Let us examine the situation before considering to Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 to 12.

Important information to know is what the dialog box burn shows for required space and flow when you have a checkbox next to 'Fit content of available space' just before you click the burn button.

Just a reminder, the DVD disc labeled 4.7 GB / 120 minutes is actually 4.38 GB, not 4.7 GB. And, if you went to a labeled to 8.5 GB DVD disc / 240 minutes, which is not 8.5 GB 7.95 GB, actually. You say that the space required is 4.3 GB. You are probably the disk capacity or more. If you used 'Fit content space' and you will see a Bitrate less than 8.00 Mbit/s, then the project lowers the flow to make the adjustment. Low flow rate means a lower quality. If this is the case, how low is important. So, what is the speed of transmission in the dialog box burn before you hit button burn here?

The other factor in front of you, if you do a big project in Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is computing resources. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is going to be an app 32 bit, if it is running in 32-bit compatibility of a 64-bit mode or 32-bit system. That means maximum supported installed RAM = 4 GB on which 3.2 to 3.0 GB or less available.

In the foregoing, thoughts could be to consider the disc with the DVD double single layer (8.5 GB / 240 minutes) and Premiere elements 10, 11 or 12, which would be a 64 application when run specifically on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64 bit... Premiere Elements offers 64-bit resources.

However, you must decide within or on the content of the timeline and irregularities in there (placement of the transitions, fragments in titles, audio placement, etc.) as well as the requirements of size and resources timeline.

A very thorough inspection of the extended timeline is important here.

You said that you were able to burn on record (presumed 'Record 4.7 GB'). If you need your DVD-video on DVD now and burn it on is not yet resolved, you can take the VIDEO_TS folder in the backup folder and bring it to DVD-VIDEO on DVD using the free ImgBurn program (category 'Write the files/folder on drive')

http://www.Afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_imgburn.cfm

You don't have to bother with any Audio_TS folder which could be mentioned in the article.

With all downloads, be careful for your choices during the download and installation so that you don't get unwanted software on your computer while ImgBurn program download and installation.

If you need assistance with the ImgBurn program, please let us know.

Use it only if you need your DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc now and burn on doesn't work yet.

Did you open a new project and as a mini series of tests, tried a burn on a disc with a smaller content of chronology? If Yes, how? If so, then look at the size of the project problem as well with regard to irregularities in the extended timeline.

We will look for your results.

Thank you.

    Hello

    1. are you able to read any type of file .doc or .txt of DVD?

After following all the steps (including the update of the MP9 for Media Player [MP] 11) below

I can get the drive to DISPLAY all the data from the DVD (Master & Commander 'movie)

on-screen MP11.  He plays (automatically) the intro (ONLY) from the DVD music (as when you put it in a DVD player, forward to press PLAY) MP11 shows all of the content and all the files on the DVD and SEEMS ready to play, but pressing on PLAY don't either not anything.

2 , what exactly happens when you try to burn the CD? You get the error message?

MediaPlayer, selection of a track list, made a list of titles, and then click BURN... nothing happens

4 have you tried to play the DVD content in ? windows media player

I had not before, but now I have.  Previously it was default to my SELECTION WIN DVD4 as the DVD player (I think I've EVER SEEN the WINDVD format/start page on the front screen - it wasn't the default front DVD player either but don't remember what program PLAYS the DVD, he ' comes of ").  Now, go back and see 1. above for MP11 more details.

Try to update the drivers of CD-RW/DVD drive and check. Also update the graphics driver.

    I did the entire bottom.

    1. click on Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2 click on the hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

3 right-click on the CD-RW/DVD drive, and then select set to update driver.

He asks if I have an OEM driver and / disk... NO.. I run the program through...

"Hardware update Wiz can not find a better match the software installed"

    4. right click on the graphics card and select Update driver. »

There is no "graphics card" on the material.  This machine has integrated graphics using a part of the main memory (or other) to run the video section:

    UNKNOWN

    Title 1

    Title2

Title 3 etc., but could not do anything with this list.

He appeared a box asking if I wanted to update my MP9... sure why not so I shut everything down and uninstalled 9 and installed Media player 11.

Go BACK to # 1. now once again.  This is where I am.  MP11 shows all DVD data, the chart "the Album/DVD cover, all"titles"on the DVD, AND play the track audio 'intro' DVD but will not actually READ the DVD. "

So far it's PROGRESS.  We are at a point where it SEEMS at least that we are ready to PLAY and MP can SEE all the info on the DVD.

I see many people on other sites of the same question: Player does not work after FORMAT operating system and reinstall of WIN (and in my case: WinXP SP3 and WIN DVD4 of OEM disc)

Thanks a lot for your help so far... I hope that we can get to the next step and get the reader of CD-RW/DVD on 'PLAY '.

  • Roxio takes about 190 minutes to compress my dvd for burning, is this normal?

    Time to compress the video

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron N4110 Win7 professional.  The laptop uses a dual-core Intel Pentium B940 / processor dual thread clocked at 2 GHz with 4 GB RAM and 200 GB of free space on the hard disk.  I am recording video analog (NTSC) and stereo audio to aid Easy VHS of Roxio hardware to DVD / software package.  Video is scanned in real time by the A/D converter.  A 100-minute VHS video produced a mpg of 6.13 GB hard disk file.  The compression process of Roxio to shrink the file to mpg of 6.13 GB less than 4.7 GB for recording on a DVD + R single takes about 190 minutes.  Is it a normal time for my laptop?  Are there other programs of compression that would be much faster?    Would be a better laptop with an Intel quad core / 8 processor i7-2860QM thread and 8 GB of RAM to reduce the significant period of time compression, for example less than 60 minutes?

    DVD-video is encoded more time-based
as the size of the file. Compression is not necessary.

A video file of 100 minutes should fit on a 4.7 GB DVD.

  • DVD/CD BURNER

My computer missing acknowledge it's DVD/CD burner. What is wrong with him?

    Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Used speed, the actual brand of discs, burning and if file Live or mastered all come into
play. A cleaning disc can sometimes help.

    ------------------------------------------------

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer

    I hope this helps.
