  Windows 10 is not yet officially released. Unless it is officially released drivers, no official support is present. For now, no official guarantee cannot be provided. However, I am sure that it will work properly. 10 Windows should recognize automatically.

  Unfortunately, you cannot use the keys provided for Windows 8 for Windows 7. In any case, directly upgrade your installation from Windows 7 to Windows 8. The keys are specific to the Windows versions, editions and architectures. They cannot be used between.

  Hello and welcome to the HP support forums.  Looks like you're right about the missing driver for your system.  Here is the link to your page of support systems.  It has all the drivers, user guides and software found here.

  First thing you want to do is go here and download all the software and drivers for your system.

  Make sure you double check what you have for the material in your device manager.

  The best thing to do is to develop your tree of devices in the Device Manager and take a screenshot or print it.

  This way you will know what drivers you need to install when the time comes.

  Once the drivers are downloaded, you will want to start your system in safe mode.

  Safe mode of Windows 8

  Now in safe mode, you can go into your device manager and uninstall your drivers.  You want to remove each of them.

  The reason is once you have your drivers removed you will need to start in regular mode windows.  Once there, you'll start reinstall all your drivers.  You must start with the chipset driver.

  The chipset driver is a bit like an agent of traffic for all other drivers.  If another driver is installed before the chipset you have problems that you are experiencing now.

  I would like to know how this happens.

  Sorry, no. You cannot move an OEM license on another computer.

  You can move the windows on a new computer

  If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.

  If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  It seems that you bought an XP license retail.  If so, you can just install this same drive with the same license key on your new machine as your old machine is no longer operational.  A retail license should be transferable, while an OEM license is bound to the first machine that it has been installed on.
