB hard drive & install the 40 GB hard drive
    (2) start and put in the Toshiba M40 recovery disk
    (3) display screen 'Y' for recovery blah blah blah thing...
    (4) then the screen shows 'cannot be installed because no hard drive found ".
    (5) I boot in the BIOS using F2-> F1, page 2 shows no hard drive

    (6) I try to use my own CD of Windows XP Pro, same thing (as in no hard drive found)
    (7) and the BIOS too show no hard drive found

The two disk 40 GB is out of mobile work and they formatted it, partition deleted with NOTHING on it. They have also been tested on other PCs (using the converter) using WXP. Two of them work very well!

Now, the weird thing is that I just can't make it work at least in the Sat - M40. Why is this? Toshiba locked the M40 being one Toshiba-disc is usable?
Is there a place to get through it? Hidden BIOS?

I have fixed a large number of PCs, but I can't with this, Please HELP...
Any response would be appreciated, thanks! :)

    Hello

The M40 should be able to use 40 GB hard drives with no problems.
But you must use hard drives with the right interface.
To my knowledge the M40 supports hard drives with an interface IDE (ATA-6).

So be sure that your 40 GB HARD drive supports it.

By the way; Check if your HARD drive supports the good master or slave definition.

    Hello

Eventually the partitions that appear on the HARD disk is corrupted.
I couldn't install the OS on my laptop because the partitions have been confues up, I don t know why, but I couldn't format the HARD drive using the recovery disk.

Finally, I took the Windows XP disc and formatted the whole HARD drive and deleted all partitions on the HARD drive. Then I installed Windows XP by using the Microsoft disk.
After that, I made the recovery disc and installed the operating system using the Toshiba disc.
Then, it was possible to reinstall the OS.

Notes; The M400 seems supported RAID and therefore, you need to install the RAID driver first!

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx: HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Windows 7 x 4 Can not find Hard Drive

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx. I put in a new hard drive. I can't get Windows 7 x 64 to recognize during the installation. I tried the Intel Chipset drivers on the HP download site for my laptop. I also tried the x 64 drivers from the Intel website: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24293/a08/f6flpy-x64.zip.

I tried with the original hard drive in and Windows 7 does not recognize either.

Any ideas on how to get Windows 7 to recognize the drive?

    Brian

I understood why Windows 7 does not recognize the hard drive. I tried to install Windows 7 from a USB key. I burned the BONES on a dvd and booted on the dvd and he found the hard drive. It is trying to install Windows 7.

  • HP pavillion m7557c race ex hard drive problem

recently crashed (sonething in the windows configuration) do the restore to factory records but drive hard only display 16 GB and it has a 300 GB inside assistance greatly apprreciated!

If you download and make a GParted live disk and boot from it, you can delete both partitions and engage in change. Once you have made and created a single FAT32 partition, you can use the recovery discs to return your PC to its delivered State. You should have sufficient ability to use it. It was delivered in one day with a small hard drive.

This is the reason why I proposed to install a larger hard drive.

  • Pavilion M8530F Maximum hard drive recognized.

I am interested in buying a 3 or 4 TB Seagate hard drive, probably, that is the same model as the computer came with.  The computer will recognize the new hard drive?

I bought a WD 2 TB harddrive, which recently failed.  When I received it's new, the computer would not properly format the hard drive.  I had to plug in a removable drive and shaped this way.  Once it has been formatted I could then pile it on the HP computer and it works normally.  But reformats later will have to be done on the removable drive.

Computer was shipped with a hard drive of the Nvidia 750,2 G band.  So, that is the max, that will see the computer and the format successfully?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Yes, I tried 2 TB or less.  The M8530f is a not the UEFI bios so you won't be able to use a 3 TB to full capacity as boot drive.  You should be able to use it as a reader only hard data with few exceptions closely.

Take a look at this brief Hitachion the drives of 2 TB. Why Hitachi?  I have six Hitachi hard drives, ranging from 1.5 to 3.0 to.  Seagate did a good hard drive and I'm sure you can find similar technical information on the use of HDs that exceed 2 TB.

Drivers aren't going to solve a hardware faulty motherboard problem.

  • Pavilion 15-p009tx: failure of hard drive test

Hello, I was using my laptop for about six months, and today when I tried to boot up the laptop, it would just show a blue screen. That's why I started dianosis and it failed hard drive DST test. Failure ID is 600ETA-7AX7L1-MFPV6K - 60S 503. Product ID is G8E21PA #ABG.
    Support will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Error code 24 characters for the drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

As your laptop is only 6 months old, it should still under warranty, so contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - if necessary, you can check your warranty status.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, start here.

    Kind regards

  • Installation of Windows XP on a new PC with a separate hard drive

I heard many different answers from others to do what I want to do.  Finally, my old PC crashed on me, so I recently built a new PC that is out of date.  I had Windows XP and now Windows7, but for some programs that I want to use XP and this is why I am looking for an extra hard drive to run my XP and of course boot and when I want to.  The thing I heard between 2 different people, that brings me here to find out for myself.  Told that "your code of disk and windows activation is saved with your motherboard you had on your old PC and so it will not recognize it for your new.  The other person has said "if I'm not mistaken they allow the transfer up to 3 different PC with your windows disk.  My question is that I am able to install and activate my Windows XP on my new PC and if so how many different PC can I install my windowsXP on before that I have to buy a new disc?

    Hello

If your XP is preinstalled on the old computer (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) or if you have an OEM System Builder License, it is an OEM license.

An OEM license is not transferable and is related to the first computer that is installed on the license dies when the computer dies.

Without reinstall on another computer or activation is allowed.

If you had a license to retail sales of XP that you have purchased and installed yourself on the old computer, it is transferable.

The only condition is that a retail license can be installed on a single computer at a time.

One license is for a single installation.

And I suggest that you ask in the Windows 7 Forums on the installation of compatible XP programs in Windows 7.
