WiFi intermittent problem. Win 10 think it is connected when there is no Internet.

WiFi intermittent problem.  I have a 2 month old Dell Inspiron 15 5559 with dual band Wireless AC 3160 adapter Intel.  I connect via WiFi, start Pandora with Chrome and everything works very well for a few hours.  I monitor the status of the WiFi and noticed that when the speedometer drops to simple numbers temporarily, then resumed at 50 Mbps or more a second or two later, my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge) no longer work even if icons indicate "connected, secure" and LAN activity continues.  Pandora and all other browser activities cease until I have disconnect and reconnect.  The router, I had this problem with that is a TP-Link wireless-N that works perfectly with other computers, but I purchased & installed a D604 of D-Link router wireless AC to see if this can solve the problem.  It has exactly the same problem on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.  Device Manager displays an Intel driver version 18.11.0.8 dated dated 22/06/2015 apparently normal and no! or? any where in the list of devices.

So the obvious conclusion is that when the power of the signal is temporarily less than 10 Mbps for a second or two, then returns to the top 10 Windows thinks there is a good WiFi connection when it is not.  Disconnect and reconnect always solve the problem, but it's an obvious bug, and it's a pain.

Hello

I'm glad that you finally got this driver to install.  Microsoft has done a lot with Windows 10 trying to reduce the energy consumption on laptops.   In some ways, that has caused some problems with the wireless, making cards more susceptible to interference.   I hope that this driver will clear up many of the conflicts and problems that you see.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Connectivity Wifi Envy100 problem

I have set up my envy 110 printer problems after moving from the United States to the Australia.

It worked very well in the United States. I have connectied with the USB and works fine.

Then I used the configuration utility to convert a Wifi device, but the old address will be not updated to the new network.

The printer indicates that his current address is 192.168.1.11.  All the devices on my home Wifi are 192.168.0.xxx.

The printer says it connects to the network and all right and he gets a new address, but then it has the same old address of 1.11.  I can not connect when there was the adresse.1.11. The installation utility only allows to ask the router for an address, but it always comes back with 1.11.

I tried to put the mac address into the router with an address static de.0.47 but the ptr does not take into account.  While the printer says that it is connected to my network fine, the router can not see the printer.

I would like to set manually the IP address but does not appear to have a utility that will allow me to set the IP address manually.

Any suggestions?  IP addresses might be the opposite in the southern hemisphere.

    Hello again,

I was looking through the tools of printers and came across a feature for the parameters of intellectual property.  Go in there, you can select manual or automatic.  He was set to manual.  I changed it to automatic and now everything is fine.  He is immediately connected to the router and received a new IP de.0.12.  It's really weird because I had never played with this setting.

It was hard to find because the scroll on the touch screen feature is very difficult to use.  He always goes in the point instead of scrolling.  I didn't know that there are more options if scroll you down.

    The printer now works correctly.

    Thanks for your help.

  • iMac loses the internet connection when I turn off wifi

Any help appreciated! I'm not very computer savy! Can my grandson tell me (how) on some things.

I lose the internet connection when wifi is disabled. It will happen when using any browser, Firefox-Safari-Google Chrome.

Desktop computer is connected to the modem.

    Processor name: Intel Core i7

    Processor speed: 3.4 GHz

You can use an ethernet cable between the modem (= the internet connector) and the iMac.

WiFi is like an invisible computer thread worms (among others) the modem. When you switch WiFi off, your computer cannot reach the modem and so there is no internet on your computer.

  • Need help creating automatic setup of WiFi for XP Win 7, etc... Get errors on XP

I have 100s of Win 7 and Win XP computers and I need a way to automatically configure WiFi. Some will be made for students and others for personnel etc. I did hours of research on this mega and using a Win 7 PC to create export to a USB key that is susposed to work on all versions of XP upwards. But, of course, it isn't. This works for Windows 7 and Vista, but not for XP.

    Here's what I did...

1 a tried using the XP "Wireless Network Setup Wizard" to my XP PC. But it is defective and not allow you to create an installation WITHOUT any encryption, of course it is not acceptable as our WiFi does not use it. We use a system of Access Point Aruba which forces authentication VIA AD/connection on the first attempt to navigate the web. No encryption AT ALL as much as the WiFi client installation is concerned. I also did a profile exactly as I want only it except that I put in bogus WEP settings so it creates the SMRTNTKY with the WSETTING file. WFC file in it and then edited the. WFC to remove file but then it wouldn't work which is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

2 went to a Win 7 PC as it does from there is supposed to work on Vista and XP too and had no problem using the option 'Copy this network on a USB flash drive profile' and it works perfectly for Win 7 and Vista, but - error on XP with the following message...

The wizard found no information needed to set up a network, or the information was not usable. Try to rerun the wizard to your original computer.

After reviewing the files generated between the XP method to export a WiFi profile to a USB key and how to Win 7 well, I found the following differences, all related to security settings. Of course, it's a bug or a design defect and a BIG problem for the IT Pro.

Here's what my two WSETTING. Resemble WFC files.

    For XP I have:

    For Win 7 I have:

            0
            0

There seems to be ONLY two lines which differ between the two files and are as follows...

    For XP:

    WEP
            12345

    For Win 7:

    None

As you can see that the difference is in the security settings that I don't use. (This is a choice made by the powers above me and I have to work with that. MS should keep in mind at ANY moment the IT pro should have the last say on optional parameters is NOT MS)

It seems that Microsoft, when they created this tool never intended be used by computer professionals as they force the settings for the IT Pro to decide at ANY TIME, not Ms.  IE to use WEP/WPA etc, or NONE.

So am I missing something? How do I create an automated way I can run thousands of times without error on XP, Vista or Win 7 to configure profiles WiFi which will have NO apparent safety, but who actually do?

I would VIA reg setting if I knew where to find all the reg settings to do, but the hours of Googleing gave this info. Everything seems to point to the network VIA USB method profile, which would be perfect if it worked on XP. If there was a simple file I could copy from a master system of its many clones then it works. I could wrap it in one. BAT file or use INNO Script to create a file of configuration etc. Many ways I could do if I could find any files, settings, etc., I would need control.

It shouldn't be rocket science. I've seen where Microsoft has said they recognize the need for professionals like me to be able to automate this process for any tech user, but then the tools thay do aren't for the professionals that they take away the option of PROFESSIONAL (on-site tech who knows the most, is NOT MS) to decide, using their knowledge intament businesses must make choices about the use or non-use of WEP etc (it's a theme common in MS assistants, just look at the hack job SYSPrep is based by default on the local Administrator profile profile, a MAJOR mistake and a security risk, rendering it useless in a corporate environment where the local Admin profile is preconfigured with options parameters, links, etc. to the things a pro IT does not that the general user to see or to do but they need on the local admin ONLY)

Thanks for any help you can give.

None of our laptops Win 8 appear to be able to connect to a wifi hotspot (internet sharing enabled, and apart from the wifi on the handset) provided by our Win mobile (Nokia Lumia 635) 8.1, there seems to be a connection between the phone and the laptop, but it is presented as 'Limited' (no internet connection).

  • intermittent problems / macbook air 2015 250 GB/8 G RAM / Yosemite 10.11.5

    Hello world

I have intermittent starting problems. Technician at the shop said that it is important to reproduce the problem so that they can provide recommendations for repair. This mac is still under warranty and if I want to do the repair, it must be respected, that is me being left without a computer for a few weeks. I tried several steps to solve and I'm not sure if it has been set of troubleshooting. Please see below for details.

13 July: tried to turn heard chimes, seen... progress bar on the mac, the computer stops

    • -restart the mac, called logo appears and it stops.
    • -J' tried reset SMC, it was answered, rebooted the mac, apple logo appears and it stops.
    • -WAITED 15 minutes, on the mac, it was completely start-up, but it stops after 10 minutes.

I went to the Apple repair center, controlling material by staff and it happened, reset the ESCM and LANDAU. For some reason, we couldn't reproduce the problem. It has worked well.

August 4: turn on the mac, punt managed could connect po... then he froze.

    • -made the hard reset, it fully charged, but it froze when I tried to log in
    • -did the reset once again, he lit. Clicking on my avatar, can you stop
    • – on return, he showed dashes flashing on the left side of the screen

    • -a tried to turn it back on, it showed the folder flashing with an exclamation mark.
    • -Restart the mac twice, but it showed the same thing.
    • -For access to the I tried the recovery disk, but it was inaccessible.

I went to the apple repair center, he showed the foder flashing with an exclamation mark. They tried to test the material (they have connected a cable to test), but the computer has failed. The technician said it's dead. I went home and did not want to send my mac for repair coz I was on a business trip.

August 5 - tried to turn back, until I did the reset SMC and he responded.

    • -He was able to start successfully, and he was able to log in. 15 minutes later, he stopped.
    • -Fact reset the PRAM and resetting the SMC
    • -in turn, and it has functioned and somehow solved the problem.

Now August 6, it still works very well, I ran the diagnostic Apple and it didn't find any hardware failure or display errors.

I don't know what to do. My mac is under warranty, but I couldn't replicate the problem and I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software problem. The technician at the apple Center said that it is better to reproduce the problem and observe the mac. I can't afford to be left without my cell phone. t

I installed the most recent application is the Vmware fusion (24 May), which is something I rarely use.

Hi Dabmeister, intermittent problems are difficult to diagnose.

As a first step, I suggest to use the Combo Update 10.11.6 to replace any system software that is corrupt.

    https://support.Apple.com/downloads/MacOS

The Combo update is a complete installation, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update, so you have to overwrite all files are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have previously applied. All your data and settings must be kept, but that said, you should always have a backup.

  • Some applications (Soundcloud, YouTube, Tumblr and Instagram) are not to say that I have a wifi connection when I clearly one. Why is this and how do I solve this problem?

As I said, some applications are not I have an Internet connection when I do really. YouTube and Instagram both of my loading workflow error messages, Tumblr went to appear in messages on my dashboard at least a week to not show anything on my dashboard and Soundcloud would not load completely. I tried to reset all my default network connections and had to redownload all apps - but who does more, and now I'm stuck being connected on all of them (with the exception of YouTube, which is back to square one (I think)). We are dealing with issues with low storage because of the cloud is all messed up, so maybe she's the one, but I'm not sure. Anyone could try to guide me through fixing this? Thank you

    Hey there dubstepspacecatjr,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! From the sound of things, you experience problems connecting to the internet in specific applications on your iPod touch, such as YouTube and Instagram. You also tried to reset the network settings and reinstall applications, which are key steps in troubleshooting. I can certainly understand the importance of being able to access the internet in order to get most of these applications. I'll be happy to take a look at it with you.

The first place wherever I would like to first of all is the use of this article:

If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connects to a Wi - Fi network

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204051

If you haven't already done so, good insulation should see if this connection within these apps problem persists when you use cellular data. In addition, check that you are able to browse and connect to Safari on your iPod.

In addition, you do not want to look at the backup and restore of your iPod as a new device. From there, you can reinstall the applications and see if the same thing happens. This will help to rule out existing issues/corruption of software.

The following items have the steps on how to create a backup in progress, but also to restore your device to factory settings:

How to back up your device using iCloud or iTunes

  • WiFi driver problem

I have a laptop Y50 in a few days and I noticed that when I install the drivers for the wifi from the cd provided with the computer WiFi works well but with maximum 72 Mbit connection. When I choose windows to search for drivers more recent it installs latest, the connection goes to 150 Mbps, which is the maximum of my router but with limited connectivity and does not work. I chose to roll back the driver, wifi still works well, but back to 72 Mbps. I tried the drivers from the support section Lenovo that the same problem occurs. I tried the drivers of Intel support page but with the same results. Everything works fine with 72 Mbit connection I get with the old drivers, but I'd really like to do repair and use the full potential of your PC.

I managed to figure out what was the problem after all, and he was not with the drivers. I use a router Tp-link model 740N stretching on 2.4 Ghz frequency. When I install the latest drivers for the card wi - fi adapter default setting is set to work on 2.4 5.4 Ghz mode or auto. This setting prevents the laptop to connect successfully with the router. I changed it to prefer the 2.4 Ghz band on which my router transmits and the wi - fi on the laptop got working with the maximum 150 Mbps connection between the laptop and the router. So far, works very well.
