  Windows 7 sometimes has trouble recognizing external drives connected to the USB ports. There are a number of possible corrections for this.

  1. make sure you that the USB port in question works with another device, that you know works. For example, take a mouse that you know doesn't work and plug it into the USB port is connected. The mouse still works? If Yes, go to #2.

  2 do a reset power coercive.

  1. Unplug the power cord. Then (on a laptop) remove the battery.
  2. Unplug all USB devices.
  3. Leave it alone - don't connect or reconnect the devices for several minutes.

Once installed, you need only browse the external drive and select it, then click Properties. That's all; simply choose the drive is enough to get the drive recognized by Windows 7, no formatting required.

  I have a MSi U100 running Windows XP Home SP3. After the last successful stop, the machine starts but just displays F3 on the screen, windows is not booting.   I suggest you follow the methods mentioned below:

  Method 1:

  Activate the hard disk and set hard as 1st priority to boot in the BIOS driver and check if the problem persists.

  Note: changes to the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  Method 2:

  Check if the hard drive is detected in the BIOS.

  Note: If you are not not to check the BIOS. I suggest you to contact MSi U100 to get help at startup in the BIOS.

  Your computer cannot read your SD card after you have made a recovery on your laptop.

  Go to Device Manager and uninstall the card reader, it should include the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

  This will uninstall and reinstall the driver for the card reader.

  YouTube and music on sites like projectplaylist have been buffered and not taking up only quite recently. I thought that trying to uninstall flash and reinstall would help. Well after that I uninstalled it, I can't install correctly. I've tried it in firefox and IE (I use Firefox as my main). I click on save file and it opens the installation box and installs and then when I go on youtube or any site that requires flash it acts like it is still uninstalled. I checked my programs and I don't have that software adobe reader and adobe air listed. I checked on the adobe site to see if it is downloaded and it is not. I have download the plug and it tells me it failed. I have no idea what I should do now. I'm not really familiar with computers enough to know what to do. I think that I tried to download it like 20 times now. If I go to download the "install flash player" icon. I would like to download and it acts like he did it but then nothing. It's so frustrating! It is not the first time that I had trouble downloading it before. I tried to do the ccleaner also. Any ideas? When I look at other sites using it just keeps giving me the manual download from adobe page. That it has not worked. Thanks if you can help. I'm ready to call a computer repair shop lol

  I have a Dell Dimension 9200 PC... It reads 1 GB and 2 GB SD cards fine... However when I plug my new 16 GB formatted card it does not detect it.

  Your 16 GB SD card is really a SDHC card.  Even if the card is the same size as the old SD cards, the internal structure is completely different.  To read an SDHC card, the drive must be SDHC compatible.  The reader needs internal 'material' to read SDHC cards.  Therefore, as you said you can read 1 to 2 GB cards, you have a single SD reader.  You will need to purchase a SDHC reader.

  Start on Safe Mode desktop.

  Remove the update that caused the broadcast of programs and features in Control Panel by clicking View installed updates.

  If you are not able to remove the update, use the utility window cleaning to remove the update. See the link below:

  If the steps above did not fix the problem, try to restore the system to a previous point before windows update when it worked fine.
