  • Satellite L45-s7423 quite dead

    I have a toshiba satellite L45-s7423.

I'll start by saying from the outset that I don't really know much about computers.

I tried to plug my headphones on the laptop, but it was dark in the room so I me rummaging around trying to find with the end of the cord.

I found up to shoving the end into the usb slot and the latpot stops immediately. It no longer works.
Not anything clear battery. Quite dead.

    I fried the laptop?
And if I did there is something I can do to fix this?

It is really important that I get my work on this computer, as I am a senior in high school, summerschooled, and all work for my online courses is on this laptop.

Really, I have no idea when it comes to computers, so go easy on me.

    Hello

The data stored on the HARD disk are not the problem. Problem is how to get your laptop to work.
To be honest after reading your statement where you wrote that you are not familiar with computers I n t believe you can do something.

Believe me the best thing you can do is to ask for professional help. Contact the nearest authorized maintainer to check your laptop. They can tell if something is damaged it and how to fix it.

If you need to address or numbers phone ASP in your country, visit Toshiba support under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com page > support & downloads > find an ASP.

  • The screen is blank and Satellite L45-S7423 don't start

I bought a notebook L45-S7423 Toshiba in January 08 and had no problems with it what so ever, until I tried to connect it to my TV Toshiba 37 ".
When I did so the tv display would start the laptop and when he got to the display of the desktop, wallpaper etc... It was only in black, so I went into the BIOS setup and choose one of the options (I can't remember which) to try to get a factory reset think that the laptop was not recognizing TV, then I don't know what happened.

When I turn the power on the screen is black and nothing happens, the CD/DVD drive lights and the power button lights up but monitor lights are dead, the hard drive light is also dead. The battery is charged (at least his indicator is green)
I tried to put the recovery disk in which I received with it but can not get something to happen, it just seems to be sitting dormant.

Is - this repairable or it of over or what can I do with that could sort.

Can someone help me get my new computer running again?

    Hello

Reading your post I thought that you simply switched the standard for external display view... and so you are not able to see anything on the screen of laptop computers... but to be honest, it's very strange because you should see the home Toshiba on the internal display screen and then the display should move to the external monitor or TV...

So finally, I think that it is a hardware problem... But it is really not easy to say what exactly is the problem... Maybe it's a misfortune and a dieda motherboard? ¦

If you are not able to boot from the recovery CD and the laptop does not answer, then you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

    Good bye

  • Y430 WOL does NOT illuminate any circumstances. WiFi is not responding

My Y430 within 4 months. I have not much used outside my vacation. After using the Lenovo energy management utility, the Y430 was accidentally placed on the mode"super energy saving '.» This disabled my wireless adapter and I was not able to use it since. 'Radio' wireless power running. I ran the diagnostic tool from Intel for it to blame the 'radio' which is actually the external wifi switch. The wifi switch is no longer able to do anything. The light is no longer on at any time. I tried to do a restore using my system disks... He failed. I was left without an operating system. Currently I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit on it. All drivers have been updated. The internal card is an Intel 5100 series... Windows claims that it is up-to-date. I tried several restarts, reinstalling the driver, the internal card to the secondary location and put it back in the form of #2 card (which failed), and I also tried all the internal switches to turn on the wifi card. All have failed. I didn't not intend to slightly different restoration with a BONE, but the restore disc had already stripped it before it failed. In any case, I hope not to do GROUND because I have to leave for school in less than 2 weeks. I don't really have time for a RMA number and I've beaten my brain to try and fix it. Thanks in advance for any help.

I just wanted to test your problem on my Y550, I fell into it. But I found the answer too... Change your profile to power of sleep or max perf. Goto Device Manager and activate 2 audio devices which shows low, as well as this activation Broadcomm wireless adapter too. Restart and make Fn + F5 and turn on the wireless radio. It's her!

  • Problem WiFi Switch on my Satellite A100

If I turn on my Satellite A100-999 with the Wi - Fi switch to 'on' position is UNABLE to connect to an available WLAN. But if I turn the switch off and then on again, works normally. If I'm going on my first pc and on the Welcome screen I turn on the Wi - Fi switch, it works ok, either.
I know that other peoples always have the switch 'on' and the system when connect detect a WLAN.

I need help to fix this problem
Thank you and receive apologies for my bad English.
    Diego

Is this a serious question for you?

I don't know why the WLan doesn't automatically connect after that the laptop was turned on but eventually it s m for only the settings of the software.

My laptop supports Intel WiFi card and so I can connect to the WLan using the Intel ProSet utility or the own XP settings.
The Intel ProSet utility is a client application of WLan and it configures the WLan settings. Here, I chose my favorite Wireless Lan and together the settings always connect automatically to this key Wlan if available (or something like that) and it works fine

I put t say you must use the Intel ProSet utility, but maybe you should test different options and different configuration settings.

Anyway, as mentioned above, I put t think that it s really a serious problem and I could live with them.

  • Re: Key FN + F8 to activate the wifi does not work - Satellite L505D

    Hello.

I have a problem with the wifi. I can't turn on the wifi with the Fn + F8 key. I just install Win 7 64 bit.
I read a lot of topic as mine but idon't know what the problem is.

    My laptop is Satellite L505D.

I need help please... Thank you very much.

    Hello

Perform another task FN buttons work or only the FN + F8 key doesn t combination?
Usually the Support of Flash memory card utility must be installed because this tool control keys FN.
    Did you install this tool?
    Otherwise, to do this
Beside the Support Flash Card utility, you must install the VFR too.

  • Communication satellite U500 wifi switch control does not work

    Hello

I have problem after update of the operating system from Vista 64 bit to win7 64-bit. The problem is in the wireless communication switch command before notebok. When I was with win vista, it works fine, post off - wifi off and post-wifi on (without restarting). But when I updated to win7 and install all the drivers of toshiba upgrade dvd, my wifi switch works as follows:

When I turn on notebook with wifi off button - its turned off all the time and the wifi does not work and fn + F8 (shortcut key for wifi) does not work too. I have to restart the PC with wifi switch in position-the wifi works fine and fn + F8 is able to turn on and turn off the wifi. But that put the material do not react to pass and - diode LED is always on (in case when I start the pc with position control on and in the case where is when off wifi LED is not clear and switching does not work).

I've updated wifi realtek drivers but still it does not work. IAM verry sorry for my English. I was looking into Toshiba diagnostic tool and there is no modem device, but yes, wifi is perhaps problem here?

Thank you very much for the reply. Tom

    Hello

Different Satellite U500 (and other models) supports various wireless network cards, and that's why you'll find also different WLan card drivers.

Your U500 seems to be equipped with an Intel Wlan card and here you can also download the right Intel Wlan card driver for this card:

  • WiFI does not work on Satellite M105-S1021

My TECRA stopped with the BSoD (on another thread) and I had to leave my old Satellite M105 - S1021 and try and get it going again.

WiFi does not work on this laptop, even with the switch at the front, running and when I put in a USB WiFI module with an external antenna I get a very bad signal from my router wireless in the next room< 20="" feet="">

    Hello

I found the specification for this old Satellite M105 series data sheet:
    [Satellite M105-S1021 | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1372978& rpn = PSMA2U & modelFilter = M105-S1021 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = 1073768663]

Looks like the laptop was equipped with a map of Atheros 802.11 wireless network b/g.
If your internal wireless network card does not, even if you have enabled the external WLan switch, then I recommend check device manager first check that the area of Wlan Card network adapters usually map Atheros Wlan must be there if its not listed, install the Atheros Wlan driver

In addition, next to the switch hardware Wlan, you need to activate the WLan using Fn + F8

Regarding the USB dongle and a weak signal of Wlan:
Well, maybe the USB dongle aerial signal is too low on the other hand you should test connectivity using 802.11 B or 802.11 G standard only

  • Satellite A200: Bluetooth stack & Flashcard is not responding

My new A200 gives me a headache. After you receive the following message: thank you for the evaluation of battery Bluetooth Toshiba Windowsby. The evaluation period has expired. You can purchase a license for this version of Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba"I downloaded the battery Bluetooth Toshiba home page multilingual. It does not work, I still got the same message and can't use bluetooth.

The second message I always get is "that the Flashcard Toshiba not responding" so that Vista is looking for a solution, but can't find anything.

The third problem is to include a second monitor. Only once it has worked very well, but never again. I can't control the second monitor via the laptop, sometimes I can't extend it, sometimes I can but the second monitor is slow. I use a Targus docking station.

    Thank you

    Hello

This message is intended for third-party developers of Bluetooth adapters, but may appear if you use such an adapter with the Toshiba Bluetooth software 'stack' - rather than with the stack of the manufacturer of the adapter. The third-party Bluetooth adapter can operate with the battery Toshiba Bluetooth, but only for a 30 days evaluation period.

If you use a 3rd party Bluetooth adapter, get and install the battery correct Bluetooth from the manufacturer of the Bluetooth adapter.

If your laptop was already equipped with the BT card then you n t need to get the version of BT of any other battery manufacturers 3rd party.
You should be able to download it from your space to download Satellite A200 Toshiba page.

I also got a few problems with Vista's Flash cards.
Seems there's a bug in the previous version. But you worry about don t; the new version is already released on the Toshiba page!

However, it seems that you have messed the entire BONE because the switch to external monitor does not work too. Then maybe you should pick up the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD and then update the utility Vista FlashCard.

    Good luck

  • Satellite P500-1CK - WIFI does not work

    Hello

I bought a Satellite P500-1CK with Windows 7 64 bit. Cause I don't need, I replaced it with Windows 7 32 bit and now my WIFI does not work.

I tried many drivers, Toshiba drivers and Realtek drivers, old and new versions. Installed and uninstalled them again and again. But it does not work. In the Device Manager, there is no error and no question mark. The map will be displayed as a RTL 8191SE, it's true. I've identified the vendor & device ID also.
The other FN keys works like a charm, but FN + F8 does not appear. The wireless switch is active and the led is orange.

When I type "cmd" then "ipconfig/all" it will be only shown the PCI Atheros Gigabit Adapter with the IP address, but not the adapter WLAN of Realtek.

Searched Google @ and spend hours and hours, but I am at my wits end... Please help me.

    funthomas22

    Hi funthomas22,

And this doesn t work exactly?

You see a WLAN in range?
Have you looked for WLAN networks?
Can you connect to WIFI networks?

A point would be interesting: can you try the same thing with preinstalled Windows 7 64 bits instead of your own 32-bit installation?
Therefore, use the recovery disk Toshiba to restore the version of the OS preinstalled. You will have a pre-tested Toshiba Windows 7 installation where everything should work properly.

    Check this box!

  • Satellite A210 - 17l - keyboard does not respond

    Hello

I have a problem that is driving me crazy.
When I press F2 or F12 to switch on the keyboard behaves as it should.
However if trying to load a Boot CD or Usb car via the options F12, the device is recognized
but click on any other key, the cursor just sits there intermittently at me and the keyboard does not respond.
What makes strange, is that an external keyboard is recognized but the mirrors one internal.
I have the latest version of the bios update.

F2 in the bios - ok keyboard.
Start in win7 - keyboard ok.
Insert bootable back disk via F12 option-charges but no keyboard reagent.
I think a partial corrupt bios
Someone has ideas about problem or even a solution.

but click on any other key, the cursor just sits there intermittently at me and the keyboard does not respond.

And what should happen on this stage?

For me, this looks like a problem with your startup disk.
I installed OS using different disks of Microsoft or USB recovery media and all you have to do is click on most of the time on the button NEXT.

If the keyboard works in BIOS and Windows, I see no problem with the keyboard there.

  • Satellite Pro C870-1E2 - internet connection problem Proxy Server not responding

My old Toshiba computer connects to the internet via a numbered port,
yet my new Toshiba Satellite Pro C870 1E2 connects to the internet through a proxy server.

Why I ask because this morning when I started, I was unable to connect to the internet and all that appeared on the screen was the message "Proxy Server not responding."

When I tried the old computer connected instantly he had to wait a long period of time before that the "proxy" got it's act together.

    Advice please?

    > Why I ask because this morning when I started, I was unable to connect to the internet and all that appeared on the screen was the message "Proxy Server not responding."

And why you think you ve you have a problem with the Satellite laptop? I understand the original message: the Satellite acts as client.
In my eyes there is a problem with the proxy server, and this should be checked first.
Its almost impossible to tell which could affect the proxy, but as a first step, a reboot would be desirable.

    My wifi does not work on Satellite C55 - A - 14 G 8 64-bit Windows.
    How can I fix?

There is wifi on other computers, but not on this laptop.

    Hello

    You always win 8?
Microsoft has already published the Win 8.1 System.
It of recommended to update 8 Win Win 8.1 because different bugs have been fixed and new features have been added.

The 8.1 update win is free and you can download the Microsoft Store update files.
Please perform updates, such as recommended by Toshiba and essential update, the driver and tools.

I guess that after updating the WLan would work properly.
