Will be Word InDesign CC update placed documents?

Products:

MS Word 2013

InDesign CC

InCopy CC

Hello world.

I have a collection of chapters in format MS Word (.docx 2013 version) contain citations, endnotes, which includes an extensive bibliography.

I know that if I place a doc of InCopy (IC) in InDesign (ID), updates I do in both versions of the file are automatically synchronized. For this reason, I really prefer to use InCopy... but ID and IC are a little weak when it comes to notes and bibliographies.

I have recently put a Word in ID doc, updated the text in ID, saved the doc, closed the doc and then open the Word doc. The Word doc is unchanged and does not reflect the changes that I made to the placed version text in the code.

Is it possible for me to put a Word doc into ID and have it automatically update with the changes I've made to its text in ID, as what happens with the files of the IC?

Thank you

If by this you mean changes in the ID can be transferred to word, and then no..

  • Linked excel tables in InDesign CS5 update problems and keep the formatting: need help

I've been using excel to place several tables in my InDesign CS5 document which will require the update on a regular basis. The tables are already formatted in excel, so I will place in InDesign with formatting and you will usually have to reduce proportionally the tables as soon as they are in InDesign CS5. When I'll update the links, it is important the content of the tables as part of current text with larger text and I am unable to "Insert the picture content" or "shrink content proportionally." Nobody knows how to solve this problem or know of another way to link excel with formatting tables and update without having to reformat the table (i.e. to resize the image and text) every time that happens an update? Thank you!!

Can't do it, sorry. Tables only.

A scanned document is just an image; even if it contains text, it is not searchable.

Put text in a scanned image available, you will need to perform the recognition of text (OCR), which can be made with Acrobat, but not the free player.

Cards will be open any after update 9.3. Anyone else having this problem?

No, not at all. Cards work properly.

Try a forced reboot: hold down the House and on the buttons until the unit turns off. Ignore the cursor off if it appears. Once completed, if it does not start on it own, turn off power with the key On. In some cases, it also contributes to double click the Home button and close all applications before restarting.

Also, make sure card is configured to use mobile data (settings app > cell phones > cards [turn it on if it isn't already].) And that location services is enabled for it (settings app > privacy > location Services)

There seems to be a bit of a problem past, especially with older models of iPad 2. Some people have reported success after that restore their device via iTunes, for others that it has not worked and all they get is a message "bring it in an apple store.

Since it affects a lot of people, I think it's safe to say that the problem lies in the range of Apple. But I don't think it is recognized or no matter what put forward fix.

You can try to restore your device, or you may just be stuck waiting to see if a fix comes out.

  • Will there be a final update 'Roll-Up' aka, SP4 for XP?

    Hello

We all agree that there is a LOT of PC out there still on XP and it will continue to run XP for a considerable time for reasons very very good, but that all support for XP ending early April 2014 (40 days from'm) and no new update's for XP beyond then.

I wonder if anyone (Microsoft espeially) knows what will happen to the update service?

Will he continue to run so that the existing updates are stil available, or is it just turned off?

If she's going to be off Microsoft will publish a downloadable 'roll-up' of all updates since SP3 (let's call him SP4 or SP3 + for the sake of argument)?

If she won't do, what has Microsoft to tell all those who will continue to need to rebuild some XP machines (i.e. reinstall XP from scratch) because Franck and applications these systems launches DO NOT operate under 8 (now that Windows 7 has been killed as well)?

As it is, if I rebuild an XP machine (a good example is that we have executed a VERY VERY dear spectrograph, the manufacturer that no longer exists so we can run it only under XP) how do I apply all of the post SP3 updates? Upgrade the computer to a later version of windows is not an option, because it would mean throwing dozens of £K to a value of spectrograph in the tray.

Any ideas would be appreciated and meet a concrete from the mouth of the horse (Microsoft) the best of all.

    Concerning

    George

(P.S. When Windows 8 will be abandoned?)

1 Windows Update will continue to make it available before April 8, 2014 updates for XP.

    2. you make a disk image of your machine XP from Apriul 8, 2014.  You can then use this image to restore the machine should be somehow damaged.

    3. If you now have the ability to rebuild an XP machine, this means that you have a genuine XP install CD of the little variety.  You have to use that to create an integrated install CD that incorporates the sp3 and all post-sp3 updates (as of April 8, 2014).  What follows is a combination of advice from contributor frequent Xircal and me:

I suggest "slipstreaming" of your original XP installation CD with SP3 and all the patches and fixes that have been released. In this way, you don't have to keep download them again if things go pear shaped.

To integrate your XP installation media, you need the following.

    1. The original Windows XP installation CD.
    2. Blank a DVD - RW or DVD-R.
    3. nLite is a free application that integrates SP3, patches, fixes, etc.
    4. IMGBurn burning tool a free CD to create the slipstreamed XP installation CD.
    5. Service Pack 3 stand alone Installer
    6. Enough space on your hard drive to copy the installation CD Windows XP together.

nLite works by extracting the content of the SP3 installation program and their integration in the existing files that you copied from your Windows XP installation disc to a folder somewhere on your hard drive.

The nLite site contains a step by step the value of screenshots to guide you through the process of creating the installation disc reworked.

IMGBurn can burn files to a DVD - RW or DVD - r blank

You can wait until April 8, but since this will be the last Patch Tuesday, after which the support will cease.

In addition to the list of Xircal, you might consider adding a step 5a to collect post-sp3 updates.  See--> http://xdot.tk/updates.html

Otherwise, after obtaining an operational system with sp3 using your sp3 slipstreamed installation CD, you will have to visit Windows Update and download lot of material.  These updates will be available via Windows Update after April 8, 2014.

  • After a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium, how long will it take to run updates and it will take a lot of bandwidth?

updates after clean install of Vista Home premium

I plan on upgrading the hard drive on my laptop two year old, which will require a clean install of Vista Home Edition full.  I live in a remote with the satellite internet service.  I would like to know in advance what will happen after the installation with the updates of the program.  I will ask you to install them? It would take a lot of bandwidth?

    Hi EllenCB,

Welcome to Windows Vista community responses.

Once you make a clean installation on your hard drive is erased. Now, when you install the operating system return updates that have been deleted will be delivered by Windows update to install on your computer. To save time and bandwidth, you can directly install Service pack 1 and Service pack 2 for Vista which would contain more updates. Of course when you run Windows update and when you try to download from the internet, your download speed will decrease. It is best to keep your system up to date which will allow your version of Windows to run better.

Before installing the update, run the checksur tool, this tool is running an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations. Download the tool from the link below.
