  I tried to share a ringtone to iTunes via Garageband today, but it seems that it did not work. Ring did not appear in the "tones" window in iTunes, not only featured in the "ringtones" folder in my iTunes library. I was able to do this in the past, but it seems as if it no longer works.   Try this workaround:

  • You can share the song on the disc to .aac format
  • Rename the shared song and change the m4r file name extension.
  • Add the song to iTunes with "file > add to library."

  Just make sure, the length of the song is less than 30 seconds.

  I bought a ringtones on itunes today, but after you buy and download ringtones, why the ringtones that I bought on itunes still displays the price? Does this mean I have to buy again for the same ringtone?

  If you want to re-download them then Yes, you will need to pay again - tones (and audio books) is the only unique downloads of the store. If you still have the ringtones on your phone you can copy them on to the iTunes library on your computer by connecting the phone and do file > devices > transfer purchases (they should copy on the tones of your library section) so that you can take a backup copy.

  I have a stable working version of Windows 7 Pro.  (Yes sfc/scannow and chkdsk are 100%)  BUT here's my question and the problem...

  Recently, all of a sudden - my file C:\Documents and settings folder (and of course all of the many folders and files it contains) is no longer present in the computer of Windows / Explorer.

  Yes - I removed the skin system files in folder options (I'm relatively warned these basic commands) and all my other system hidden files appear perfectly.

  Moreover, I KNOW that this directory and the files are still there on the drive, and Yes, they are immediately, when I use the command line (back of the old black box window) in administrator mode.

  Once again all the folders and files in C:\documents and settings are always there (using the cd and dir/p orders) when you use the editor command line (cmd).

  I even tried to change the parameters of security using Icacls and delivered successfully as Administrators security settings: F and system: F but nothing appears in the Explorer.

  I also tried to change the command attrib to this directory with my very basic command-line skills.

  The computer still works fine - as many of you probably know the C:\documents and settings folder is really an older and former OS directory now used for programs inherited, replaced by C:\Users... etc.

  But why have - so MS put in the OS. There are of course good reasons so - I want show back again.

  I tried a system restore but I only got one and it can also have been corrupted since it took me a day or two to notice.

  In summary, when a directory and files 'all of a sudden disappear completely' use widely and all days 'window of windows Explorer normal 7' you know that something is badly broken in the operating system.

  BTW - Yes all Windows 7 updates made and successful... (no easy feat)

I just had to re - format my external hard drives as after updating the OS to El Capitan my external hard drives were ready only and I couldn't change the permissions. They seem to just lock me up. Then... I copied 200 GB of pictures and copied the two computers friends, re-formatted EXFAT (I read was the best format for the use of Mac and windows) and re-copied everything on hard drives again.   They are not deleted, they don't go away. The folder used for the drive there, you said now Lightroom folder is now on drive Z, so if you look in Lightroom under drive Z, it will be there, everything as it should be.

• ITunes 12.4.2.4 TONES missing folder

  I updated to ITunes 12.4.2.4 and updated the software of the phone (6). Then, most of the music synchronized to the phone through (in-between crashes). All my ringtones (3 - made via Itunes) disappeared. Cannot see them on the phone in the sounds and settings, etc and don't see it in itunes. Managed to locate one of them I saved the last time by adding the file once a phone s/ware to date was an absolute PITA. But, even if I can make a file ACCESS, whenever I rename a file .4r (whose all the guides tell us to do), Itunes gives him the exclamation point and says that it cannot find the source file. I can make a copy of the source file... I find myself with many instances of the same file that won't just not forward to the "TONE" of the phone folder - there is no folder named "TONES" in Itunes, there was once in, but in this last update itunes - is not just there in the list of folders. Any help please. I use ITUNES version 12.4.2.4, Windows 7, and a 6 Iphone. The ringer is a seven second tune to the ACC format.

  OS X does not magically records and data, I suspect a user has made a mistake. Open the Recycle Bin to see if the folder and its contents is there. If they are then right-click and select set back and continue your work. If they are missing use your Time Machine backup to restore the folder. If you do not back up the computer and the data are not in the trash she is lost and cannot be recovered. That's why TM exists to avoid any data loss.
