Why my pdf files have an icon to the left of the name of the file?
First of all, I'm technologically challenged. Somehow disappeard Adobe Reader from my computer and I could no longer save pdf files or open the files I had already saved. I think that I tried to open it in Word - that didn't work. I have re-charge Adobe Reader and can now open the pdf files and record new ones, but only from within the Adobe Reader program. All files have a Word icon to the left of the name of the file, but a .pdf extension. Help!
NO MATTER WHICH VERSION OF WINDOWS YOU ARE USING:
Right click on one of the PDF files with the Word icon.
Select "Properties".
Where it says "Open with" there is a button to change the word to Adobe Reader, which should be in the list of available programs that opens.
Choose the drive and click APPLY before clicking OK.
Which will change all files PDF Reader as the default application.

This is because the PDF file is not be open in Acrobat or Reader, but by the browser which is unable to handle the specific PDF content.

I get all my invoicing via the internet (PDF documents), thus eliminating virtually any snail mail.
My inability to print these PDF docs internet demanded my chrome download just to get my bills every day.
I'm willing to be patient for a short time, but if a 'solution' is not available quickly, I will be switching to chrome on a permanent basis.

Open a new window when linking between PDF docs (link originates in a Word doc)
Hello
I saw this discussed historically general topic, but couldn't find any resolution. I have a Word doc (let's call it A.doc) linking to a PDF doc (let's call it b.pdf). Once I have convert Word doc to PDF (A.pdf creation), I want the link en.pdf to open b.pdf in a new window.
I've seen a number of suggestions that indicate that I can set up the link in Word to do this, use her change the hyperlink > target frame > frame target > 'new window '. While this works if I click on the link in Word, it does seem to "reporter" once I converted A.doc to A.pdf. When I click the link en.pdf then B.pdf opens in the same window in time.
I know how to add manually link in Acrobat.pdf to do this, but I don't want you add manually the link every time I create A.pdf. I want to create the link once in A.doc and did delay in time, and then open the b.pdf link in a new window.
I've seen suggestions on adding some HTML somewhere. Unfortunately, they are not, that I'm viewing the PDF files in a browser.
I saw suggestions for using the CTRL key at the same time click on the link en.pdf. Would not be practical, because I have no way to make sure that my users will know it.
I've seen suggestions on the use of JavaScript, but it would mean (I know) I have to add the JavaScript whenever I convert A.doc A.pdf. Still, I won't have to do any post-processing of A.pdf after I got it to create. I want the link in 'just work' A.doc after A.pdf is created, i.e. open b.pdf in a new window.
This * seems * like a simple thing to do, I hope there is a simple solution.
BTW, I'm using Word 2007 and Acrobat X.
Thanks for your help!
Dave
I use Word 2003 and Acrobat 10 and links created as you describe defaults to 'new window '.
You have the 'Open links in the same interdocument window' unchecked in Edit > Preferences > Documents?
.. sounds too easy... (and your users will probably have to make the change even if they need this behavior, unless you have a very techno IT department that can deploy configuration files large company).

Downloading Firefox, all my saved PDF documents have been turned into a Google Chrome document format, WHY? WHY a person like me is not notified before that starts the download process so that they have a chance to 'place' or 'Cancel' the download process? I want that they all be changed to PDF, HOW should I do this?
Nothing happened to your files. The association for PDF files is messed up, or is the icon cache.
- Click round Windows logo in the taskbar and choose default programs.
- Click "associate any type of file or Protocol with a program.
- Select PDF from the list, then click on change program button.
- Choose the program that you want to manage PDF files. By clicking on the files PDF in Windows Explorer or the desktop then open them in this application.
To clear the cache of the icon, see the directions to
As far as I know, Firefox does not have PDF files somehow. There is a proposal to associate files PDF in Firefox when they are not already associated with an application, but has not been implemented to date (bug 787674).

why I do not have a link to reset my security questions
why I do not have a link to reset my security questions
If you have not then you don't have a spare checked on your account e-mail address (an additional/alternate e-mail address is different) - you need to contact Support in the country where you are (and therefore the country on your account) for reset questions: Contact Apple for the Apple ID account security support
If your country is not on this page, then try this form to contact Support: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
When they have been reset you can then add a backup for possible future use email address: on your Apple ID - Apple Support email addresses
Or if it is available in your country, you can substitute 2-step verification: frequently asked questions about two-step for Apple ID verification

I am the Director of technical support for more than 1000 computers. Recently in some computers (windows based) users cannot save .pdf, .doc files using "Save target as" in google search results. Can someone help me, I couldn't have known that the same works very well on some computers.
Hi MASPAdministrator,
Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the TechNet Windows XP forum.

I have a pdf very complicated with many links. I need to link individual file words that are in a series of folders. How can I connect to a folder instead of just a file?
If you set the link to the PDF files, then use the command "Go to a page view", then link to the specific location in the file that you want to run when the user clicks on the link. If you have a link to other file formats, then use the command "open a file". Remember that these links are relative (if the other file is on the same drive as the source file), so if you move the PDF file you need to move these files and folders with him or the links are broken.

I have previously a POWER1) product allows me to digitally sign a PDF document? (2) convert a word to PDF doc?
Hi robertb48724220,
I checked your account. You have an active subscription to Adobe PDF package, which allows you to convert files to PDF format, both signing (the fill & sign on Acrobat.com does not require a subscription). You can access your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/. Just sign in with your Adobe ID and password.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi michaelp70541244,
What did you use to convert Word to PDF doc? Whatever the method used, however, some fonts will be never incorporated, if the licenses for these fonts.

Acrobat CC closed PDF docs after 20 seconds [modified]
Recently deployed CC Adobe users, however, some are having problems with the PDF docs... the program opens fine, but when they open a PDF file, it closes by itself after about 10-20 seconds. Most of the users are ok but there is a little of this issue. We are running Windows 7 64 bit and we just improved XI Adobe Adobe DC. (Currently in version Adobe DC 15.010.20060)
Please tell us your thoughts... already tried a disconnection and connection on a bit but same problem persists. Help...
- Can you have these users tries to go to help > SignIn/SignOut?
- Also, can you have these users check to see if the preview pane enabled in file Explorer? If so, you can temporarily disable it to see if the problem goes away?
Finally, can send you the link to your networking service, they may need to re - run a script on their end in order to solve the problem: Acrobat Pro DC (installed via CCP) asking sign-in
