WiFi from HP: Internet connection problem

I started a hotspot through HP Wireless Hotspot (Version 1.0.19.1) software in my laptop HP Probook s 4540 to share my internet connection with my portable Sony Xperia L high speed. I can connect to the network, but I share my internet connection RCA. When I tried my internet connection in my laptop, it works fine. But through the mobile phone is not connect to internet via wifi hotspot. Here are the screenshots of the n6cessoires settings I configured. I have no idea on "Change adapter settings" in Windows.

Please help me.

(1) I have already connected to wired broadband (Hutch).

(2) I've chosen my broadband connection to share.

(3) I started the hotspot. But it says that my broadband connection is disconnected. But I can connect to the internet using my laptop.

(4) network and sharing both Center screenshot:

Thank you!

  • Strange internet connectivity problem

    Hello!

I'm having a connectivity problem I have never met before. I use a wireless router from Apple with internet cable.

Yesterday, my computer would be is no longer in contact with my router wi - fi. I get a message that the network could not be attached (I ran the Diagnostics wireless, but it's a whole lot of sense to me empty files). However, I also have a Roku, and which IS connected to the WiFi without problem. I completely stopped and restarted the computer, no joy. Reset the modem and the router, no joy. Still works with Roku, not with the computer. But the weird part is, I have Optimum Online, which allows subscribers to log-in to its hotspots, and it worked! I am connected Optimum wi - fi network on my computer right now.

So I don't know where is the problem! It is not the router, because this is related work with Roku and is not the computer, because it is connected and working with the Optimum hotspot. What gives?

    Try this!

Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > network

Select a Wi - Fi connection in the sidebar and then click on the button "Advanced...". "in the lower right corner of the screen

In the list of preferred networks, delete the name of your Wi - Fi network

Click on the "OK" button to save that change and then 'apply' in the network preferences window.

Now, go to the Applications folder > utilities > Keychain Access

Make sure that "Login" keychain is selected and "All items" in the category is selected in the sidebar

Use the search field to find items that Keychain with the name of your Wi - Fi network and remove

    Quit Keychain Access

Now try and access your Wi - Fi network

  • Internet connection problem, error: status WAN down.

Hello. We have a Windows 7 and a Motorola 2247-N8 wireless modem/router. Recently, our internet connection has dropped. I was able to reboot the router, but on the main login page, it says "Status WAN" is declining and the PPP username and password are empty. These two things are related? Can I do to solve this problem? Thank you.

Thanks for the information.  Your observation of the Westell modem/router is in line with what your ISP says you: your modem is assigned an IP address by a DHCP server at your ISP.

Your two pieces of equipment have in fact several parties.   Both of them have modems, which is the interface between you and your ISP.  Both of them have routers.  A router is required between the two networks; in your case, this is the Internet on one side and your local area network (LAN) on the other side.  Unit integrated Motorola also a wireless access point.

You only need one of each part: a modem, a router, and a wireless access point.

Normally, you should be able to use the Motorola device and renounce the Westell unit.  However, the unit modem Motorola seems to have a problem to connect to your ISP.  According to the User Guide, that I found for him, this unit of Motorola doesn't seem to be able to connect to the type of system used by your ISP.

You can use parts of two devices: the modem and router Westell unit and wireless point from the Motorola unit.

I'm going to assume that this is the User Guide for the your Motorola device--> http://www.arrisi.com/modems/datasheet/2247-n8/2247_user_manual.pdf

Connect an Ethernet cable between your computer and one of 4 yellow Ethernet ports on the unit of Motorola.  Open a web browser and type http://192.168.1.254 in the address bar and press enter (see page 13 operating Guide).  You may or may not assign a password for the configuration utility (you should end this) as described in step 4.  Skip steps 5 to 7.

Click the "Configure" (page 16), then click on "DHCP server".  Uncheck the box "Enable DHCP server", and then click "apply changes".  You want to disable the DHCP server in the Motorola unit because you plan to use the DHCP server in the Westell unit.

If you already haven't, go back to the configuration menu and click 'Wireless' and set "of basic wireless settings" (p. 21), you want wireless to be activated, you want the 'Standard' to be compatible with your laptop and other wireless devices (B/G/N is the most flexible; use G or N-only if you know that all your wireless devices use the same wireless standard).  I recommend uncheck Wireless Protected Setup.  "Channel" should be 1, 6 or 11 (you may or may not need to change the channel; in general, this is necessary if you live in an area where there are many nearby wireless networks, as a residential building).

In the "Wireless security" (p. 23) article Choose WPA2 if all your wireless devices support this standard. Otherwise, use WPA.  Don't use WEP or anything.  Do not 'hide the SSID' or "Block Wireless Bridging."  If you wish, enter a new name SSID (p. 24). If you do this, do not use your name or address in the SSID name.

Make sure you click on "Apply changes" once you make a configuration change.

At this point, you can exit the utility of configuration of the Motorola.

Disconnect all connected to DSL entered the Motorola phone.

Plug the phone cable between your wall socket and the entrance of LILY on the Westell unit.

Connect an Ethernet cable between the port of 'Data' at the back of the Westell unit and one of the yellow Ethernet ports on the unit of Motorola.

At this point, you should be able to access the Internet using any device connected by wifi to the Motorola unit or (b) any device connected to one of the 3 Ethernet ports yellow on the unit from Motorola which is not used to connect to the Westell unit.

    Last words:

If you created a password to access the device configuration utility (and you should), write it down on a sheet of paper and the paper to the tape drive.

The IP address, you need to use in order to access the configuration of the Westell unit unit is 192.168.1.1.  Write this on the same sheet of adhesive paper such as password and the Westell Westell unit.

The IP address, you need to use in order to access the Motorola unit configuration utility is 192.168.1.254.  Write this down on the same sheet of paper as the Motorola password and stick it to the Motorola unit.

The DHCP server in the Westell unit by default local IP addresses assignment between 192.168.1.15 and 192.168.1.47.  This should be more than enough.  You can check the IP address local to any computer by opening a command prompt window and typing in Windows

    ipconfig/all (press on enter)

This will show you the IP addresses assigned to all NICs (wired and wireless).  You need only be concerned with IPv4 (not IPv6) addresses.

Note that if you open a web browser and go to a site such as http://www.whatismyip.com/ , you will be able to see the IP address public attributed to your Westell modem by your ISP's DHCP server.  In this case, "public" means that all users can see at this address.  However, router Westell "cache" local to your devices IP addresses so they are not visible on the Internet.

  • Two wifi routers EA6200 having connection problems.

I had a single wifi router configuration EA6200 and it was working fine but it has not reached the corner of my house. I decided to buy a second EA6200 in an attempt to expand coverage wifi and nothing else that problems have had since then. I tried several configurations and there are always questions where wifi is either very slow or cut all together. I tried to configure the routers by using the options listed in the manual. We'll call it the router connected directly to the modem ROUTER1 and ROUTER2 upstairs router.

I connect both routers via a power adapter line I used for a while since I rent and can't pass the cables through the walls. I have one of the LAN ports on ROUTER1 connected to port WAN on ROUTER2 and ROUTER2 clipping value. I tried with ROUTER2 get his address IP of ROUTER1 automatically and I also tried to set a static IP address on ROUTER2, but I always had connection problems. I also tried one of the LAN ports on ROUTER1 connecting to one of the LAN on ROUTER2 ports. I put a static IP address on ROUTER2 and disabled DHCP. For both configurations, I tried to have the same SSID and password for both routers so that I can roam and connect automatically to the strongest signal and at first I put the automatic channel selection. I still had problems connecting so I tried to change the SSID of the router and change the SSID for the bands of 2.4 and 5 GHz and I tried to adjust the channels myself no conflicting channels and I still have problems.

Again, the problems I encounter are failure intermittent wifi where it disconnected completely from the wifi but will reconnect then slow connection speeds not long after but also intermittent. Also, I have several chromecast dongles on the TVs in my house and they also periodically lose the connection to the network and have a lot of buffering issues. These problems disappear with a single connected router. I also tried to reset both routers and disconnect and plug my modem at the factory.

All the ideas, because I don't see anything else to try?

    Bilz says:

If I understand you correctly I tried already. I connected the LAN to LAN and used the static IP you listed for the second router. I put the SSID for the 5 GHz band were the same for both routers and used a different SSID for 2.4 GHz bands, but it's still the same on both routers. I used the Wifi Analyzer app to determine the best channels for my router and I put them all channels different worms. I don't know if I used specifically 1, 6 or 11, however. It would make a difference? For example if I used chanells 4 and 6 for 2.4 GHz bands, do you think that this would have caused some of my questions?

Not quite. All SSIDs 4 must be different. You can be the cause of the camera jump back using the same ssid. So it could be xxxxx_24p and xxxxx_24s and even for the 5 GHz. xxxxx_5p and xxxxx_5s

  • WRT160Nv2 - Internet connection problem

Linksys EasyLink Advisor shows no Internet connection with my (red) cable modem.  Not true I have all my Internet functions.  However, he dropped my connection to my laptop wireless.  Desktop PC also passes through the router.  Green connection between the router and the desktop PC.

Updated firmware updated to 2.0.03.007, but this has not changed anything.  Tried to reinstall and reconfigure before firmware update.  Got the network wireless for a few minutes with the laptop, but then he disappeared again.

Summary - have the Internet connection (via the router to desktop PC) but no WiFi (for laptop) functionality.

Are you able to go online to your computers, you have no need to worry the LELA software. its better to uninstall the LELA software from your computer.

As you have already updated the firmware on your router, you must reset your router and reconfigure all the settings back on your router from scratch.

Your wireless computer is concerned you should check the settings of your router. Your username from desktop PC to your router and Wireless tab configuration page, change the settings as shown below.

    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel to 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...

Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...

Change the mode of WPA wireless security, encryption, select TKIP. Password input your desired WPA key. For example, MySecretKey, this will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and do not forget the key.

  • EA4500 - a wireless device of many with internet connectivity problem

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can comment on a subject that I have with a (a) wireless on my home network devices.  The problem is that a Dell laptop knows slow or no internet connectivity using wireless at all.  Sometimes 1-2 minutes to load one page, other times the message 'not able to display the Web page' dreaded.  That's using Ethernet.  I have another laptop (brand/model exact even) and it has no problem.  I also have a Macbook Pro and other IOS from Apple (iPod/iPad) devices which are very good.  Several connected Ethernet devices are very good as well.  The laptop in question had no problem with my previoius Linksys devices, which are a BEFSR41/WAP55AG and a WRT-54GS v2.  This laptop was the first day or two on the EA4500, but something happened that causes this problem.  I had to add the WAP55AG on my network so my son is happy again, but my plan was to dismantle the other devices.  Suggestions regarding what I can do to fix this are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I tired who, but it did not work.  I then called Dell and they found that the wireless adapter on battery power has been set to maximum power saving.  Changed for maximum Performance and it's been very well.  Fortunately there is nothing wrong with the router.  Thanks again for the suggestion.

  • Internet connection problems; PC says not connected to the internet

Despite the fact that I am connected to the internet through a broadband network, that the pc still shows that I am not connected to any network - why this?

If you could be more descriptive, it would be useful.  I'll take a good guess on what you ask on...

Most of the time, according to me, you can describe what your computer is able to find a wireless router but the router doesn't send an IP (its normal function).  He would say connected, but no internet connection.

    This is usually:

    1. your Internet service provider is down or your connection to it is broken.  If this is the case there is nothing you can do about it.  Call your service provider.

2 your computer network security key does not match the one in the router.

    Next:

1 reset the modem & router.  Follow these instructions precisely: http://canadiantech.info/?page_id=136

    2. If that does not resolve the problem, you must remove this network from your list of networks to manage Windows 7.  Then try to connect again using the network key, you know.

    3. If this does not work, you will need to do a factory reset on the router and re - install the router according to the router set up instructions.

    4. If after all the above does not correct the problem, you must replace your router.

  • No Internet connection problem

I can connect to my wireless router but I can't connect to internet with my Dell Ispiron 2320 PC, operating system Windows 7.  What could be the problem in the light of the following?

    1. interruption of the connection abrubtely
    2. wireless connection shows "Connected" and the signal strength shows "Excellent."
    3. I cannot successfully connect to the network / internet with my lap top PC and other devices i.
    4. connect the device directly (Ethernet cable) modem for PC does not improve the condition, still no internet connectivity.
    5. I can ping modem and receive IP address.
    Thank you
