Original title: a program is listed in programs and features. It was uninstalled and deleted directories. Yet, it still shows in the list programs and features. How can I remove it?

I had installed this program before. I thought I had uninstalled. I tried to re-install this program, but cannot. I checked the list of programs, and it is still in the list, after being uninstalled. How do I remove it from the list?

    Hi n4ctf,

Take a look at this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481

Edit the registry to remove an entry. This link refers to Windows XP but I checked with Windows 7 and it works so it should work with Vista.

Once you have access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall you will see a list of numbers. You will need to go through each of these numbered editions to find the program you want to remove. Click on a number in the left column, for example {08D605B4-DCD1-451F-ABD7-52E6BB868E4E} and you will see then the details is in the right column of the registry editor. See the 'full name' so check to see what the numbers program refers to.

Normally, I would recommend that you try to reinstall the application rather that tinkering with the registry, but as you have already tried unsuccessfully to re - install, change the registry could be the last option. By the way, before making any changes in the registry, make sure that you back up the registry first. This link of my website will show you how to back up the registry:http://vistasupport.mvps.org/backup_the_registry.htm

  • Why Windows Media Player is not displayed in my list of programs and features?

Must indicate all items that are installed on my computer, at least I thought. If someone has an idea, I would appreciate a response. Thank you for your time and your help.

All the built-in programs that are part of the Vista operating system will NOT be displayed in programs and features. To simplify the reason, Windows Media Player 11 is part of the operating system and cannot be uninstalled. So there is not need to be listed in programs and features, whose main goal is to uninstall or repair any installed programs. Another example is Windows Defender.

    For your information:

In Windows 7, Windows Media Player 12 is also part of the operating system and it cannot be uninstalled and it will not reveal in programs and features either.

  • Programs not listed in "programs and features".

Sir, I have a dell laptop inspiron 1545... all of a sudden the programs that I installed on my win 7 32 bits do not appear in the "Programs and features" window... only 3-4 programs are visible... but infact I installed 5 GB of various programs... What is the problem Sir? pls know me... This happened after I ran the Dell Support Center which was digitization of the material at that time here.

    Hello

    • Are what program you referring?
    • What have been the recent changes until the problem occurred?

This can also occur if the installation files are broken or missing for the program which may be reason for the program does not appear in uninstall a program from the list.

I suggest that you run the program to install the program again and check if you get an option to uninstall the program and try to uninstall the program.
If it still does not uninstall the program, and then try to reinstall the program and uninstall afterwards.

  • Pavilion dv2 Notebook: how to uninstall items in "All programs" which are not displayed via programs and features

I do not play games on my computer. I uninstalled 'My HP Games' (32 items) via the control panel. However, there are 11 items that appear in the games through "All programs", but are not displayed by the intermediary of "Control Panel / programs and features. There is also a link to eBay.com, in "All programs" that I would like to delete.

    How to uninstall these components?

    Hi @jarhtmd,

    Thank you for your response.

The sample you provided it seems there are some games that you should be able to uninstall in Add Remove programs.

For example, 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Chess'. When you look in the programs listed do you see "Microsoft Games\Chess, if so you should be able to uninstall."  It would be listed under Microsoft Games / and the name of the game.

As some of the Microsoft games that came with the Windows installation you can not have an option to uninstall them.

Those ending with "lnk" is just links. Try right click and delete.

    Good luck!

  • CC in Photoshop are not not in "Programs and features" of Windows 8.1

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge Adobe Extension Manager CC and CC CC are not listed in the "Programs and features" section of control panel of Windows 8.1. Only Adobe Creative Cloud Manager is listed. I have to install Photoshop CC because the update failed with error U44M1P7 code. The support councils are to remove Photoshop and reinstall because I have no other options to solve this error of update.  Revo Uninstaller Pro and Ashampoo Uninstaller 5 also don't show the programs Adobe CC in its list of programs. What can I do to solve this problem?

  • Folder "Programs and features" shows the installed program, but is blank when the file size must be listed.

Original title: what does it mean when you have a program installed, but when you open the folder "Programs and features" it shows the program installed but remains empty where should be the size of the file?

Shows information for the installed program, including the NAME, PUBLISHER, & INSTALLED ON (DATE), but under the info column of SIZE empty sound while 98% of all my installed programs show how much KB or MB "and specific program installed. Seems to lack the SIZE info only on any one of my Adobe programs and a few select other random programs?

    Hi AlinaSporl,

The size information is reported by the uninstaller for each program component. A program of uninstalling programs will not report this value, so the size of the program does not appear in this list.

Another way to get a close estimate of the total size for an individual program is to check the properties of this installation of programs parent folder in C:\Program Files.

You can read the following article and check:

How add/remove programs is the size and other information?

    Hope this information is useful.

Yes, you need those many programs requires the C++ library to run. Think of it a lot
sharing programs these files to run instead of having them all to provide duplication of
those who eat even more room.

  • All my programs that once displayed in programs and features are no longer the

Also, I wonder why all my programs that, once appear on programs and features and now no longer?

Seems that the x 86 programs disappeared.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

    -

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

    -

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To do that click on start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

    `

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.

  • How to uninstall Adobe CS6 Design Standard of my machine? Program is not listed in "programs and features".

I have Adobe CS6 Design Standard installed on my machine and now I have a new machine that I need to put this. I'm trying to uninstall it from my old machine because I need to have the 'licence' is available. However, the adobe programs do not appear in my dialog uninstall Windows 7.  I guess that I uninstalled something on an (Adobe Application Manager?) accident that causes this problem.

I have the physical disk for the standard of the CS6. Please I need help understanding how to uninstall programs... I can always use them and they are simply the icons on my desktop, but do not appear in my dialog "programs and features".

I appreciate all help you provide.

for the available license you just need to 'turn off' on one of your two active facilities.  That is to say, open an adobe program and click Help > deactivate.

now, if you want to uninstall (and there is no reason to leave installed a permanently disabled softwarwe), reinstall (to install the uninstall program), and then use the uninstall program.

  • Not all installed programs appear in "programs and features".

A few days ago, I installed GTA IV with all components like Rockstar Social Club, Games for Windows and things related as update for .net 3.5 SP1 and so on. Since then, whenever I open the "programs and features" dialog box (I dunno if it's the correct name because I use a German, Vista Ultimate SP1...) the dialog box shows some of the installed programs and the scanning process remains active all the time. In the Task Manager, the explorer.exe shows a 99% CPU usage, and that's all. Even after a few hours, it's the same thing. Is this a known issue? Y at - it advice or ideas (other then reinstall Vista ;)?

    Marcus

    Hello again Marcus!

I was wondering a few things...

You never said if your system meets the minimum requirements for installation of GTA IV...

    Namely:

    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz, AMD Athlon X 2 64 2.4 Ghz
    • Memory: 1.5 GB
    • Space free hard drive: 16 GB
    • Video card: 256 MB NVidia 7900 / 256 MB ATI X 1900
    • DirectX 9-compatible stereo sound card
    • Keyboard
    • Mouse

If your system does not meet the minimum requirements, alone could cause 99% CPU usage and problems to run the game.

In addition, I never asked before, but I wanted to know if you were trying to uninstall GTA IV when you are looking for in "programs and features"?

If you're still having problems, I suggest to uninstall GTA. If you don't see it in programs and features, you can download the following Microsoft utility and use it to uninstall GTA.

    Windows Install CleanUp Utility: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

This will have to be run in XP compatibility mode in Vista

To run a program in compatibility mode:

    1. Right click on the shortcut for the item.
    2. Click on Properties
    3. Click on the compatibility tab.
    4. Check the run this program in compatibility mode for , and then select the version of Windows, the program has been designed for the list. If you don't know what the program is designed for, try Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
    5. Click OK

After uninstalling GTA, see if you have the same problems of use of CPU...
