Linksys e2000 wireless, download problems

Hello

My problem occurs when I am downloading something big, mainly the download speed triggers in a point and he dives I disconnected from the internet for a few seconds. This only happens when my laptop is on a wireless connection, and this phenomenon is repeated until the download is complete. During the crash of the connection, I am not able to access any site.

My laptop is an Asus G with Win7 64 bit SP1 series, and I use utorrent for downloads P2P.

Do the following settings:

[A] with the help of the Cisco Connect software (if at all, you have installed the router using this software)

1] open the software and go to the option that says "settings of the router.

[2] then click on the option that says 'Advanced settings', which will take you to the router configuration page.

[3] lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) of 1500 to 1400 or less (usually located on your main configuration page / database routers). Here is the link to determine and implement the right size MTU: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=fbf8e8564632422eaa8ea80bf9dcba64_386.xml&pid=80&re...

[B] If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can connect to the router's user interface using its default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and enter "admin" as password empty username field. This will take to the web interface of the router and then follow the steps as indicated above to make the changes.

Help! I'm at my wit's end. I just bought a Linksys E2000 router and cannot find a way to get the router to connect wireless on my HP G60-235DX laptop (running Vista) via the WPA2 setting. I know that the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g wifi adapter is the question, and I downloaded the latest driver update... and still have the same problems.

FYI - I can connect to the computer via the internet cable from the Linksys E2000 router so I know that it is not a modem issue.

    Help... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

    Paul,

I solved the problem! After almost return the router to Best Buy today during lunch, I decided to give it a try more tonight and again call LinkSys. After almost decided with the Linksys officer that they only solution is to put another card in my computer, we stumbled on the question.

We have gone to 5.0 GHz to 2.4 and spent the 'auto' channel to channel 9.

And now my computer works like a charm (thanks also to update the driver as you instructed).

    Thank you!

This isn't a problem of software with a Microsoft product.  ;-)

Is there a "wall of water" (wall of water pipes) or some work in brick/stone between you and the router when the signal is weaker?  Do you have other 2.4 GHz devices (cordless phones, microwave ovens, etc.) between you and the router?

  • E2000 wireless router Local

Nice day. I read and read and read sssoooo lots of posts on this problem. So, as the bed of my subject line, I have connectivity problems with my router. I entered the router itself to 192.168.1.1, change settings, reset settings, updated the firmware of the 1.0.04)is, or anything that has been posted by other users. I also changed my settings for the network card in my lappy, re-edited my IP, deleted / reinstalled the NIC, and / or what I found to try to do. I'm frustrated and upset that a wireless problem gives me so much headache.

I am running Vista 32 Home Premium, HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook, with a Cisco Linksys E2000 Wireless-N router. I have connected a desktop computer via wireless adapter USB, my android phone, android phone my GF, her children phones and iTouch and when I try a wireless connection to the router, I get a local access only with a unidentifiable network, which then limited my access online, (I can not connect to internet). It won't let me access the Internet via an ethernet cable but not wireless. I bypassed the router and connected directly to the modem without any problem. I have reset the modem and the router several times, as well as restarted my computer laptop a lot trying to win a link any. My laptop can connect to other hotspots wireless / points without any access problem.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    K.

OK, well I fixed it. I rolled back my drivers for my adpater, Atheros card and reinstalled via live chat on Linksys/Cisco, who have helped me. Sometimes the simplest solutions is the most often overlooked. Thanks for your reply and your help!

  • E2000 Wireless and help connect BEFVP41

I have a VPN BEFVP41 router that I use for my home software company and I have several clients who need to access the files on my server... so the VPN endpoint router. And it works very well. However, I would like to connect my laptop, PS3 and DirecTV set-top satellite Internet and bought a wireless router Linksys E2000 for this.

When I followed all the instructions, right out of the box, with all its parameters by default, I had wireless internet without problem, but did not have access to my network. I have live chat and was immediately referred to the helpline to help set up what they called a 'cascading connection '. Well, after almost 4 hours on the phone with them on 2 separate days, I now have no internet OR network connection on my E2000. It of a paperweight and sits right on the desktop. I tried to reset and start from scratch, as if I had just pulled out of the box... No, does not work.

Is it possible to use an E2000 wireless router and connect to the internet through a wired router BEFVP41? If so, how? TIA

    PJO

    1. make sure that the BEF is working properly. I guess that's the address LAN IP 192.168.1.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

    2. it is probably best to reset the E2000 to the factory settings. Press reset for 30 seconds. Make sure that the E2000 is not connected to your network.

    3. wire a single computer to the E2000. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ on the main Setup page, give the address LAN IP 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. Save the settings.

    4. unplug the computer. Now one of the ports numbered from the E2000 LAN wire to the BEF. Do not use the internet port of the E2000.

That's all. Now, you use the E2000 as a simple access point and ethernet switch. The internet-related functions are done on the BEF only.

Don't forget to set up the wireless and secure the E2000 through its web interface to http://192.168.1.2/

    Looking for any help.

    Thank you

    Finally a resolution...

I tried running an ePrint of New York telephone, and it worked, but still no luck wirelessly from the PC printing.

He said that the WiFi was indeed working.  So, I did a search for new firmware and found that there was one in April of this year (2016).  Downloaded and took a chance on install.  To my amazement, it is actually installed on the printer without any connection "connected".  Who told me that there is an existing wireless link.

Once the install is complete firmware, I tried to print a worksheet Excel from the PC, and it actually printed!  I have to assume there was something in the formware upgrade which allowed the router from LinkSys (WRT1900AC) to communicate fully and to work with the PC.  The router was published in 2014, so maybe it was.

In any event, everything is in fully working again.

Man y thanks to all who have shared their data entry.  I hope this could help someone with a similar problem in the future.

    Thanks again!

  • Satellite Pro A60 Wireless connection problem

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A60 which was connected to our main office using a Linksys Home Wireless - G USB adapt to I can share files and also connect to our connection broadband. The main office is connected directly to a G from Linksys home wireless gateway. It worked fine then for no reason (no settings have been changed or installed software) the laptop does not connect to the desktop or the internet. The software Linksys says that it is connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found. Even if he says that it is connected I can't get to the desktop.

I tried to set up a dial-up connection independent for updating drivers etc, but after the normal dial tones, he says that it cannot connect to the remote computer.

We tried everything that we think would be grateful for any ideas. Please speak slowly and distinctly also even if I know a little technical jargon computers is a language that I'm not still commonly!

    Thank you very much

    Hello

It's really not easy to say what can be the problem. In my opinion, you must remove all the settings and adapter WLAN Device Manager. Restart the unit, reinstall the wireless card and make a WLAN configuration again.

In my opinion, it is very important to know if the WIFI network of the device works correctly, and if you are able to share files between the laptop and our main office. If it works properly again check the settings on our front door.

One is the problem with Notepad or another device. If someone of your friends has a WIFI at home, you can try to check the laptop WIFI functionality. On this way, you can be sure that if the problem is caused by your Satellite Pro.

If you find a solution please let me know what the problem is.

    Good luck!

  • 4600 pro connects to the Linksys WAG354 Wireless router!

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with internal wireless card. I'm trying to connect to my Linksys WAG354 wireless router. The laptop seems to connect but only get a connection status ' Limited or no connectivity "note computer says it has problem because the network has not assigned a network address of the computer.

I called Linksys, but the call center do not have a lot of help! They said that I should update the driver for the Toshiba wireless... I did that, but still the same problem.

I am running windows XP. I have two other laptops connected to the router WAG354 and they work fine.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I agree with Michael. I think that some false setting is responsible for this. If your network is visible for the laptop, the features of the card are OK and the problem parameters.

  • Setting up windows xp as a server desktop and by linking a laptop Windows 7 via linksys E2000

I have a Dell Inspiron desktop on windows xp computer. I just plugged by ether net to a Linksys E200 wireless router. I was able to get my wife to recognize the router's cell phone and take the line with two computers (desktop via ether net, wireless laptop). My problem is: I can't do both at the network as a whole if I can use the office as a shared print server (USB Canon Mp170 printer). I am licensed and cannot afford to buy a wireless printer just for the laptop, so I would like to make this work. I tried the dell networking tool, I tried windows networking and they are not "see each other... any ideas?

    Hello

You must configure the printers to share on the XP computer and install the drivers for the printer as a network printer on other computers using the correct version for each computer.

    To set up sharing system.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_name.jpg

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

Win 7 networking with other version of Windows as a work network.

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

If you have authorization and security problems, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    * Note . There must be specific users. All means all users who already have an account now as users. This does not mean everyone who feel they would like to connect.

    ---------------------

    * Note. Some of the processes described above are made sake not for Windows, but to compensate for different routers and how their firmware works and stores information about computers that are networked.

  • Linksys E2000 to into acccess point/switch helps.

Okay so here's the deal, we got At & T Modem/Router upstairs, and then we had a long cable ethernet connecting here in the basement. The problem is that this allows only a connection to the local network at the same time (a problem for LAN parties and others). I do have a Linksys E2000 router however and I want to be able to use it as a switch access point.
I'm sure this is possible, but I forgot all the steps to do so.
The att modem/router is running on 192.168.1.254 and my Linksys that is directly connected is on 192.168.1.1, so I have another address in this field.
What I need to change my Linksys settings now, or do I have to change the settings for at & t?
Basic steps would be appreciated, but I am familiar with the concepts of normal network, so you mustn't it level by the low that much.
Also I will use this for Xbox Live at points so will I need to re - open all the ports on my Linksys, or at least put the DHCP to static IP Xbox to keep my NAT good?

    Thank you

  • Can't make an Apple iPod Touch to connect to my new Linksys WRT54GL Wireless router.

    Hello.

I'm trying to set up the iPod Touch (bought for more than a year; using v2.2 (5 G 77) firmware) of the of my client to connect to my new encrypted Linksys WRT54GL Wireless router. After we entered the password (too many sensitive cases and WPA shared key) as five times, he said "Failed to join"FooBarWRT54GL"" immediately.

The router uses the latest firmware v4.30.13 with these wireless settings:
Wireless network mode: Mixed (you want to support the devices/clients and B).
Wireless Network Name (SSID) example: FooBarWRT54GL
    Wireless channel: 1-2, 412 GHZ
    Security mode: WPA2 Personal
    WPA algorithms: TKIP + AES
Example of WPA Shared key: Abunchofletters aspacetoo

I guess that this device can do WPA Personal as she saw the WAP and requested a password. We have not had any problems with a year old 15 "MacBook Pro (2.4 Ghz and Mac OS X 10.5.8) and it's easy as cake.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

I finally got to work, with the help of Apple at the forum: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10650288... I had to do a manual configuration. Don't know why selecting the WAP and entering his password/password didn't work.

  • Linksys E2000 can not find the device!

    Hello

    I have Windows 7.

My ISP is a DSL company. I've been with this company for several years now.

I still have in my possession a wired router that I am currently using as my E2000 does not work.

In my computer, I have a network and a wireless network card. Both claim that the ' device working properly "in the Device Manager.

I tried to do the work of E200 for awhile now and I'm about to return it to the store and buy something else.

I insert the CD and I followed instructions more than once (even tried different things).

I always get to the screen that says:

We now set up your LinkSys E2000.

Please wait, this may take up to 5 minutes.

Aftetr awhile I get the message saying that it cannot find a device and that if I use a laptop that there could be a 'switch '. When this does not work I can plug in the back of my old router and it works fine.

I bought this router 7 days ago and it still does not work. I used to work for a DSL company and I was in technical support. I'm not a beginner.

Please help that this is the first time that I buy a product Linksys. I'm about to lose patience with this.

    Thanks in advance
