Why Windows 7 will not allow games such as Solitaire, to be saved?

I love playing solitaire and the games that come with Windows 7.  However, the game will not save more often. I reached $1,100 + and you exit the solitary program only to go back and start from scratch.

Why games will not save in Windows 7?

Hi Suzanne,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

According to the description, it seems that you are having problems with Microsoft games such as Solitaire times record. I will definitely help you with this problem.

To resolve this problem, I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the windows feature set and check if the problem is resolved.

To enable or disable Windows features, follow these steps:

1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programsand then click on turn Windows features on or OFF. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. to activate a Windows function, check the check next to the feature. To disable a feature Windows, clear the check box. Click OK.

Certain Windows features are grouped together in folders, and some folders contain subfolders with additional features. If a box is partially checked or is dimmed, then some items in the folder are turned on and some are turned off. To view the contents of a folder, double-click it.

  • Windows 8 will not install games, I had running on my XP service pack 3.

Windows 8 on new asus laptop moved games I have running on my Dell XP SP3, I ran the compatibility options, and even if the computer recognizes that iam version try to install it always used to install. the same program can be easily installed on the XP computer I still so there is no apparent problem with the program itself.

I also checked the option to run programs in XP compatibility mode but still no results.

If you are referring to the games that came in previous versions of Windows, these have been removed by Microsoft and are not available period. You can find a lot of free games in the store of Windows 8, or you can download from the internet.  Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

  • 21 of Firefox running on Windows 7 will not allow creating new bookmarks

I just installed Firefox 21 on a PC running Windows 7. I can't go to the 'About' screen, and Firefox won't create new bookmarks. Or by clicking on the star in the browser or right click on the menu drop-down window works.

I might add that whenever Firefox installed a new version after version 19, such a problem appeared. What gives?

Note that problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.

  • Why my modules will not allow?

Recently I've updated Firefox as my modules were disabled. Normally this would fall under the wire "Reactivate Add-ons" you guys already, but I don't get an error message on the Add-ons. I just tried to re - activate them about five times (as well as a few days ago), and I can tell him "it will be enabled when you restart Firefox", restarting is not able. They will just return must be disabled. The I want to activate are NoScript and DownloadHelper.

Hello, this sounds like the files in your profile folder that store the information on your extensions has been corrupted. Please go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile - display folder... then windows Explorer should open your profile folder. there looking for files named extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite, extensions.sqlite - journal (and in some cases also extensions.txt, extensions.rdf). delete or rename the files and quit firefox, they will be regenerated the next time you start firefox.

  • Why Windows backup will not work on a network share?

I am running Vista Home Premium and have a drive WD MyBookWorld NAS on a MS LAN.  OneCare used to do all my backups, never had any problem, but OneCare is no more.  I also have a NAS Iomega 2 TB hard drive and the problem is exactly the same for that too - XP and 7 can save on it, Vista can not.

Windows backup works very well for readers SIN of my XP and 7 machines, but both the Vista, those who refuse.  I can drag and drop files from Vista to NAS, it's just the backup center who is the problem.  When I select the NAS drive for the backup on, he asks a user name and password.  My login to the Vista machine id does not work, and the administrator to the NAS password does not work.  The procedure fails with the 0x800706C6 message.  He refuses also backup on XP or 7 machines (with different messages).  He would be the backup on my other machine to Vista, but I do not have spare storage!
I have read articles countless and tried to turn on/off control of accounts and mapping changes the network drive, without success - the error message, but does not go far.
There is an industry on the internet trying to sell people PCHA (what is described as a Microsoft product), but I can't find any help on the Microsoft web site.  It is very bad, when the fault is so common.
Help, please.  What should I do?

    Hello

Windows Home Premium backup can't backup on a network location.
So you will need to use an application of part 3. Professional, comprehensive and Enterprise edition
    backup to a network share.

You can share files and use the 3rd backup XP to do or use Acronis or other
    party utilities.

I prefer for the most of backup data and prefer to do it in a way that makes it easy to find
and to restore a file as well as many.

Replicator - free - excellent backup tool for backing up the data

  • Windows 7 will not allow a batch file to run.

I created a batch file.  Double-clicking it in Explorer lights up only the Publisher.  It runs in a command window does the editor.  That is what it is?

Should it run in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP (SP3) maybe? Right click, select Properties , and then make the changes in the compatibility tab.

You didn't mention what your batch file has been written to do, but it must run an command with administrator privileges prompt?

To start an elevated command prompt, click Start and type CMD but do not press ENTER. Find the program listed above CMD and right click and select run as administrator.

If this does not work the script file, you will need to click right on the. BAT or. CMD and select Properties. Under the tab compatibility , under privilege level, check the run as Administrator option. This should be performed by the users of the human resources of the computer, click on change settings for all users and make your changes as well.

  • Why windows 8 will not let me save files whenever I want?

    My computer is Windows 8.

    I'm the only user.

    I have administrator privileges.

I tried to save a Notepad edited readme file in a subfolder of the Program Files (x 86).

... had the message "you have authorization to the administrator to register here.

the only buttons were "save in My Documents" or "Cancel".

reluctantly, I've saved in My Documents then had to navigate through the file Explorer to try to move the file to the folder of the program that's...

This has been hampered by an application for authorization to the administrator to continue but finally managed to put the file where I wanted it to go.

    It's security gone mad!

Sorry for the inconvenience.  It is an expected behavior, as you say, it became crazy about security.  If you can inject files in there, cannot therefore nothing that runs with your credentials.  As plugins and web browsers work with your credentials, a compromised Web site could inject files into files of program without your knowledge.  This security prevents your system being affected by malicious software.

Most users have very rarely to save a file in this location.  In fact, more than 99.2% of the users would never do that based on Windows 7 telemetry data.

This small gene on the rare occasion that you could do that will keep your system secure.  However, you are the administrator, and if you want, you are free to remove this security, if you choose.

  • Why Illustrator CS4 will not allow the effects of fonts?

    Hello world!

I am a very new Designer self-taught Illustrator, using the forums and articles online. I find that sometimes I can not apply 'Effects' for my fonts. In this case, I use the police Charlegmane, and when I highlight the text I want to apply an effect to, the options are that all out - shaded each of them. This happens with every text box on the project. Symbols, on the other hand, to apply effects. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Angela

As already mentioned, the effects are applied by object, not by character. You must select the text object in its entirety with the move / select the tool. If you need to apply different effects to different characters / lines of text, the text must be split or converted to outlines, giving you separate objects to work with.
