Why Win8 requires an update for uploaded videos that have been working well?

I went to play videos I saved and previously viewed and get a message that I need to install an update to read. Why?

I was able to read them after getting the update, but had to wait until I was on WiFi coverage.

If automatic update has changed my system and updates needed more is possible to disable the automatic update?

It depends on came the videos.  Most video stores like iTunes and other things will include DRM protection so that videos cannot be played unless you download updates over time. It is efforts to block people from sharing videos.
