Why Windows7 takes a long time to stop?

It is not a hardware problem.

I have the msconfig > startup/disabled services things I can.
I just went through and uninstalled all only possible program that seems dangerous or that I never use.
It takes about 5 minutes to go beyond "Shutting Down... »
Ubuntu, which is installed on the same computer is operating normally. I think that the problem is related to a program that blocks the closing windows until he did what he should do. I think as its sql server (uninstalled all sql server stuff as I could get away with thinking).
I ran Microsoft Security Essentials full scan.
I'm really not one to install without thinking about it or download it from a place that I don't trust.
I looked in the observer of events, but not really sure how to find the problem there. It's not like there is a single newspaper and then 5 minutes later another newspaper there. There is a constant flow of newspapers, I can say.
I'm a developer, so I express vs and as I said sql server installed. I went to apache once and had to turn off tips of sql server and this computer has never forgiven me.
This gets really annoying to wait half an hour to restart.

Hi Warrior coding,.

1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2. have you updated any drivers, including the chipset?
3. were there any changes made to the computer before the question?

  • Windows 7 takes a long time to stop

I installed a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit on one of my laptops about three months back. The laptop was brand new at the time. Everything went really smooth. But for the last week I am facing a problem, Windows takes an exceptionally long time to close. Whenever I try to close my laptop, the screen where it says that Windows is waiting for a program to stop with the option 'Force Shut Down'. The weird part is the place where it is supposed to show the program for which Windows expects in the end is empty. Absolutely no program is shown at any time. Even if I chose force closed, written with "Shut Down" screen comes up and the wheel will turn away and it takes about a minute to close. Sometimes, it takes as much as 5 to 8 minutes to stop. Previously he was not even a full 10 seconds to close.

My laptop is not obstructed by installed apps. Apps only I use is Eclipse, Android, Google Chrome, web browser emulator, VirtualBox to run a copy of Ubuntu and FlashGet to download from the internet.

All the drivers are installed correctly, as they ran all very well for the last three months. I have a paid Avast Anti-virus installed with paid Malware-bytes. I scan my laptop computer for viruses every two days and keep up-to-date. I keep my Windows updated through Windows Update. I have run the defragmentation of disk once a month. Even after that I encountered this problem, I ran a disk defragmentation. I also run CCleaner once a week. I have not yet installed any new apps until this problem appeared. I can't find something in maybe that could lead to this problem. The boot time for my laptop is really fast and normal. It feels sharp and fast while using it all the time. But the problem is whenever I try to turn it off.

    Computer laptop specifications:

    HARD DRIVE 500 GB

You should take a look at your startup programs and decide what is really necessary and what is nothing more than useless clutter. There is nothing wrong with the startup programs, some may be really useful or even necessary for your personal needs. But keep in mind that many programs build to start when you start the computer and that most of them must not start when the computer starts, all they do is slow down your boot time and clutter of things when you're trying to solve problems, and some are downright harmful!

I mean, have you really need things like real Planner and Gadwin Print Screen running all the time? These programs will run very well, even if they are not started automatically every time that you start the computer. Go to these programs and change/disable their boot option. Some may be difficult to kill for public assistance services can be useful when you try to control startup programs. Try CodeStuff Starter, it's safe and easy to use, I think you'll like it, download it here:

    http://CodeStuff.tripod.com/products_starter.html>

Use AutoRuns to check axis start, Richard:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx>

    Use Cclenar-> tools-> start

    http://www.CCleaner.com/download/builds.aspx>

I can't tell you what to keep, startup items it is a personal preference, but pretty well all the startup items indicated by CodeStuff Starter are safe to disable, and changes are easy to reverse if you change your mind. Searches for items it shows you and decide whether or not these things are really useful or necessary. Some programs will be started at startup without your knowledge and over time, that list can expand to include useless parasites, part of good computer maintenance includes regular control of these startup items and the removal of the unnecessary.

Suggest that you first spread malware as the cause of the problem by following these steps:

    I. - delete your temporary files

Clean the system (compensation to all temp/tmp folders and included all the content offline, the tif browser, delete the cookies of compensation.)

Do a disk cleanup. Click the Start button. in the search box, type disk cleanupand then in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup. Better and easier to use - ccleaner.

Download the basic version (slim) via

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner/builds>

The basic version (slim) does not contain the toolbar disgusted

DO NOT USE ANY cleaning of the advanced options. DO NOT TOUCH THE REGISTRY OR TOOLS. At least not for now.

    Reset

II. - have your system scanned as a result of security/antivirus installed.

III. - download, install, update and run both of these tools to a-squared free scans:

    MalwareBytes anti-malware (MBAM)

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free>

    SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS)

    Hello Duane,

For more clarity and response, I divided it in its own thread.

After your post, it seems that Vista 32 bit takes a long time to start and a very long time to stop.

What are the specifications of material of this machine?

We might want to try a clean boot and see how that affects the issue.

  • Visual Studio 2008 Pro takes a long time to start after the installation of measurement Studio 2009

After installing Measurement Studio 2009, I noticed that it takes a long time (30-60 seconds) to open a Visual Studio project.

I do not have an internet connection on my development computer and suspect he might be waiting on some kind of operation of the network to time out.  I had problems with Visual Studio in the past as well and had to work around them by adding entries to my hosts file (to redirect some addresses of Microsoft to the local IP address - this causes network operations to expire immediately).

Just curious if anyone has encountered this kind of slow startup time and found a solution.

    Thank you!

I found an article referring to a question similar to MS 8.1.  I don't know if the problem has simply not been corrected or why I am still having this problem.  Workaround "per computer" listed in the article solved my problem.

  • dynamic table takes very long time to compile

    Hello

in a small program, I need to create a wide range:

    FIXED-SIZE ARRAY:
    [27] Char hash [26] [999] [99] [16];

But not in all cases, the last item in the hash table has a value (string
15 bytes), so I want to create a dynamic array to save memory.

    TABLE SIZE DYNAMICS:
    char * hashtable [27] [26] [999] [99];
    .......
    If (strlen (hash_string)) hashtable [a] [b] [c] [d] = malloc (sizeof (char) *)
    (strlen (hash_string) + 1)) ;

    .......

    In debug mode:

If I compile the program with the array of fixed size, all working properly and
    the program runs immediately

If I compile the same program with the table dynamically (and using malloc)
It really takes time to compile. It seems that the program freezes,
But if I wait quite a long time (several minutes), the program runs

    I am using CVI 2009

Any ideas why it takes so long if I use dynamic memory?

    Thanks in advance,

    Norbert Rieper
    Bremerhaven

When CVI compiles the file in a configuration of debugging with debugging level value Standard or extended, then we allocate data protection user to track the State of each pointer in the table. For each of the pointer values 69 million that we allocate data to add to your executable file to control execution. These allowances are initially the apparent blow.

There are several ways to prevent CVI to distribute all of these additional data.

    (1) change the level of debugging "no run-time checking.

    (2) change the base type of the array of ' char *' to 'size_t '. You must also add a cast to all the references to the elements of the array.

    (3) select it's Enable. Obj option' option for the file that contains the definition of the table. This turns off debugging for this .c file.

3 (b) move the declaration of the array to its own .c file and the option "Enable.obj" what .c file instead of the .c file that contains all the source data that uses the table.

Although you need only 70 MB for dynamically allocated strings, you must always 265 MB to store the array of pointers to 69 million.

    1. only speculation. You compare a XP with Vista.

    2. regarding why it took so long:
Same reason why it would take more time to download an e-mail message that has a LARGE attachment size.
Your total size of the file of a "pictures" could be actually large.
You can resize the photos before clicking on join. It can help.

  • My DLNA compatible TV takes a long time to detect the DLNA server on Windows 7 computer laptop via wifi

I have a Panasonic plasma tv and a laptop running Windows 7 x 64.  I had no problem with the TV detect my laptop and watch movies via the DLNA server in wifi, aside from the videos stopping frequently, loss of the connection and reconnect.  Thinking it was a problem with my router, I contacted the manufacturer of the router and received a replacement of the same router.

Apart from switching on the router, nothing has changed.  However, when I try to go to the DLNA function on the TV, it will appear the message "DLNA server is not found.
