Why the file size increases when cropping in Photoshop CC?

While cropping a picture significantly increases the size of the file.

7360 X 4912 px image (Image size: 103, 4 M) after cropping at 60 X 40 cm 300 px, dates back to a 18000 X 12000 px image (Image size: 618,0 M). And the computer is unable to cope with such a file...

It wasn't like that when I started to use the program.

I crop the image even with CS5 and the result is a picture of px 7087 X 4724 (Image size: 95.8 M) which is normal...

Enjoy will help you...

I found my problem and solved. When units of culture resolution was incorrectly set to 'px/cm '... When changed to ' px/in' problem solved. Thank you very much aid...

  • Why the file size is reduced when the visibility of the layer is hidden?

With the same PSD file, I have hidden the visibility layer and recorded another copy, and I noticed that the file size is significantly reduced.

    Anyone know why?

    Thank you

When you maximize the verified compatibility, Photoshop records a version flattened your file in the psd. When you hide the layers and save, of course, the flattened version will consist of your file psd with these missing layers. If these layers had a lot of additional information, as opposed to simply a lot of white space or easily compressible full areas, then you will see a difference in file size.

  • Why the file size does not change when I use "Process multiple Images" to add a watermark?

    Hello

I use 11 elements. To add a watermark to a lot of JPG photos at the same time, I use the function 'process multiple files.

I select a source folder and a destination folder and adds a number to three numbers for each file. I do NOT check the box marked 'change photo size. After that, I set the watermark I want printed on my photos and hit OK. All files in the source folder are processed and saved with a new name in the destination folder. Loyally.

But. The file size of the new file is strongly reduced, compared to the original. He's going from 10 MB to 500 KB (in general). Why is this? Is there a way I can help?

    Kind regards

    / Mikael Lindgren

File size reduction is the effect of jpeg compression. In the process several files dialog, check the bottom option "convert files to the format" and choose "jpeg max quality.

  • The file size increases until the application fails

Win xp + flash player 8 and flash 8 of what THERE is IS a KIOSK PROJECT, no browser involved.

    Greetings.

I have a kiosk project that loads external swf very large (200-300 MB) with video integrated in function 'screen saver '. The screen saver charge (and discharge) maybe 3 or 4, and then, on the 5th, the application does not load the SWF file. I also get an "out of virtual memory" message to the taskbar.

Based on that observation, I began the follow-up of the 'task manager' for 'Util' and found that every time the screensaver Manager, a few hundred MB would be added to the Page file... AND HE LEFT. Thus, with each screen saver successive loading, the PF would get more increasingly broad.

I think this is the reason for the swf screensaver which stops loading after a certain number of times.

I've tried the settings of FP in great settings windows, but doesn't seem to help. The swf file stops loading when the PF is about 1.5 to 1.7 GB, even if I set the pf max to 4096 MB.

Is it then possible to "empty" the PF during the unloading of the extern SWF?

    ADDITIONAL TESTS:

I did a few tests more. I made a test database movie that loads an external swf, the code below.

the "loadtest.swf" is a large TIFF on the stage which gives the swf file to a size about 5 MB. Also on this SWF is a button that calls removeScreenSaver() to discharge.

What I have observed in this test, it's that when the loaded swf file is removed, PART of the memory is cleaned file exchange, but NOT ALL about HER. Therefore, it has the same potential problems.

This seems to be a pretty huge problem but I got no. chance find all messages or help on this?

Download a trial version and try it please.

Is your main file a file of projection?

You do not have all of the files inside the exe, you can use the LOCAL %
    to play SWF files.

Also we recommend that try to reduce the size of your SWF files and test
    If that helps.

  • File size increased when the convert .docx in .pdf

    Hi all

I had problems with Adobe: I need to convert a lot of Word (.docx) documents in Adobe (.pdf) files. I need to limit the size of these documents as there are limits to my project. I converted a 27 k file recently and it turned out as a PDF 207 kb. When I save it, I select "Minimum size" when registering in the box 'optimize for '. As I know, during the conversion, the .pdf files should be smaller than the original files. Please help me on this

I use Microsoft Office 2013 and Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06)

    Not bad. Different.

As it seems that you convert to save in Word, rather than using Adobe software. If you have Acrobat Pro, you can both use it to make the PDF (many different ways, many parameters) and analyze the use of the space.

  • Md7 - file size increases when you bind eps graphics

Hello. I work with md7 (Windows version) and a file has reached about 1 Mb with each graphic eps I have a link (and there are many of them, the size is quite large). Do not incorporate the graphic file is selected. The eps files are from CorelDraw X 4 and their sizes are approximately 100 KB. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You create your own preview of the eps in Pagemaker? This would represent a gain in size. If you can save the eps of Corel with a tiff preview, I think it works better with pagemaker.

  • Why the reduction in file size drastic in cropped images?

I cropped just a picture of 9 MB a very SMALL amount and the resulting image was 756 KB. Why? Is this normal?

What are the dimensions in pixels before and after cropping? The file size is normally determined when you export a copy of the cropped image. It will depend on the settings you choose in the dialog box export for example image size, resolution and jpeg quality unless you export as PSD or by another file format which normally have larger files. In summary, that the file size is not that important as long as the image meets the requirements of your destination ex a picture with a resolution of 72 DPI to average quality compression will be fine for use on sites and blogs while you would need a resolution of 240-300 PPI and of high quality if you were doing an impression.

  • Why the JPG file size decreases when Lightroom writes meta data?

Lightroom uses the files sidecar XMP for meta data history for RAW files. When writing the metadata (e.g. tags) to JPG files, they are written directly in the header of the file. This should leave the image information in the file intact. However, the file size decreases (about 0.02 MB) when Lightroom writes metadata for the original JPG file. As far as I could see, the image information remain unchanged and no other information in the header is deleated, but why decreases the size of the file then (I expect to increase slightly or stay the same)? I work with RAW files for most but sometimes I just versions of the files to work with JPG and I don't want to lose any information.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

  • Why the font size is so great when adding text to the photo in high resolution?

Why the font size is so great when adding text to the photo in high resolution?

Font size is usually determined by the size in points. 72 points equal to 1 inch. the size is independent of the size of your actual file. You might have a file that is located at 72 dpi, which is set to a 5 X 7 "and the police would be the size even if it is a 1200 dpi image 5 X 7.

  • Why a jpg file size grows when I OPEN it in Photoshop before you do anything for her?

I open a jpg file which my trusty Mac tells me is 2.4 MB, but Photoshop has immediately 34.8 Mb in size of the image. It is a picture of 72 dpi which is 59,333 inches width x 39,556 inches in height. I want to REDUCE it to one 17 "(approx.) size 11" for printing, which allows Photoshop to increase the resolution. I UNCHECK resample, and enter a width of 17. I have 17 inches wide; 11,333 inches and a resolution of 251,294 inches. Great! What I don't understand, however, is that - without Photoshop add no matter what pixel (remember, I REDUCE the size of the photo without resampling) - the size of the file is more than 14 times larger. The same thing with each jpg Photoshop I opened: 129Kb photo opens in Photoshop to 482.6 Kb; a 1.2 MB file opens to 5.49 MB, etc. I didn't not do anything at all, but open them. Without a doubt, it's something I should have learned (maybe you) long, long ago, but it has baffled me now. Very grateful for any help.

The size you see in the finder is the compressed size. When you open it in Photoshop, you can see the enlarged size.

  • When lowering pixels of resolution of a video, the file size becomes smaller...

    Hello!

    My question is this:

    I am importing a tiff of scope (2048 X 858) 2K sequence in Premiere Pro CC 2015.

When I go to the export section, as you can see in this video link:

First Pro CC 2015 (resolution size) export settings - YouTube

and try to lower the resolution 2048 X 858, 5 X 2 or 854 X 480 or 1280 X 536! the size of the file remains the same! Is this possible?

This means that if I have a 4K video and a video card, they will have exactly the same file size!

I tried to make a sequence of low resolution and drop tiff sequence and adjustment of the sequence in the image of low resolution tiff, but I have the same problem.

I've even nested sequence of high-resolution sequence of lower resolution, but... Nothing...

Does this make sense? What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you!

    Yiannis

Yiannis, Yes. Unlike a photo, a video, the file size is determined by the data rate. However, the data/flow isn't what determines quality, you need to consider in the codec you use.

For example, a 50 Mbit/s, 720 x 480 H.264 file and a 50 Mbps DV (video only, forgetting the audio codecs) will be exactly the same size. but the H.264 file is going to be better because it's a step more coded with a better compression algorithm.

Another factor that determines the size of the file is the frame rate. I'm not saying that you should drop your rate to save space, but know that if you save 2 files with the same exact settings, but we're 30 p or 25 p and the other is 50 p or 60 p, then the latter will be twice as large.

  • File size swells when the applied filter

I use Fireworks as part of my work which ends in png Fireworks used as a layer in Illustrator and eventually have exported in the form of SVG.

I needed bring the original png in Fireworks to change light levels.

It worked well, but the filter has more than doubled the size of the resulting each SVG file.

Is there a way to 'apply filter' permanently for the file sizes may come down to their point of reference?

Another option could be to batch through photoshop if it would give me an option to reduce the effects.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Tracked down the problem - and the increase in size had nothing to do with the filter.

The first time I had recorded files, I used the feature of agricultural area, and who grew up an optimization dialog box automatically.

With resave ordinary, she didn't cross the optimization, so much larger files.

Optimization of restored files to their previous (smaller) size even with the filter in place.

  • Why can't I reduce the file size of virtual disk?

Workstation help 8.0.4, why is the file size of virtual disk for my more bigger than the amount of space used within the instance instance?

The instance (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit) HARD drive is 40 GB... He is currently using 28.6 GB of this space.

But the hard for instance file is 34.5 GB size - it is more than 20% larger.

I defragmented the drive on the instance.

I defragmented and compacted file hard (via the 'vmware-vdiskmanager' command line utility)

    I defragmented the host drive.

Any not really - I'm just curious as to why I can't get it down to a smaller size (mainly to speed up backups)

Narrowing of a virtual disk is done in two steps. Unused disk space must first be cancelled in the comments, what OS, then blocks not null the hard are copied to a new file hard. With VMware Workstation 8, you can start this process in the VMware Tools window (right-click the icon in the system tray)
