• What is wifi ASUS?

  Setting up my new MacBook Pro. For many years, for internet, I depended on my computer Internet hotspot for my phone data. At some point, I hit ASUS instead of my phone in wifi computer section, and it is connected. (Of course, my phone was already transmitting a signal from hotspot). Since then, I have connected to the internet on the computer via ASUS without the phone being turned on hotspot and wifi.   I understand that you have renamed your wifes computer and now when you try to scan to the computer to the printer displays the old computer name and the new. You may need to restart the computer and the printer to erase the old name of the computer display.

  I had a similar on my wifes computer problem after an ifestation Trojan horse got into his system.

  I am running xp home with service pack 3.

  I put end to the largest part of the instance of mshta.exe in Task Manager so that the repressive would work quite well to fix.

  I did a search for the mshta. * which yealded multiple copies, some with version behind numbers. I deleted all but one of:

  c:\windows\system32\mshta.exe

  c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\mshta.exe

  The in the folder system32 was 45 k and the one in the service pack files was 29 k I went in the Service Pack folder and copied mshta.exe.

  Then I put end to all instances of mshta.exe in the Task Manager.

  Then I went in the system32 folder and pasted the file by replacing the infected file. So far, everything is ok. If I have problems I have reload service pack 3.

  I suggest that you try to run the System File Checker and see if it finds all of the corrupted system files.

  Thunderbird worked fine yesterday but when trying to send a message this morning it says it cannot connect to the smtp server and put my password that I did - but it makes no difference.
