Why my windows live mail takes 5 minutes to start?

When I start windows live mail, the window 'departure' appears and sits there with the 'Dervish' va - more or less - for 5 minutes.

If I open the Task Manager there is no windows don't live showing mail application, but there is a process that shows the action called wlmail.exe running.

Not sure-, it started about a week ago - cannot say started coincides with what I can identify.

Hi Bill,

Windows Live Mail has its own dedicated support forums (this forum about 'Windows' is quite general in nature, but do not have specific programs to handle Live Mail).

However, I also see a similar topic discussed, where a member of the community has provided a quite detailed (currently marked as 'Response') post on how to identify the slow down and solve the problems of launch time).

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/Forum/LIVEmail-program/with-Windows-7-my-Windows-Live-Mail-is-very-slow/2b53a7d5-2842-43f4-8ea6-6c10e1e260d5

If these instructions, he provided help in your situation, please begin a new conversation in these forums "Windows Live Mail" then people who know that the application can help you better.

  • Why is windows live mail does not access the internet

I use windows 7 and since the latest windows live evening mail 11 has not been accessed to the internet to send or receive mail. When I connect in the connection symbol doesn't show not connected, so I connect.  However when I use send/receiver the message does not indicate connected. Is this a global problem or not... it seems a lot of time for Microsoft to solve such a problem.

The usual cause of this problem is to have your configured antivirus program to scan messages.  Disable any analysis of the mail, mail in your AV program particularly outgoing.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.

  • You want to CANCEL Windows Live Mail Initiation and remove it from my computer.

Start Windows Live Mail to see what 'new' services it was available.  She TOOK over MY COMPUTER, copied/converted all my e-mail folders to in its files and formats. (Fortunately it seems to have left my files of such ordinary Windows Messaging what.)  I don't see anything new he worth having, format is less than plain Windows Mail - more spread out, more junk to eliminate through to get to what I need.

I so WANT to CANCEL THE 'CONVERSION', REMOVE THE (duplicate SPACE GASPILLER) FILES IT CREATED AND THEN REMOVE ALL TRACES OF WINDOWS LIVE (all THE COMPONENTS) OF MY COMPUTER.  HOW CAN I DO THIS WITHOUT > WITHOUT< damaging="" my="" original="" plain="" windows="" mail="" folders,="" emails,="" contacts,="" accounts="" etc.="">

To uninstall Windows Live Mail (WLM)...
Start button > Control Panel > Classic view > Porgrams and features (or Add and Remove) > scroll to find Mindows Live Essentials, right-click, click UNINSTALL > follow the instructions from there.

    Note: you can check if
1.) your contact lists are the same in WLM and WM. If this isn't the case, you will need to save it in csv.
2.) you want to keep the WLM email messages. (If you "leave a copy of messages on the server" turned on, so you have no question there).

If you like and you don't know how, please post back.

  • Windows Live Mail - starts OK on initialize to top every day but disappears later in the day.

Running Windows Vista Home (Service Pack 2).  Using Windows Live Mail.

Normal daily start up, once online I have no problem running Live Mail.  I check for emails, and once completed, I normally have to close the program.  Later in the day, when I want to check for other emails, even once is not a problem.

However and on a random basis, there comes a time when I try to load Live Mail but it does not load.  Initially, the hourglass turns on and the light disc shows some activity, but Live Mail starts it.

If I do a Ctrl + Alt + Delete to check what programs are running, it shows Live Mail.

The only resolution I've found is to re - start the PC.  The model then rehearsals sometimes, but not always.

    Clues or fixes out there?

The next time you check the status in the Task Manager, when you find Windows Live Mail click the switch button to see if that move you to the program and he opened for you.

If it does not, in the Task Manager and then click Windows Live Mail and click on end task this is confirmed.  Once he is gone (give it some time), open another window, and then try to connect again.  It cannot solve the problem, but it's better than the re-start (if it works).

I would like to know if one of these workarounds help solutions.

If not, please transfer your question in Forum Windows Live Mail to: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop where experts in this program will be happy to help you.

  • Windows Live Mail in the background

I can't start Windows Live Mail unless I go in the Manager of tasks and under process complete the task of Windows Live Mail.  Then I can start again.  However, I do almost every time I want to start my email.  This problem can be corrected?  I used to be able to just click on my e-mail icon, and email would begin.  I don't know what happened now I have to go into Manager tasks.  Thank you.

  • Why do I have an account Hotmail and Windows Live Mail? What is the difference?

Some time ago I had a problem getting into my Hotmail account when a transaction has been by Microsoft.  It did not recognize my passwords and told me I tried too many times to do so I plugged the support staff who said that I only had not provided them with enough information to reopen my account and they told me to open a new.  I did it.  Then I found a Windows Live Mail account on my computer that had my old Hotmail top messages.  I didn't open this account and it don't did me not a password, when I saw the icon and clicked it open.  Now, I had this account which was again Hotmail messages sent to my old account but name to send e-mail messages, I got to use my new account.  I was confused, but agree with that.  Now, however, the Windows Live Mail is asking for a password and I have the same problem I had before.
