  Thank you led.  I managed to find another staff member of Benedict who helped erase the activation crashed computers CS3.  He crashed twice in the past two years, and I guess that the two installs exhausted my limit of 2 use even though it was really on the same computer.  In any case everything is ok now but thanks for your help too Nelson

• Why Photoshop CS5 using my external drives?

  I keep having a problem where I can't take it apart my external hard drives while Photoshop is running.  I have unchecked in the system for "scratch disks" preference, "then what else can cause Photoshop to use external drives?  It's a real drag to have to leave Photoshop every time I want to spend my laptop in another room.

  (By the way, the only reason why this disc is attached is that it contains my music library, so no, I'm not open files on this disk is.)

  You have no files to everything that Photoshop can use on the drobo? Brush Tip shapes, patterns, etc.

  None open at present, but what about files in the list of recent documents?

• Why Photoshop opacity don't add up?

  I've always wondered this, but now it's starting to annoy me that I'm experimenting with stacking to reduce/change layer noise.

  If I have 2 layers at 50% opacity and a layer of white below, these combined layers must be equal to 100% opacity and so I would not be able to see anything under the bottom layer.

  Instead I think it is that you have to stack layers of more than 15 to 50% until they begin even to appear opaque (and 15 that they aren't yet).

  What is the calculation behind here? I would have assumed that, with an image to 8-bit, 256 levels of transparency so at 50%, you have the two layers of 128; 128-128 = 0 or no transparency then why does photoshop still allow something to be visible under who? While we are there, why 100% completely opaque air, but 99% is radically different without layer below? Maybe math is adding up but an opacity of 50% is actually more like 5% opaque?

  There is a blending mode that I can use this desire similate the accumulation of opacity with more precision? I am really annoyed by the fact that I can't really predict how the layers will interact according to their opacity; I wish I have at least understood the science behind him so I could modify my process to produce the results I want.

  You were correct. If a layer is opaque at 100% and others are less opaque, then the layer 100% will have more than influence other layers. You do not have to calculate an average image in this way.

  I scored over there because I misunderstood what is meant. I guess it will give an average of layers if each layer has a percentage of opacity of 100/n, where n is its position in the stack, 1 being down.

  PS CS6 and CS5.1 (and perhaps earlier) extended characteristic image stacks that can calculate an average image.

  With a standard version of the Ps, mode 32-bit floating point to calculate an average image by adding your images and dividing by the number of images. The gamma in the process settings are necessary if your source images do not have a linear color profile because the Ps will convert it to linear on opening in a document of 32 bits. Let me know if you want to help with that.

  When you select print settings in Photoshop, Photoshop crashes. iMac with the Mavericks 10.9.5 is my operating system.

  I use a printer Epson R3000.

  Epson is a problem for Adobe, as it will print mail on my Mac with no problems.

  The problem was solved by removing the printer folder and download new drivers.

  It happened during the selection of Print Options to print with Photoshop.

  I have a Tecra 8000 running Win98 SE and use a card PCMCIA 3Com for my Internet connection. I was troubleshooting my computer on another issue and in the process disabled Cardbus PCMCIA Toshiba ToPIC controllers. After you have enabled these again once I am more able to communicate with the PC card and so unable to connect to the Internet.

  Card troubleshooting agent PC States: "Windows is not able to identify or use the inserted PC card device because there is no available memory area to connect with this device. You need to do an area memory available before this device can be used. Check the CONFIGURATION of your computer. A memory manager that is excluding the regions of superior memory between A000 and FFFF in the SYS file '.

  My Cardbus controllers are defined as follows:
  1 memory range - 0c 000000 - 0C000FFF
  2 memory range - 001000 0c - 0C001FFF

  My PC Card (PCMCIA) properties are as follows:
  Card services shared memory:
  Start 000c 0000
  End 00FFFFFF
  Length 00001000

  While the PC Card Modem is recognized at the Port, it can be communicated with and error message is shown as follows:

  Have you tried to uninstall the Cardbus drivers? Not sure about the location in Win98 (in XP it is in Device Manager), go to "PCMCIA adapters" and uninstall all entries in controller.

  Reboot and Win98 will perform his routine "new hardware found". This is going to re - install drivers and with a bit of luck should solve your problem.

  While the machine runs always, don't forget to disable the software on it before she died.  Otherwise, you will need to contact support by chat and ask that they turn off for you.   To disable, you can just open one of the applications and choose Help-> Deactivate.

  Just try to install CS5 on the new laptop computer.

  If you get a message about exceeded activations then contact Adobe, explain the situation and get the County of activation reset.

  First upgrade to 12.0.4 Adobe - Photoshop: for Macintosh: Adobe Photoshop 12.0.4 updated for Adobe Photoshop CS5

  This installer is out before Gatekeeper and is not signed up for this.

  Right click or Ctrl-click on Setup, then choose open for the warning and the Open button which will allow you to run it.

  12.0.4 fixed a lot of bugs, so we will if it solves your printing problem.

  For Photoshop CS2 activation has been reprocessed, so your original drive and the serial number does not work.

  As an owner of CS2, Adobe has a copy without activation and serial number, to which you are entitled.

My computer is a standard industry individually self-made with more than 3 terabytes of HARD disk space and 16 GB of RAM with 2 x 4600 Nvidia Quadro graphics for design work specific cards and running windows 7 Professional and an evaluation copy of windows 8, so I don't have a system of traffic on the specifications indicated the installation was fast, but I'm stuck with the invalid number serial number.

  In this case I'd

  1) contact your Academy and see if they have updated their online courses to allow download of the CS6 extended to the time your semester begins and

  (2) contact the Customer Service of Adobe Education Store to see if you have met the requirements for obtaining the license CS5.5 after a certain date in the past, but before the release of the CS6.  You see that it is a certain window you must fall into. If you obtained the license too far in the past so it is not valid for the CS6 but your school should do rentals for you if they expect you to complete the course work.
